Thank you to NetGalley, Quarto Publishing Group – Wide Eyed Editions and the author for an ARC of this book.

As a teacher and former art student, I loved this book. Not only are the illustrations breath taking, but I love all the little fun facts about each park. The layout of the text makes all of the information interesting, yet digestible. I know this book is aimed at young readers, however, this book would make a great coffee table book and is something I would pick up for myself or a fellow nature loving friend.

I would also recommend the print version over the ebook, as text would be easier to see.

Great picture book of the National Parks in different regions of the country. Divided by regional geography, each park gets a full page illustration and then highlights of the flora and fauna.
The font is cutsy and fun, though mostly cursive so could be little challenging for elementary school-age readers. Not comprehensive but covering all the major parks and well spread across the country it would make a great read before a summer trip to visit some of them.
I read this thru Kindle and it worked okay - setup as 2 page spreads, I used an ipad horizontal to see full pages and scrolled to see the spread before changing to the next page. Usable but not ideal and don't recommend on a traditional kindle or smaller screen... and a physical copy will read much better.

This fantastic book highlights 21 national parks, sectioned off by region. The illustrations are beautiful, not bright or gaudy, but very pleasing. Our whole family enjoys this one.

A gorgeous fact-filled look at 21 of the most magnificent national parks in the U.S. Should be in every school and home library!

My oldest enjoys hiking, and requested the physical copy of this for her birthday and we bought it for her. I love the art of each and every place. My daughter loves being outdoors, exploring and is autistic. Feel in love with this book, that she sleeps with it. I have used this many times within our homeschool curriculum even bringing it to playdates, parks to show others how beautiful the illustrations are, and the different places, and what they have to offer to give them ideas. Living near several national parks such as Yosemite, sierra national and sequoia this gave some great insight to those locations, the wildlife, and it kept my kids entertained and off the tv. I will always recommend this because it is quality, if you get the physical book, the pages are heavy duty and will last and be able to withstand for years to come.

✨Book Review✨
🌄National Parks of the U.S.A.🌄

Synopsis:
A gorgeous children’s reference book about the National Parks of the U.S.A.

My thoughts:
🤔 I love how this book is organized into regions - East, Central, Southwest, Rocky Mountains, West, Alaska, and Tropics.
🤔 The illustrations have a natural, muted coloring, which I think fits the text perfectly. The illustrations are engaging, complement the text very nicely, and certainly appeal to young readers.
🤔 I love how interactive this reference book is. I especially appreciate the “Can Yout Spot This A-Z of Wildlife From the National Parks?” in the back of the book. How fun!

Who is going to love it?

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars.

Received for review: I received an advanced copy of this novel from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not obligated to write a good review, nor did I receive any compensation for writing this review.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I love national parks, and so I was super excited to read this one. Introducing children to the beauties and wonders of our national parks and explaining what each park has to offer concisely and in an engaging way is no easy feat. However, the author did a great job with that here. She manages to pack in a lot of information while also including fun illustrations and maps to relay information quickly. She also specifies the wildlife prevalent at each park.

For kids who like nonfiction reference books, this is a fun one that will be perfect for any family set to go visit some parks.

Love,

Danica Page

Beautifully illustrated book about the nature conservation and the USA's national parks that was clearly created with love and passion for its subject. As a children's book, it must have been crafted to grow with its reader. The writing doesn't feel accessible to very young readers, however, parents and educators may be able to use it - i.e. for animal identification games. The prose seems mostly aimed at adults, and, therefore, it may also work as a coffee table book. Generally, though, I recommend it for anyone charmed by the artwork and remotely curious about its subject.

This is a great book for kids. It’s filled with interesting facts and pictures of 21 national parks. And while it’s geared for younger readers, I found that I also learned some fun information. I’m excited to share this book with my great nieces and nephews.

Fun way for kids to study and learn more about our national park. This would be a fantastic resource for homeschooling. There is a good amount of information that is presented in a visually appealing way. I love how it's broken down geographically. The title pages for each park are beautiful.

*Thank you to NetGalley for the arc, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a spectacular book. As a fifth grade teacher, I always on the lookout for illustrated books that are engaging, informative, and age appropriate. This book fits the bill perfectly.

The book explores the national parks of the USA, going region by region. It gives a brief overview of each park, then goes into more depth for select parks. The book is jam-packed with interesting facts and tidbits of information.

I especially love the illustrations. They are gorgeous and captivating. I highly recommend this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kate Siber for an ARC of this title!

What a cute little book about the National Parks! I was drawn in by the artwork when I requested this title, but I was really impressed with the detail covered by what is supposed to be a children's book! I like that each page about the parks, while having a lot of information, also had a lot of detail about the animals, plants, geographic features, and history that make each park unique. I think this would be a great way to engage a family discussion about national parks and I could definitely see this book leading young readers down a rabbit hole in terms of more specific park interests (e.g. state parks, specific animals, etc.).

I would definitely get this book for the kiddos in my life, and I really enjoyed it as well! It made me want to immediately pan trips to some of the national parks in my area and the ones I didn't know about before (I had no idea my state had two parks, or that there are island parks, or that there are national parks in U.S. territories!).

This is getting to be quite the competitive market, the amount of books based on the USA's National Parks there are now. This gives us a potted look at the wildlife and geology of some of the main ones, but will forever remain divisive in leaving out your favourite. All 63 National Parks are here, on introductory maps if nothing else, and then by region we get into greater detail – the chosen few have a double-paged spread with panoramic view and paragraph of introduction, while their second spread is more scrap-booky, as if we'd put in our souvenir postcards or photo prints (ask your parents) and annotated them with healthy captions.

So yes, you could also accuse this of being wasteful with space – the full spread artworks being there where more data and info about the parks could be had. But this is pitched young, and few are the schoolkids who will have hit all the Parks in the Lower 48, ergo not having them all to read about in equal balance is probably not a dangerous thing. And even if I have a spurious connection to Missouri, even I cannot pretend Gateway Arch deserves the coverage of Yellowstone or Denali (the only one of these I've been to).

Newly in paperback for 2024, this would appear to be a slightly budget-aware reprint of what first came out in 2018. The fact it still comes out in this format at all is testament to how decent a product it was in the first place – and a strong four stars is further evidence of that from me.

This was such a lovely introduction to a lot of the wonderful national parks around the United States!

Separated out by regions, there’s brief blurbs for all sorts of national parks. Then there’s more in depth explorations of several of the parks.

The adorable artwork illustrates animals, plants, notable landmarks, and exciting phenomena in all of these locations. The artwork very strongly reminds me of the kind of retro style national park advertisements. There are several full page illustrations that I would quite happily purchase as prints.

This was an absolute delight to share with my nibling, and I can’t wait to take them to see all of these amazing locations in person.

Thank you to both NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this arc.

A wonderful book jam packed with facts and information and bright engaging illustrations. This would be perfect for homeschooling or using to expand your knowledge, I really like how this book was organised with each park having its own double page spread showing its location and lots of details about it and the animals that call it home.

Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for this book to review. The illustrations and information inside this book are incredible. Smaller tidbits that are easy to digest, and not get too overwhelmed by. Great for all ages. I would purchase a physical copy to have on my shelves.
