Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Some interesting points were made in this book, I'm not sure if they will work for me, but I'm happy to put them into practice.
‘Real change only happens when we take action’. If we do nothing, then we achieve nothing. This is an accessible, easily read book by someone who had involved themselves in intermittent fasting, explaining their experiences and what they may have done differently. Perhaps we should not expect full success immediately.
I enjoyed the style of writing. It may prompt some to explore and experiment with intermittent fasting and change their diet and portion control along the way. Gentle not arrogant or preaching. It was very clear from the start that it was one persons experience.
.
As someone who follows IF as a lifestyle, I have read a lot of books on the subject.
This one gives you the most basic of what IF is so if you are looking for a guide, this isn't it.
This is the account of someone who tried it and explains what worked for them and what they would have done differently. I quite enjoyed it.
I don't think anyone who is a full newcomer will get a lot from it but I hope it will set them on the path for research. I think they book should have included resources within it on where to look. I think it would have been helpful to give me details on what IF along with all the personal parts.
I would have liked pictures maybe of the progress. Maybe photos of meals etc. Make it more personable. I did like the overall tone of the book and I thought it was decent enough.

Intermittent Fasting for Weight Loss is a wonderful resource for anyone looking to shed pounds and revitalize their health. The author provides a comprehensive guide to intermittent fasting, breaking down the science behind it and offering practical tips for success. What I appreciated most about this book was its holistic approach, addressing not only the physical aspects of weight loss but also the mental and emotional components.. If you're ready to take control of your health and transform your life, Intermittent Fasting for Weight Loss is a great read.
This was a brief and clean book. I come at it from a perspective that I've done OMAD for about a year and my weight is increasing again and I would have liked more on portion control or tips on what I am doing wrong but for what it is, it's a great introduction book.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the book. I keep hearing about intermittent fasting to loose weight. Of course I have always done or heard people do it for religious purposes. It is not pleasant but I was interested in trying it. I cannot believe the extremes levels of fasting that people do for weight loss. Of course when you go the extreme route and only eat on hr a day of course you will loose weight. I think that the extreme fasting could be very dangerous. And to just be smart about it. This is a very fast book to read and it it more about the authors experience. So I would say it was an interesting read but I would do some serious research and do what your body can and don't push it and become malnourished. Be smart, smaller portions, workout and high protein foods. It is all in all and interesting read.
This is very much a detailed account of Jeffery Shannon’s journey. He undertakes an extreme 40 day fast. He admits that it’s not for everyone. He admits he failed to consult a doctor. He does go into interesting detail of the different methods of fasting for weight loss. On reflection he would perhaps have chosen a less extreme form of fasting. If you want to do a 40 day fast then I would recommend this book. It will tell you how to prepare and what to expect. The 5:2 fasting diet is he agrees a better way. Less self flagellating and more a simple change to the times you eat without feeling stressed or guilty about eating what you like. I would recommend Dr. Michael Mosley 5:2 diet. Be kind to yourself.
