Amazing - the way this book was woven together was just brilliant
Four women's lives become entangled whilst they are all taking a break at a hotel -
they don't know each other by will soon become acquainted.
The villain of the story was horrible and had made some of the women's lives miserable, how far
would someone go to make their problem go away.
I loved this book, i could not put it down, it was a pleasure to read

Celia, Juliette and Nadia are complete strangers with one thing in common: they have all been wronged by Ellis Cobain. A wealthy philanthropist on course for a knighthood, Ellis' public persona is bulletproof - but lurking beneath this veneer is a sinister side that only the women closest to him have seen. When they meet at a boutique hotel on the Cornish coast, brought together by the blind arrogance of their tormentor, they realise what connects them and form a pact: to blackmail him and free themselves from his grasp. But when he is discovered the next morning, murdered in cold blood, they are left scrambling. None of them knows who did it, and now they must desperately cover their tracks. Will they keep each other's secrets, now they are all implicated in his death? Will one turn on the others, when any of them could be next?

I enjoyed this latest instalment in the Stephanie King series. We follow Stephanie and Gus on a murder investigation that strikes close to home. As the book progresses, the events get weirder and we are never too sure who committed the crime. Towards the end of the book I did think the pace began to droop and I started to lose interest, however Abbott saved it with a shocking ending.
With any series I enjoy catching up with previous characters and with this book, I liked seeing the development in the relationship between Stephanie and Gus. My one criticism would be they were not in this enough. The other characters, in particular Celia, Juliette and Nadia are very strong and carry the story exceptionally. They are fragile and yet powerful and I enjoyed reading their different stories.
This was a thrilling read with a shocking ending and wonderful characters.

Rachel is one of my favourite authors so I was really pleased to get this. It’s wasn’t stand out, but it was good. She writes with style and her characters and well written and 3 dimensional. I enjoyed it overall.

I have loved reading other books by Rachel Abbott so I was excited for this one, I didn't prefer it to her other books but I still enjoyed the suspense and adrenaline rush that I feel when reading her books.

Rachel Abbott is one of my favourite authors, so I was really excited to read this.

As always, the writing was fantastic and the characters were realistic and well fleshed out. However, I can't put my finger on why but I found the mystery a little lacklustre and can't say I was hugely invested in the case this time around. I still enjoyed reading the book, but I wasn't gripped.

Having said that, the ending genuinely gave me chills.

I would recommend this book, but it definitely isn't my favourite by the author.
