A concise and quick guide to why things happen all around you, and to you, this book explains that no matter how Type A you are, or wish you could be, you have no control over anything. The information in this book was worth the realization that I cannot control things I have no control over.
Brain science isn't always fun or readable. Some of it seems like pure nonsense outside the medical community. Here's an exception - science and everyday practicality in one volume.

I had to read this as soon as I saw the title. I am a person who relishes being in control but I am often mistaken on what circumstances are really within my power. This book was worth reading if only for its clarification of what we humans are truly in control of and what we are not. Linden provides broad strategies for letting go of a controlling mindset, and specific, evidence-based tools to change. Recommended for anyone interested in this subject and in learning how much of what we think we can control is truly an illusion. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. #TheIllusionofControl #NetGalley
