This was a scary tale from inside an abusive relationship. Written well & handled with care.
It goes to show what you see isn’t always what is going on.
Having to hide away to make sure they keep safe & try to get a new life where every corner isn’t terrifying.
Excellent story and read in a couple of days as needed to know what was going to happen.
I’ve read a few of Beevis’ books and have loved everyone of them!
This book of hers had the same element of thrill but with the lack of the normal twist. This book was more of a domestic thriller than her others. Being that it wasn’t twisty, it was still such a wild ride!
This book had so much emotion thrown into it as well. The scenes with Duncan and Callie were hard to read at some points, but created an almost visceral reaction. This just shows the level of brilliance in her writing in my eyes!
Like I said, I usually enjoy her twisty thrillers, but this. Was. A. Good one!
This was my first book by the author and overall I enjoyed it. The main plot line follows a woman escaping an extremely abusive relationship. It takes a look at trauma bonding which is when a person is with an abusive partner and that partner has broken down their sense of self worth to the point that they feel like their abuser is the only person who will be there for them and thus it’s way harder to leave. (Sorry I had to explain trauma bonding because I see it misused constantly) I liked that aspect of the book, I think it’s an important topic. My main “issue” with this book is that it felt surface level to me. I felt I was getting all the information for the story but wasn’t connected deeper to it, if that makes sense. I could’ve used more backstory anecdotes, some more build up, etc to feel connected to the characters. It was a good thriller, but not incredible. I will try another book by this author.
Keri Beevis did it again !!!!!
Holy F !!!!!! 😳😳😳
I found this author last year and I'm now obsessed with her books!!! I just love them too much because she writes the kind of thrillers I love.
This one is really really good and kept me on edge every second!!! I was loving it so much that I was getting mad every time I was interrupted haha. I was annoyed at the world for making noise hahaha.
Do I recommend it? Hell yeah!!!
But be aware it's violent, it's dark. The domestic abuse it's violent and descriptive. At times I was just wishing to get inside the book and throw punches 👊🏻 I swear of God it's intense.
Thank you netgalley, Boldwood Books and Keri Beevis for my arc !!!!!
There are some absolutely horrific monsters in this world who can be quite deceptive and misleading to most of those around them, and we get to meet some of those characters in Nowhere to Hide.
Whoa! So this is one of those books where I absolutely loved it in some parts, and in other parts, it was a bit over-the-top. Duncan Stone is a handsome celebrity and so romantic in his early dating days, yet we learn his true nature and personality as time goes on. When the story starts, main character, Callie, is trying to escape from something or someone, but we're not sure what. The storyline goes back and forth between "Now" and "Before" as new details are revealed about what is going on. I truly adored the "Now" scenes and the interactions between the different characters. Some of the "Before" situations were tough to read and at times, I found the scenarios incredulous and gut-wrenching. However, it kept me on my toes and turning the pages. My mouth was hanging open as I wondered what was going to happen next. What an intense ending! Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the digital ARC.
Another brilliant book from Keri Beevis.
The story centres around an abusive relationship and may be a trigger for some people.
When Callie meets Duncan she feels an immediate attraction and is so happy when he takes her out.
Things start off well but when she moves in with him, she starts to see a different side to him.
The first time he hits her, he’s apologetic but when it starts to happen more and more, she realises he enjoys hurting her.
Callie eventually escapes and a friend of a friend lets her stay at his remote farm in Norfolk.
Nico knows Callie has been hurt physically and mentally and gives her the space she needs, but he is also there if she needs him.
I won’t say too much more as it will spoil it, but I will say there’s some great twists and some nail biting moments as the book progresses.
This is a great psychological thriller that I’d highly recommend.
Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
Having the ability to hide one’s true self from others is a skill. Callie found out quickly with Duncan. He was a movie star on the outside and a cruel abuser on the inside. This story was about recovery from domestic violence. I felt the horror that must have been so awful from the words written on the page. This author has a way of delivering gut-wrenching emotions at the beginning and throughout the book and delivering the best feeling at the end. I enjoyed how the author had two characters with tragic childhoods, brought themselves up and yet were two very different human beings. This author is one of the best psychological thriller writers of all.
I see "Keri Beevis" and I'm immediately sold 🫣
this one had too many flashbacks for my taste, kind of 50/50 present-past chapters but maybe that's just because I wanted to know what happened next in the present too much 😩
the abuse was really intense and sometimes made me sick to my stomach, and I've read a LOT of abuse stories, fiction and non-fiction. the writing style puts you right in the scene as if you're witnessing everything yourself, so big TW for domestic abuse, beware if that's a sensitive topic for you 💕
I actually gasped at the plot twist(s), I was fooled and gagged 😭 mouth open in shock
overall not the most action packed thriller but well written and with sensible characters (not including the mean ones), which is more than a lot of thrillers rn 🤭

Thanks to #NetGalley and #BoldwoodBooks for the book #NowhereToHide. This book is amazing. Mental and physical abuse is very common these days and this book contains a lot of both. It was hard to read but very well written. I highly recommend this book to everyone, especially the survivors!
This storyline reminded me of the film sleeping with the enemy. Enjoyable but ultimately could have been so much better. Callie is on the run from her boyfriend. He told her if she left he would find her and kill her. She’s tried before and he found her. This time she fakes her own death. The twists and turns are lively. Enjoy, just don’t take it too seriously.
Another tense chilling thriller by Keri Beevis.I was drawn in from first to last page.I enjoyed all the twists and turns another great read by the author.#netgalley #boldwoodbooks
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book. Keri Beevis is becoming one of my go to authors! This was a great suspenseful read with lots of twists I didn't see coming. The story was cleverly written and the characters relatable. Highly recommend
This is an ARC review. Great thriller with an even better storyline. I really enjoyed this book. I’ve been a fan of Keri Beevis’ writing style for a couple years now. With this book, you get a great story woven within a psychological thriller, which draws you in from the start. TW- domestic abuse
Another great book from Keri!!!! This author never disappoints!!!
This was great and will have you hooked from page one!!! The author always never surprises me with her writing!!! You know you are reading a great read when you know you need to work the next day but want to find out what happens!
Great job on another great book!!
Thanks NetGalley for letting me read and review
A solid thriller!
Callie faked her death and ran from her abusive partner.
It kept me highly entertained and was a quick read.
For lovers of domestic thrillers pick this one up!
A disturbing dark and twisted psychological thriller set in Devon and Norfolk. We meet Callie Parker as she arrives at Norwich Railway Station. She carries a small bag but otherwise has nothing. At the station she is collected by Nico and driven to his farm. But Parker is not her real name and she is in fact running for her life. A well written and constructed book that was a compelling read.
Briefly, Callie has been dating actor Duncan Stone and thinks she has hit the jackpot. He’s perfect. But soon piece by piece we discover the truth about their relationship and why she is running. As desperation deepens for both Callie and her tormentor, the lives of her friends, her dogs and indeed herself are under threat.
A shocking tale of obsession, bullying and coercive behaviour, quite descriptive so be aware. A tense read where I was on the edge of my seat waiting for something to happen! A fabulous twist at the end was a complete shock. Great read.
This book felt very reminiscent to Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris. but still a very different and unique book. You know a book is well written when you get angry and upset over what is happening to a character and I definitely felt that with this book. I've read multiple works by Keri Beevis and am consistently surprised by how each one delivers what I am looking for when reading a thriller.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in advance of publication.
If you want a book that hooks you from the first chapter, that's full of twists, turns and complex characters then this is your author. I have read many of Keri's books and they are all excellent.
In this book we have Callie who believes she has met the man of her dreams with the charming celebrity Duncan. However her dream quickly turns in to a nightmare when his true colours are revealed. She needs to leave him, but his threats to find her and kill her make her too scared to leave until an old friend makes a sudden appearance in her life.
Can she finally leave her nightmare and live the life she deserves?
This book was difficult to read in places due to the abuse Callie suffered, but as a reader you wanted to read on with the hope she could finally be rid of Duncan and be happy. My 'one more chapter' turned in to me unable to put the book down until I finished it.
Excellent book and another well deserved 5*
A great book that has suspense and tension by the bucket load. A truly horrible man who is just vile. The story is believable with authentic characters. Fast paced and engaging throughout.
I predict that this will be one of the most read books this year.
Callie Parker cannot believe her luck when Duncan Stone, a famous celebrity, actually asks her out on a date. When he asks her to move in with him after a short space of time, she is on Cloud 9.
Duncan has a very dark side which he has kept hidden from Callie, and whilst she thought she would be living the dream, she is in fact going to be entering a nightmare world of domestic abuse. She needs to escape, but how? Duncan has her every move watched and isolated her from all her friends,
This book deserves every accolade out there. It is so well written, every move planned to perfection. How Callie escapes is a testament to this author’s imagination. The tension never slows down, her terror and dread of being found is chillingly portrayed. Not only that, I felt every emotion that she went through. My heart seemed to slow down and then stop as I feared for our heroine’s safety.
I cannot recommend this novel highly enough. It may keep you up all night, but it is worth every hour of lost sleep!
