Fun facts and geography. It is broken into geographical locations and has cute graphics and factoids for the kids! And honestly, it was informative for me too! We loved going through this together!
This is a great quality book. The graphics are beautiful and I love how each park has a different color scheme. There is just enough information listed on the pages to keep it interesting. The title pages for each park are my favourite and are absolutely stunning. What a fun little book.
This book is gorgeous. It includes introductory spreads that focus on a national park with a paragraph or so of information. The following pages go more into detail with the park, including illustrations of the flora and fauna. The parks are separated by their location in the US.
This will be most appealing to younger readers, but even adults can learn something, or just appreciate the artwork.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. I will purchase for my library.
1000 Hours Outside groupies, a new book for you! This beautifully illustrated guide to the "National Parks of the USA" is a great companion for every outdoor explorer. Broken down into regions (East, Central, Southwest, Rocky Mountains, West, Alaska, and Tropics), each national park features 2-3 page spreads of information about the native wildlife, the park's location, when the park was founded, how large the park is, native plants, and interesting tidbits.
This would be an amazing book to take on visit to each of the national parks, but it also makes an amazing read while you're snuggled in a hammock outside during the summer, or snuggled in a tent while camping this fall, or maybe even while hiking and having a picnic lunch!
I'll start by saying my daughter (9) asked me to buy this book for our home library. She loves learning about different places and the things that live there. She really liked reading this one with me.
I really liked the illustrations. They are so colorful and fun and draw your attention. They kept my daughters attention as we moved through the page and learned about plants and animals. I thought the pages had a good balance of pictures and words. The descriptions were not too long that my kiddo lost interest.
A would have liked to see more national parks included. Some that I was hoping were in here in greater detail are Mammoth Cave, Arches, Joshua Tree, etc. I also think it would be fun to have a checklist for kids to check off of they've been to any of the parks.
Another thing that would be nice is the names of parks and pages they are on in the contents. That way we can pick a park to learn about and know which pages to go to.
Awesome book, very informative! We are just beginning to learn about national parks and this was a great entryway book. The facts about animals, plants, etc were great little bursts of information. The illustrations were beautiful. The challenge to spot different things in then back was a neat little bonus! Many thanks to NetGalley for this awesome opportunity!
Absolutely beautiful and engaging title about the majesty and natural wonders of America's National Parks (one of the best things about this country, in my opinion). Each park is illustrated with a gorgeous full-page drawing and then another few pages that break down different wildlife and plants found in the park. Not only are the illustrations visually lovely, and something I'd love to hang up in poster form, but they also depict diverse families enjoying these natural spaces. Just a great title and one I'd definitely buy for a niece or nephew. My only concern is some of the text is written in a cursive font that may be hard for children to read.
National Parks of the USA shares many interesting facts and details about our national parks. Learn about the wildlife in parks across the country, as well as plants and trees. Historical facts are sprinkled throughout as well. This book can be read in its entirety, or by specific region or park.
This book is delightful. The illustrations are colorful but realistic, which will really catch the attention of a child. The book is condensed but informative, segmented into appropriate lengths by park which are short enough to hold the brief attention span of children. There was a part about synchronous fireflies in the great smoky mountains that was incorrect, it states that they only live for 3 weeks. These fireflies actually live as glow worms for a year or two and spend a few weeks as adults. I can't speak for the rest of the information in this book but I have read about fireflies often.
This is a re-release of Kate Siber’s “National Parks of the USA,” which was a 2019 Outstanding Science Trade Book for Students. It is easy to see why.
The book explores national parks by region. Each featured park is given two double-page spreads. The first introduces the park while the second goes into the details of its natural wonders. The illustrations from Chris Turnham are compelling. Tidbits of text explaining key features of the park make the book almost interactive. As with Siber’s other works, this book begs to be read as a physical copy so you can touch the illustrations and trace the words with your fingers.
Classroom Considerations: This is a must-have book for the elementary classroom and even the middle school social studies or science classroom. Students have the opportunity to explore the geography and natural science of the USA.

Fabulous illustrations! They are what truly make this book. I can picture this on a coffee table along with other travel books, even though it’s designed for kids. The assorted facts about flora and fauna in the parks are a nice touch—perfect for inquisitive kids.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.
As someone who has not been fortunate enough to visit any national parks (despite the fact that I am in my 20s), I found this book fascinating. Because I have never been to any of America's National Parks, I was interested to learn more. I can imagine an inquisitive young child would also find this book fascinating. What is great about this book, is that it both entertains and educates. This would be a win-win for parents that have children that don't like school. I thought that the illustrations were engaging and colorful. This book should be on the purchase list for parents, teachers, and librarians. Despite the fact that I am way older than the target audience I found myself enjoying this book. So I can't see why children wouldn't enjoy it!!

The illustrations are eye catching and the information is interesting. Middle school aged children are the prime market for this book. A kid who is interested in this topic will be besides themself with excitement over this book.
Filled with beautiful muted illustrations that bring the parks to life! This book is a homeschool mom’s dream. My kids were drawn the pictures and the font used. Each state park is discussed in small pieces with tons of pictures! A gorgeous way to get kids learning!

National Parks of the USA is a children's book about all of the different national parks in the USA. It has a ton of information about the different parks. It has a lot of cute pictures throughout as well.
This book is a great nonfiction book for kids. It has a lot of information that kids will find easy to understand. The pictures will help kids stay engaged and focused on the information. The pictures are cute and colorful. I bet they look even better in print form compared to on my phone. The fonts were all aesthetically pleasing and easy to read. I think this book would be a great gift for kids who love adventure and learning about national parks.
Thanks so much to netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Wide Eyed Editions, Wide Eyed Editions for the arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a beautiful book! The information is clear and tangible for the intended age group, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading through this as an adult, as well. The illustrations are beautiful and there is much to be learned. Very enjoyable!
Visually pleasing with just the right amount of written information for the intended age group! As an adult, I enjoyed going through this book just for the illustrations alone.
