This book was definitely black mirror inspired if you’re into that vide technology fast paced erotica. With vibrant colors and illustrations. If you’re not interested in spice, I would not recommend this book because it was definitely spicy but still focused on the plot moving with the technology really fun story.
Even though the story definitely kept pulling me in. It took me a while to read this book because of the level of erotica and how young they look. It just made me feel a little weird. So I can’t give it any more than three stars. That being said the art style was so beautiful. I would give it another half star just for that.
Definitely a Black Mirror feel to this graphic novel about an app that seems to make the erotic desires of a university campus start to come true. I raced through it, but I'm not quite sure the overall story is the strongest, and whilst the artwork is fine there's quite a few illustrations (particularly towards the end) that don't feel quite the highest standard (though the style is consistent throughout and seems to fit the story).
Overall I'd put this in the category of 'Would continue to read the series, but it's not going to make my Top 10 at the end of the year'.
2.5*
I honestly really enjoyed the premise of this graphic novel. The whole idea was so entertaining to read about. The style and illustration of this graphic novel were honestly so stunning.
I feel like there wasn’t as much plot at all just lust. I would have loved to have known the characters way more. Maybe I would have liked the character a bit more if it was longer. I liked the interactions they had with each other and the dialogue was done really well.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
This was super sexy and dark and I loved the art style. I enjoy modern technology being incorporated into thriller and horror stories.
This checked many boxes for me while reading. ✔️Erotic romance ✔️graphic novel ✔️ excellent plot. I really enjoyed it from beginning to end
First I'd like to say that I think this comic just wasn't really suited to me, and may be more preferred by others. Thank you to net galley for giving me an opportunity to read it in exchange for an honest review.
'I really wanted to love this a whole lot more, however I just felt it was lacking substantially in plot building and lack of plot is a turn off as a reader for me - whether it's a book, or a graphic novel. Going into this the story sounded really good and I did like the idea of this app being in charge and creating these scenarios and impacting how the characters behaved etc. I feel like it was a great representation for sign of the times with apps and the internet, I think from a sociology perspective it's a great experiment to examine.
That's not to say this isn't an enjoyable read, however, I get the premise that it's meant to be a raunchy graphic comic - I knew that going into the read. However, I just felt like I was digging a bit to find a plot under all these raunchy sex scenes. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a smut fan through and through - I've read a lot of it but what really makes those smutty scenes worth while IS the plot, world building and story that comes with it.
I felt that, at times, the story was neither here nor there. The characters just felt a bit too one dimensional and I found myself just checking out of reading and having to go back to read.
There's just a lack of depth and it just felt like a lust show more than anything. I didn't feel like the lusty content was actually creating a build in the story which is probably why it fell a bit flat for me.
Rating: 3.5/5
This omnibus contains Volumes 1-6 of Crave. Each volume is relatively short and reads extremely easily.
I absolutely loved the art style, it felt dark and grungy which added to the overall feeling of the story being told. I enjoyed the characters but felt like the short nature of the combined volumes didn’t give me time to really care about any of them, especially with all of the side characters. I almost wish it was twice as long to really make me believe these characters relationships but also to give them much more depth.
Despite that, it is an enjoyable read and really does give the vibes of a Black Mirror episode with many sexy undertones. If you are looking for a quick, erotic read with an app that destroys people’s love lives, definitely give it a read! I think it is a great start for this author.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
CRAVE is a fast paced erotic thriller that delves into the harm caused when people give into their baser impulses, by way of AI & social media. the frantic art style matched the tense premise and ultimately was what engaged me the most. at times i felt the plot was a bit disjointed, but never enough to dissuade me from wanting to continue the story.
check the content warnings on this one!
thank you to Netgalley and Image Comics for a digital advance copy — the full collection is out October 1st!

This was interesting… the art was great and the story overall was very entertaining. However I just don’t think the book is for me. I didn’t enjoy it as much as I hopped I would
Thank you netgalley for thjs ARC the cover really caught my eye so im glad i got the chance to read this one and what i liked about it is that all the volumes were included into this ARC.. The concept was very good it follows an app that everyone in this school ends up getting and it asks you what you're craving or who and stuff and it had alot of erotic moments and alot of times the app caused chaos on different aspects i really enjoyed the artwork in this and i loved so many of the characters this novel had such a great group of friends and side characters as well. I loved all the outfits that people wore and the details in the artwork it had very cool images and it was definitely a page turner graphic novel it kept me intrigued and i wanted to know what happened next. This was a great graphic novel and was very steamy at times depending on who was craving who at the time you should read this one!
Thank you NetGalley and Image Comics for the ARC.
When I saw the premise for this collection (episodes 1-6) of the Crave series I was immediately into it. The only question I had was about the art style because it isn’t my usual go to look I enjoy, but I am glad I got it anyways because I ended up loving the style and it was really well done. The story was quirky and original; I can’t wait to read further episodes to see what happens next since while it wraps up the original story nicely at the end it leaves open room for it to grow into new stories.
This is an erotic aka very adult manga so if that isn’t for you be warned. However, if you are looking for that then this is a great example of a well done erotic manga.
I loved this set of comics. The story was very intriguing and the concept was so cool. I enjoyed this and recommend it to anyone looking for an interesting graphic novel or a good pellet cleanser. I want to look into their work more. also, the art was incredible!!
I'm honestly a bit surprised this isn't also labeled as horror because the way social media and data collection is going, this a real and honest terror. The art of this felt really nice and clean, but conveyed the horror and beauty of what was happening.
Over all this is just a great message that I think needs to be reiterated, especially these days.
I enjoyed the general idea of this book. The illustrations were well done and although the erotic aspect of this was overdone just a little for story, I did like the black mirror feel of everything. If Crave were a real app, this is probably exactly what would happen.

This one was an interesting experience to say to least. Because it’s a graphic novel I have to talk about the art first, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It wasn’t realism-level art but it still captured all of the emotions and scenes it was meant to and even if there were some times where a random background face was a bit derpy I think overall it was nice to look at. Also the color palette it’s actually beautiful so that’s a plus for me. Now onto the actual story, I felt like it was lacking for me, I think that’s due to its length. I was left wanting more, like everything was just chaotic at one point then in a very anticlimactic way everything was just wrapped up and it just left me feeling let down a bit. Although I fully enjoyed my read and will def look into more from this author I wish this book gave me more.
This erotic sci-fi thriller is a fun read for those who aren’t looking for something too deep. It pulled me in from the start and held my attention until the end. My main criticism is that it could have been longer. I would love to see a movie adaptation..
Crave by Maria Llovet is an erotic thriller graphic novel about a new dating app that has gotten out of control. This is a lighthearted read with a diverse cast of characters. I enjoyed the story overall, and it is a quick read. I agree with comments saying it is like an episode of Black Mirror. However I didn't feel invested in the characters. Interesting illustrations. Thanks to Image Comics and NetGalley for the eARC
First off, this comic is not suitable for readers under 18! There are graphic depictions of sexual acts throughout this book.
🚨 CW: Sexual Content (18+), violence, cyber bullying, suicide, conspiracy to murder,
》LGBTQ characters
》Teacher x Student
》Artificial Intelligence
Crave is about an elite university campus of students suddenly all having a strange app appear on their phone called Crave, which is designed to match them with people to satisfy their cravings. It's not just an app, but AI who seems to be able to tap into the school security system and take control of camers, elevators, and anything electronic to bring and/or force people together to carry out their desires, whatever they may be.
Things quickly get out of hand, and what I thought would be an erotica story with pretty artwork, an app helping people hook up or start relationships spirals out of control and turns into an app that traps university students and twists their wants. The story becomes dark and filled with violence, suicide, cyberbullying, and conspiracy to commit murder when students don't get their way—and the Crave app helps them.
This story shows the dangers of artificial intelligence and how far technology has come.
I did enjoy the story. This book is a collection of six comics in one, so you can finish this series all in one go. The comic could have done without all the excessive sexual scenes, though, and kept it between the main characters and a few just to get the point of the app across.
✨️ Things I liked ✨️
》The pretty cover and artstyle is what drew me to this book. The art style is different compared to what I'm used to, and I liked that about it! There's a certain realism to it that I enjoy!
❌️ Things I disliked ❌️
》The amount of sexual acts and making out between students (and sometimes student/teacher) in the hallways, staircases, bathroom, etc. is very excessive. It's almost like it's there for shock value and to push the point of the Crave apps success at getting people laid.
I could not stop turning the pages with this read. The artwork was phenomenal, and the plot was suspenseful and intriguing throughout. This work of art captured lust, obsession, and craving masterfully. I can’t wait for what she writes next!
"Black Mirror meets Eyes Wide Shut in this dark and sexy erotic thriller.
Crave, a mysterious app that promises to make your desires come true, spreads among the students of an elite university who use it as a hookup app. David, a top student, engages in a game of seduction with the unattainable Alexandra. But as requests to the app escalate and wreak havoc on campus, David and his friends' only chance to stop this spiral is to find out what really lies behind Crave.
In this dark, sexy mystery, writer/artist Maria Llovet (Luna, Faithless, Sandman Universe Thessaly) explores how we connect to the world and to others in the dawn of AI.
Collects Crave #1-#6"
I don't like AI at all, but I love stories about how AI can go evil.
