Crave, beautifully illustrated by author Maria Llovet, is an erotic graphic novel that revolves around the titular app Crave. Very pointed social commentary about kids/young adults and technology. Crave, the app, allows people to pursue their cravings, and nothing is off-limits. The cynical among us will note that complete freedom to pursue our wants seldom ends well. The story moves quickly and the artwork does wonders with portraying the rise and fall of the app and the chaos caused by it.
Unfortunately, many public libraries in certain parts of the U.S. are likely to pass on adding it to their collections for fear of fauxrage by parts of their community.
I really loved this, Image NEVER fails to amaze me.
The art style was absolutely gorgeous…. thank you very much,

What if you had the ability to have your deepest, darkest desires be fulfilled through an app?
First of all thank you to @netgalley and @imagecomics for issues 1-6 of Crave!
Maria Llovet's Crave follows the journey and consequences of a university which has been plauged with an app that has the ability to grant you your deepest, darkest desires.
The comic series looks at how depravity can easily turn chaotic. It also begs the question of free will and responsibility. If you could have what ever you wanted at the press of the button, are the events that follow your fault?
The illustrations of the series are beautiful vibrant and really do draw you in. The series was fantastic and I'm exited to see where Llovet goes with it. Personally I would have liked some more character background information however, Crave definitely made me remember why I got into reading comic books in the first place.
🌟4.5/5

Absolutely devoured this comic, I read it all in one sitting! It was a fantastic blend of Nerve meets Black Mirror with a good spoonful of beautiful erotic artwork.
I would not recommend for those who don't like mature content, but I loved the style and the quick-paced movement of the story. Already 'Craving' more!
I really enjoyed this digital graphic novel series. I found the storyline to be compelling and I wanted to see what would happen next. There is a new app that is spreading around this college like wild fire. I tells you what your changes are of getting what ever your craving is fufilled.
Crave is a mildly erotic graphic novel that follows the members of a university campus, who discover an app called CRAVE, which can help them achieve the things they crave.
But something is wrong, and our main characters must find out how to stop it before it goes too far.
Crave has gorgeous illustrations and the storyline is inventive and interesting.
The storyline moved along well, without feeling rushed. It was easy to read and the illustrations really brought the story to life.
An erotic thriller graphic novel. While I did enjoy it, it was a lot. It was fast paced, almost to the point of feeling like I was missing things. The story was very plot driven. I personally would've liked getting to know the characters better. The art very much fit the story though. It was very well done. It's a pretty niche audience but a very cool book.
A very propulsive read, and also very steamy if you catch my drift. I liked the art style and I think the idea of an app like crave is terrifying. Thank you to NetGalley for the arc.
This one was… interesting? Very sex focused, kind of felt like what people think college is like. A bunch of horny young people that are constantly hooking up with each other and fighting over each other except with an AI driven twist.
the premise ended up being more interested than I thought with how short this graphic novel is and each of the characters felt very fleshed out, also the art style was cool and fit the tone perfectly
WOW. Out of all the graphic novels and comics I’ve read, this is my first time reading Maria Llovet and she did not disappoint with the story or the art style.
The premise is intriguing; a bunch of law students and an app that promises to help them find what they “crave.” Everyone loves the latest and greatest new app right? That is until it drags you into an obsessive dark hole.
Crave is definitely more smutty than I expected, but overall it’s a great commentary on the dangers of AI, new technology, social media, and how easily we get sucked into it.
Thanks always to Image Comics for letting creators bring stories like this to life.
Loved the illustrations. Read it in one sitting and will definitely keep and eye out for a sequel
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Crave! Finally got around to reading this, and it did not disappoint! I love the idea of playing a deadly game by using an app or some form of technology! Dope concept! I loved the art of this graphic novel-the attention to detail, the colors, loved it! I also really enjoyed the plot and the characters! Fun little read, and I can't wait to see what Maria Llovet creates next!
I felt like it jumped into the story really quick...not necessarily a bad thing (especially in the ways of comics), but figured I would learn a bit more about characters. Super fast read, but did not feel anything for the characters. Decent story - spot on with the description (Black Mirror meets Eyes Wide Shut). Thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for the ARC opportunity.
This is like The Purge meets dating apps. The law students try out this new app called Crave which encourages them to "find what they crave." What happens to these students is akin to a bacchanalia. People lose their inhibitions, but it becomes dangerous. Some students band together to get rid of the app so no one else gets hurt.
I really enjoyed this! I think it' a good one shot but also has potential for a series. I like the contrasting colors and the art style.
This was a fun read. Didn’t realize it would be so short but still enjoyed it. Whether it is read in sections or in full it was still enjoyable. Loved the concept of an app destroying individual relationships but also building them out. This is about college age students figuring it out.
I rtc this graphic novel, but it just wasn't for me. The art is nice, and I like how characters are differentiated, but I didn't find the plot particularly engaging, and some of the depictions of women are questionable. I don't feel like I really understood where this graphic novel is coming from, but it is clearly a body of work that took a lot of time and attention.
Crave by Maria Llovet, with mesmerizing illustrations by the author herself, is an intense blend of passion and dark allure. Llovet’s own artwork amplifies the story’s raw, surreal tone, each panel crafted with an elegance that pulls you deeper into its world. The narrative is bold and haunting, wrapped in themes of desire and obsession that linger long after the final page. Crave is a visual and emotional journey, perfect for readers drawn to stories that smolder with intensity and beauty.
This was smutty chaos in the best way possible. It's a dirty-talk love letter to dystopia ideas related to how much influence tech and AI can take control over us when we give it the type if power to play with our most primal instincts. At what point to we allow our higher intellectual go by the wayside in pursuit of pleasure--and what destruction is left in the wake of abandoning the current moral social construct? The art was good and the plot equally drove the story. Super interesting read. Come for the smut, stay for the story.
I really like the premise - an app called Crave that promises to make your secret desires come true quickly begins to cause havoc at an elite university. It gave me 'Black Mirror' it gave me 'Nerve' so I was excited.
I only wish that all the focuses weren't all so sexually centred. I understand that it was an 'erotic' graphic novel, but I felt that there were so many other ways this could have gone. So only rwally half a criticism there since it is advertised as erotic.
But I definitely think there were so many directions the app could have gone. In the same sense, I feel like the graphic novel could have been longer - it felt almost a little rushed at the end after the build-up throughout the rest of it.
I did enjoy the art style. It was very unique and fit the tone well. The dialogue between the characters was great and easy to follow, and I could have seen it quite easily getting confusing, but it never was. I did think some additional volumes to this would have helped to flesh out the romance and connections between the characters a bit better.
Thank you to NetGalley & Image Comics for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
