⭐️ All the stars for this masterpiece and for anything that B. K. Borison writes, honestly!!! 🌟 I feel that my review of this book should be summed up in two words: Charlie and Nova. 📚 Because that’s about it. Charlie and Nova are incredible and my new fav couple. 💑 All the love for them. Truly perfect. I love them with my heart. ❤️ Their banter, their connection, their chemistry!!! Every little detail about them is beautifully written. 🥰
Charlie and Nova are both so relatable and likable. I’m obsessed with them!!! 😍 It’s really hard to put into proper words how perfect this book actually is and how much I love them and their story.
It was perfect from start to finish. Being back at Inglewild felt like coming home. 🏡 B. K. Borison wrote the small town romance book of my dreams!!! I just can’t wait for you all to read this masterpiece!!! 📖 My review could only say his name and it would be enough to describe my feelings.
I cried a bit, and then I cried some more, and when I thought I was all cried out, I wasn’t. 😭 I don’t know if I related more to these characters, or if it was because of the story in particular, but it doesn’t really matter. This was PERFECT!
Thank you B. K. Borison for giving us Lovelight and all of these wonderful characters that truly feel like family. 🙏

I do enjoy the style of writing from BK Borison. You just always know you are getting a fun and enjoyable read. I would reccomend this.
Pan Macmillan - thank you SO much for the privilege of sending me this arc! Oh my… the emotions I felt finishing this book! Borison has a unique way of transporting you into these beautiful and happy worlds. The Lovelight series is so special and this book did not disappoint.
I really connected to both of the main characters. They both had nothing but good intentions the whole way through. I never stopped routing for Charlie and Nova’s happy ending. Be prepared to be giggling, squealing and ADDICTED to this book and the characters.
I loved the world that was created in this book and I am so sad this series is over - but what a send off!
This author is known for her amazing visual descriptions that drag you right into the story. You can feel the touches.
You feel the emotion and energy. You can feel the character's connections like you were a part of it all.
Business Casual is another wonderful example of that deep connection that builds between two people. It's more than a love story. It's a deep dive into finding your soulmate. It's a sensual romance at the cellular level that makes you wish and pray that your relationships become like that too.
Once again this author has made a mark on me. I love reading romance just like. It's also about family and friends and that support you never knew you needed.
If you have not experienced a Borison book, what are you waiting for? Swoony, sweet, gooey, fun, obnoxious, and forever in your heart!
Holy-Moly... what a way to end the Lovelight series! So anyone who knows me knows that 1. This series is one of my faves ever and 2. In the Weeds is one of my fave romcoms ever. Well well well, Business Casual has officially shoved ITW straight out of the way and is EASILY one of my favourite romcoms to ever exist. This book has it all. Laugh out loud moments, emotional damage, cuteness overloads, THE PHONE TREE, and characters who are so insanely relatable that it hurts.
Things I loved:
- Charlie... everything about Charlie... I would take a bullet for Charlie. I don't want to, but I will.
- The way BK Borison transports us to this small town and how we end up feeling so immersed in the magic of Inglewild and its people.
- How much I related to both Nova and Charlie. Charlie's ADHD (HELLO), anxiety, need to feel liked, Nova's pride, need to be enough to make people proud. Urgh, squeeze my heart into pieces.
- The spice was... SPICING phew. Delicious
I truly can't think of a better way to end the series. This was absolute perfection
Thank you Netgalley for granting me the opportunity to receive the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
As with all the Lovelight farms book this did not disappoint!
I enjoyed literally all of this book!
I am completely in love with Charlie and his cheeky ways. Nova was independent and sassy and I really loved her!
This book had me smiling, laughing and tearing up.
I loved the relationships and the friendships that were so much more than that.
I really hope that this isn’t the end of lovelight farms and can’t wait to see what’s next from B.K Borison!
Thank you to NetGalley for sending me this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

I was so excited when I received this in my inbox, I’ve loved loved loved the Lovelight series! The characters are so fun and the setting is so cosy, it’s basically Stars Hollow, quirky side characters and all! The love stories are beautiful in each of these books, the way the characters are written and how they work through their insecurities together always makes me emotional. This one was no exception! I loved Nova and seeing more of the Porter family, but Charlie!! I love with my whole heart. So relatable but so charming and sweet!! I love how much he cares about everyone else and especially Nova. I love romance novels where the guy is fully obsessed with the girl and can’t think about anything else and this is definitely giving that!
I’ve loved this series so much and I’m really going to miss these characters. I loved seeing the couples from previous books being so happy together in this one. It’s definitely a comforting series I’ll be rereading in the future and I can’t wait to read more from this author.
I absolutely love this series so I was beyond excited to be approved for an early copy from Netgalley.
Lovelight Farm books are my happy place. A perfect combination of romance, plot and the feel good factor.
Nova and Charlie are just what we've been waiting for. I didn't want it to end. Delighted to see that the door isn't completely closed for more from this little town. I'll be eagerly hoping for more.
i am so sad that this is the final book in this series. they’re my comfort characters for sure and i absolutely adored charlie and nova. nova is for sure my favourite girly and charlie and beckett are my fave men <33 i hope bk borison writes more romance series forever x
Thank you so much NetGalley for this e-arc. I enjoyed every second of this book!
I absolutely loved how Charlie and Nova's relationship blossomed in this book. Their chemistry was off the charts, and their banter kept me entertained throughout.
And let's not forget about the charming small-town vibes and the lovable side characters! They added so much depth and warmth to the story, making it a joy to read.
Overall, this series has been a delightful journey, and I'm eagerly awaiting whatever B.K. Borison has in store next!
5 bright and warm forever stars !!! I loved this so so much I’m going to struggle to put it into words beyond gushing about how amazing everything was. This was a warm, soft and wholly perfect goodbye to Inglewood. A joy to read in all ways.
Nova and Charlie stole my heart so quickly and effortlessly, I saw so much of each of them in myself and it amplified the story in every way. Their struggles/inner thoughts were mine and seeing them get all that they deserved had me so teary eyed and emotional. I couldn’t be happier for two fictional characters !!! Tears tears tears ok. The fact I cried in public for this should say everything necessary about how touching the writing and characters are.
Nova & Charlie are simply perfect for each other, truly meant to be, and it was a joy to join them on their journey. Funny to hot to tender to adorably wholesome, every step of the way filled my heart. And oh was it hot!! The spice delivered!!
I’m being so sappy but this was actually just a wonderful reading experience and despite the fact I didn’t want it to end, I devoured this at an insane rate. Borison’s writing is impossible to pull away from.
Nova & Beckett’s sibling dynamic had me so soft, he’s the best big brother and all their scenes were so sweet and adorable. I love them and the whole Porter family!! The way they are with Charlie is just the sweetest thing, so healing. The whole of Inglewood is a dream but the characters, no matter how small, are such a treat and perfectly encapsulate the small town good vibes and comfort.
And the tattoos omg!! The tattoos had me in tears all over again, everything was just so tender and soft and adorable and wholesome. Seeing two characters who always wear masks let them down in front of each other and finally find peace together always goes straight to my heart and this did that in the best way. The epilogue too ok, iykyk, but geez B.K just yank my heart right out why don’t you. And the last line !!!! I LOVE when the title comes onto the page and the growth !! My heart couldn’t take it all.
The biggest thank you to B.K Borison, Pan Mac & Netgalley for the eArc in exchange for my honest thoughts. I loved it endlessly!!! Will be returning to this series and this book in particular a lot!
4.5⭐
Seeing this on NetGalley was such a pleasant surprise! I read and enjoyed the first three books in the Lovelight Farms series in 2022 and definitely thought that Mixed Signals was the last we'd seen of this series. I am so glad I was wrong! Business Casual very quickly became my favourite of the Lovelight Farms books for sure! I fell in love with both the main characters almost immediately and loved seeing the development of their relationship! The communication between Nova and Charlie was absolutely top tier and their golden retriever, black cat vibes were simply fantastic! Throughout the whole Lovelight Farms series, I've loved the found family aspect and that was true in this book too. It was so great to see Charlie find his place in the world after feeling for so long that he doesn't belong anywhere, and the way Nova helped him to finally feel like he belonged was beautiful. I'm also a sucker for a hurt/comfort trope and B.K. Borison wrote that perfectly into this novel, while never taking away from the fact that Nova was strong enough to take care of herself even while learning to accept help from Charlie and the rest of her friends and family. I'm sad to say goodbye to this series but I can't wait to reread and fall in love with the books all over again!
Summary:
Local tattoo artist Nova Porter doesn’t have time for long term romance. She’s opening her very own tattoo studio, Ink and Wild, in a month’s time and her life is a flurry of deadlines, paperwork and design. She has the business side of her life down, just not the casual.
She definitely doesn’t count on Stella’s brother - fun-loving, impeccably dressed investment banker Charlie Mitford - to be the one to make her reconsider her stance on letting her hair down and having some fun. They’ve always been friends but with him in NYC and her in Inglewild, she has routinely shut down any flirtation. However, with him in town for the next few weeks, and her not wanting anything serious to distract her, a casual fling might be the perfect arrangement for them both. That is, until they catch feelings that are very much not causal…
My thoughts:
I didn’t think that Beckett and Evie could be beaten as my top Inglewild couple but Charlie and Nova have managed it with Business Casual. This is probably my favourite BK Borison book so far, and concluded the series/waved goodbye to the town in the best possible way. It features some of my favourite things about the previous books (the phone tree! Beckett rescuing cute animals! Cameos from the other book couples!) but this is very much Charlie and Nova’s story, with all their vulnerabilities, complexities and - of course - their budding romance as the central focus.
If you’re looking for a cute small town romance with plenty of mutual pining and some steamy scenes then look no further. Fans of the series are going to love it as much as I did and I’m looking forward to seeing what BK Borison does next. A massive thank you to @netgalley and the publishers for this e-ARC.
"I always notice you, Nova Girl."
I was beyond excited to receive an ARC of Business Casual by B.K.Borison as I am a huge fan of the Lovelight Farms series. I absolutely loved this book so much, the story focuses on Charlie and Nova and it is full of romance, laughter and some tears too. A wonderful end to the Lovelight series.
Thank you so very much Netgalley and Pan Macmillan for the ARC.
Returning to Lovelight Farm was like that first cup of coffee in them morning - warm, inviting and comforting. It was really fun to read Nova and Charlie's story, two characters that I can say I focussed much on in the other Lovelight Farm novels. Charlie was incredibly endearing and it was great to see him find someone who saw him, and just as exciting for Nova to find someone who showed her that she could have all she wanted and more. I really enjoyed the ending and loved that both characters found the strenght to go after what the wanted - both in life and love. The ending of the novel had me wanting to go back to the beginning and read Stella and Luka's story again.
I will forever be indebted to you for letting me read this book early!
I am the biggest fan of Borison’s writing. She draws you in from the first page and makes you feel like a member of Inglewild. I absolutely adored Charlie and his softy heart. Him and Nova were everything I hoped for and this book delivered on all fronts - sweetness, spicey spice, heartfelt. Just like a big cuddle.
I would read anything that she writes. She can do no wrong.
So I was not a fan of book 1 so was kinda of scared about this one but OMG my expectations went over the roof and I was not disappointed
Charlie and Nova were so great.
I love how we had representations of ADHD and chronic migraine.
I lived seeing Charlie and the evolution of his character and how he thought that people didn’t want him there. For everything he wanted to make sure that people actually wanted him
Nova needed some like Charlie and together they were so great
I ate this book in 1 day!
Also him taking care of her and cutting heart shape strawberries was the cutest thing
Nova is Beckett's young sister. She's fierce and independant, and plans to launch her tattoo studio soon. She doesn't have time to get in a relationship.
Charlie is Stella's brother. He is funny and really busy, and he, too, doesn't have time for a girlfriend : he doesn't even live in Inglewild !
But when Nova offers one night, just to clear of every tension, he can't believe his fantasy has come to life, and he declines. Until he can't stand it.
Back to Lovelight farms so, and once again, it's the perfect mix between steamy moments and romantic ones, everything wrapped up in a lot of banter. Perfect friends, to friends with benefits, to friends to lovers, I couldn't put the book down, and I had to know how, once Charlie would have left Inglewild, these two would live without each other. And it was really cute !
5/5 Stars
Thank you to Netgalley and Pan Macmillian for providing me with an ARC.
I read Lovelight farms last year and for some reason never found the time to continue the series but I always have planned on coming back to it and this was the perfect return to the series. I think reading these in order would add to your connection to everyone but I got into this really fast even with only having read book 1. Business casual is a cute small town and opposites attract romance with the added element of lets get it out of our systems.
Nova Porter isn’t looking for love, she is happy for her friends and family that have found it but she wants to focus on getting her tattoo shop up and running. But she doesn’t plan on her attraction to Charlie, a buttoned up investment banker who is around for fun but never long. They both can’t fight the attraction so they agree to spend a night together to get it out of their systems but what happens when once isn’t enough?
I really love the trope of lets get this out of our systems, because it never works for them and always adds a fun element of complication to the start of their relationship. Nova doesn’t want a relationship so she explicitly tells Charlie that and he fully agrees as he is only in town for a month. But Charlie tries to keep is resulting feelings buried to respect what Nova wanted and Nova keeps thinking he will act on what feelings he seemingly has but then gets mad when he won’t. This is actually one example of miscommunication I didn’t mind and I found funny.
One thing I didn’t expect from this book was the amazing adhd representation. BK Borison does something I love with neurodiverse representation and makes it subtle and doesn’t come out and instantly say Charlie has adhd. She starts with showing the reader behaviors that to some may seem normal but to those who are neurodiverse especially who have ADHD like I do, we can see them and go, “ONE OF US, ONE OF US!” We see mentions of Charlie having everything scheduled and similar small things that don’t click to some people but then when it finally is mentioned that he has ADHD you can look back and go ohhh that makes sense. I have been seeing more and more neurodiverse representation in romance and it always makes me so happy because diversity belongs in the media to show people that they belong.
I really recommend this book whether you have read and loved the love light series or this is your introduction to BK Borison.
