Everything about this book was wonderful I don’t know where to start 😭 I absolutely loved being back with my favourite characters from the previous books - this one starts with Stella and Luka’s wedding 🥹 - as well as my favourite busybody small town, Inglewild ☎️

Charlie Milford may have just become my favourite Lovelight man (sorry Beckett) - he is a ray of sunshine, a flirt & a people pleaser, but as we get to know him we learn that really it’s a front for his insecurities, and he is always trying so hard to feel accepted. He broke my heart a little and I just want to give him a hug 🥺🫶🏼

Nova has a tough exterior, but underneath her dry wit and tattoos she has the biggest heart. She gives Charlie something he has never really had before - a home 🤍 Also I absolutely loved her relationship with Beckett, their scene made me cry 😭🫶🏼

I adored this book! I loved the banter and the chemistry between Nova and Charlie. I found myself giggling throughout the book at some of their scenes. I love the small town vibes and the meddling and nosey townies. Highly recommend!

So sad that the series is over but cannot wait to see what’s next!

Title: Business Casual By B.K. Borison

Release date: July, 16th, 2024

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️Stars

This is the final book in the Lovelight Series but can be read as a stand alone.

I absolutely adored this book from start to finish. Borison has a gift for blending humor, romance and spice into a story that's as delightful as it is entertaining. From laugh-out-loud moments to heartwarming surprises, every page had me hooked!

Nova Porter, a no-nonsense tattoo artist, is all business as she gears up to launch her new studio in Inglewild. Love is the last thing on her mind, but try telling that to her heart when it starts fluttering around the uptight investment banker, Charlie Milford. Desperate to quash her unexpected attraction, Nova suggests a one-night fling with Charlie, thinking it'll clear the air. But sparks fly and lines blur, leaving Nova and Charlie tangled up in a mess of feelings neither saw coming.

As Charlie sticks around to oversee Lovelight Farms, Nova's attempts to dodge him only fuel the flames of their chemistry. Despite their contrasting personalities, Charlie sees potential in their unlikely connection and sets out to win Nova over—with plenty of charm and a few cheesy pickup lines along the way.

I loved how the main male character's ADHD was depicted in the story. It offered a fresh perspective, allowing us to delve into his inner thoughts and challenges, while the female lead provided much-needed support and empathy.

Their chemistry filled the story with a delightful blend of tenderness and thrill, keeping me completely captivated.

Even though I have not read the earlier books in the series, I was completely absorbed in the story and now I'm eager to delve into the rest of the series.

If you're in need of a pick-me-up, look no further than "Business Casual". Trust me, you won't regret diving into this!

With Business Casual, this series has cemented itself as one of my favourite romance series. I love the cosy small town vibes full of hilarious shenanigans, I love how we follow the seasons in these different installments, and I love how much we see of all the characters in each different book. I also love how consistent the vibe and atmosphere of the story is in four different books, with eight different main characters who all have their own personalities and problems. Nova and Charlie were both amazing main characters, making this book my second favourite in the series, directly after In the Weeds.

When you finish a book at 1:30am and instantly head to the notes app on your phone to start writing a review... You know it was a good one!

Business Casual was everything and more, I was not ready for my time in Inglewild to end, but this story was so utterly perfect I don't at all feel like I've said goodbye. I genuinely feel like all the characters are just carrying on living their happiest lives and that one day I'll pop back and see them.

Business Casual is the fourth book in the Lovelight Farms series and whilst these 4 books are individual stories and could in theory be read alone, I think the best reading experience would be reading them in chronological order. You’ll get to know the characters, their back stories etc and have no spoilers.

Anyone who knows me will know I fell head over heels for Lovelight Farms, I was there googling how possible it was to open a Christmas Tree Farm in the UK and debating if my car needed another tree air freshener. I adored Luka and Stella's story and waxed lyrical about that to anyone who would listen.

In the Weeds was next and my heart absolutely broke for Beckett and Evie. I adored these two like my life depended on it. Beckett was everything. Grumpy, soft, in need of love…but my does that man have a way with words! Evie was the sweetest and the happiness they found in loving each other was a dream.

Then along came Mixed Signals and once again I fell hard (yes I googled opening a bakery). Caleb and Layla were adorable, they’re both such warm rays of sunshine and I just wanted to wrap them up in happiness. The spice was on point with this one and their dynamic and banter was off the charts.

Then finally Business Casual. I was waiting for this book like I wait for autumn every single year. I saw the US Arcs go up on netgalley and checked so often it was verging on ridiculous to see if the UK ones had gone up. In my head knowing my chances of getting one were pretty slim, but that I'd try anyway! Then the fateful day came when BK Borison shared that UK arcs were up. I don't think I've ever tried to log in so fast, in my haste I typed my password wrong multiple times, couldn't get in and then had to go into a call for work! But fear not dear reader as I remembered the password was saved on my iPad and within seconds I was in and had put in my request.... Then... The wait. I tried to not think about it, expecting a decline, expecting a thanks...but no.
Then 2 days before my birthday I woke up to an approval email, it is no word of a lie when I say I squealed!

Spoilers ahead…

I have never downloaded a book so fast and got straight in. It had been a while since I finished Mixed Signals (over a year) but I was too impatient to get myself up to speed, so I just went straight in. Within a handful of pages it was like I’d never left Inglewild though. B.K pulls you straight back in with her captivating writing and characters that just come to life on the page.

Charlie is an absolute golden retriever, but with a good dose of cheekiness which quite frankly makes him perfect. As an investment banker with a fondness for ridiculously priced 3-piece suits and wrist watches there was so much potential for him to look down on the small town and day to day life. But actually it’s quite the opposite and when the opportunity to send Stella (his sister) and Luka away on a honeymoon let’s him take over looking after the farm - he can’t help but take it.

Meanwhile Nova (Beckett’s younger sister) is working her socks off prepping to open her own tattoo studio and fighting the internal battles of not wanting to disappoint her brother. Wracked with nerves and anxiety, and also taking on probably more than she can manage, having Charlie there to lend a hand and entertain her with banter is a welcome constant.

But when the banter changes pace and the two anti-relationship friends find themselves making a pact for one night together to get the tension out of their systems… there was really only one way this story was heading!

I loved both our main characters. Charlie, as mentioned above is the perfect golden retriever, he would do anything for Nova (and consistently does!), he’s a chronic people pleaser and is fighting his own demons and struggles as he tries so hard to not intrude on lives, to not make himself a nuisance. Hiding it all behind the cheeky fun loving guy persona. I wanted to sit down with Charlie and tell him he is so worthy of love, that he deserves to be looked after and that he needs Nova just as much as she needs him.
Nova is feisty and determined. She has big goals and even bigger worries. Her people pleasing and need to not disappoint anyone was so relatable and without a doubt I just wanted Nova to be my friend the more and more I read. She’s so strong and I was so proud of her. She is so determined she needs to do this alone, to not ask for help, to not be seen as weak.

Ultimately we get to see these two heal together, to lean on each other in a way neither of them could ever see coming. Yes this story starts with a lust filled one night stand, but it soon becomes apparent that the affection and love has been there between them for so long and that the attraction goes so much deeper than a couple of friends clearing the air of sexual tension. The romance story that follows has the perfect blend of sugar and spice, I found myself entirely consumed by them and breaking each and every time one of them was not quite brave enough to say how they really felt.

The happy ending was a given, but the journey to get there could not have been better. This book had me laughing, crying, swooning and squealing in equal measure. It was perfect. These two characters and the home they find in each other will live rent free in my head and heart for a long time to come.

Finally, that last wrap up scene with all our favourite characters. I don’t think I can ever thank B.K enough for this. Normally I find the scene with returning characters a little jarring, they’re normally a chunk of time after the story ends and leave me feeling like I’ve missed a whole chunk of the characters lives. But this coming immediately at the end was just perfect (how many times can I say perfect in a review?!) it neatly wrapped up the storylines with a perfect bow on top, everyone there together, the dream friendship come family group, the perfect (there it is again) end to a wonderful series. I genuinely finished the last page feeling so many warm fuzzies and ready to make this series my whole personality, and whilst I know this is the last book in the series, I just feel like I could pop by and catch up with all my favourite characters any time. Thank you B.K for this incredible series, I cannot wait to loose myself in your next world and fall in love with all the future characters you create.

Thank you to NetGalley and Pan Macmillan for the eARC of this book, I will be eternally grateful for getting to read this early.

This is very very sweet and I enjoyed it a lot. I was a bit wary going in as romance books are normally a miss for me but I liked this one a lot.

It’s the last instalment of Lovelight Farm series and I had an incredibly hard time starting to read this novel. I just didn’t want to say goodbye to the characters I loved, to the small town that charmed me, to the love stories that captivated me but also felt completely relatable. I imagined that there is no way this book will feel a proper sendoff. Oh, how wrong I was. The story of Charlie and Nova was an absolute pleasure and delight to read and it quickly became my favourite part of the series.
We have met both Charlie and Nova already: he is Stella’s half brother, charming, lovable, kind investment banker whose life is technically happening in New York but who spends in Inglewild as much time as he can physically spare, she is Beckett’s grumpy, hardworking tattoo artist sister, who is working on opening her own tattoo studio in Inglewild. What we don’t know about them is that they both feel lonely and also significant attraction to one another. Charlie’s insecurities prevent him from trying anything other than flirting, as he doesn’t believe he deserves it. Nova doesn’t things she has space and energy for anyone in her life, too busy trying to achieve perfection in order to make her family, especially her brother, proud. They are a good match, even if purely on physical terms. And that’s the route they take, a one night „to get each other out of their systems”. Even though it has never worked in history of mankind and romance genre.
The way the two main characters are built is absolutely fascinating to me. They seem like real humans, with all their feelings, emotions, passions, flaws and insecurities. They are genuine, which makes them extremely relatable. The way Nova feels indebted to her brother and works herself to the bone, even though she has nothing to prove (or to justify her anxiety about his reaction to her new studio), is real and raw and makes me wanna give her a hug and/or an inspirational speech. The way Charlie feels inadequate, undeserving, despite being loved and cared for by almost everyone, is so much like real life and also makes me wanna give him a hug and/or an inspirational speech. But what appreciate the most about them is that they communicate with each other, they say what they feel and think. Well, that is usually preceded by some anxiety, stress, misreading signals and overthinking, but still, leads to honestly and openness and makes it work so well.
The story is lovely and very well written, paced out in a logical and sensible manner. The development of the story is organic and doesn’t feel forced in any way. Situations and events occurring are not stacked up as the obvious plot devices, but as a result of choices made by characters. Adding just enough spice, not vulgar but rather tasteful and fitting in the plot right, makes it a perfect book to finalise the series.
I wholeheartedly recommend Business Casual, the book that brought all the joy to me, keeping me thinking about it for a long time afterwards. Perfection.

Thank you to Netgalley and Pan Macmillan and the author for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Bussines Casual is the last book in the lovelight series. About Nova and Charlie, two friends who only want something casual and spend one night together to get each other out of their systems.

I've been waiting for this book, i missed my lovelight babies and was little bit bittersweet with this book being the final book in this series. I adore the other 3 books. I adore luka and stella, beckett and evelyn, layla and caleb. But the thing is i didn't feel the same way to Nova and Charlie.

I do love them as individuals but together? not really.
I simply didn't feel any genuine chemistry between them. I know they started a little bit off with the friends and benefit situation but i wish i get to see more of them being domestic just those little things you know instead the nonstop smut scenes like i can't believe i said this but i skipped those parts. A few parts in the beginning were cute. but the next? CRINGE.

And the story got really repetitive in the middle it was so dragging. Basically just the same thing repeated and then they fucked and boom "oMG I lovE YoUuUu" i rolled my eyes.

It was very disappointing because them as an individuals as i mentioned have the chance to be a perfect couple but i just don't get why make it spicy but with zero connection between the two, like you can't convince me they love each other just because they slept with each other.

The only saving grace from this book are the moments from our previous beloved couples.

I am head over heels for Charlie and Nova, because B.K. Borison has done it yet again! She's woven this sunshine-filled, blanket-warm, snuggly treasure of a romance, among the red-brown of Inglewild in fall. We get to see everyone yet again (Luka and Stella are MARRIED!) in Inglewild, although moving a little further away from Lovelight here. The romance is both intimate and heart-pounding, balancing both a comforting, fireside warmth and a passion/love intense enough to rock the world. Charlie and Nova push and pull, give and take, but eventually become a moony-eyed honeymoon couple all over each other, each helping the other to find their place in the chaos of the world outside Inglewild.

I was absolutely thrilled to enter Porter family dinners, and to see Beck through Nova's eyes, plus seeing Charlie and his father after that one Thanksgiving dinner in Lovelight Farms had me biting at my nails. I never wanted this story to end; in my heart, I think, I'm still clinging on to everyone in Lovelight for dear life, because this is a home built by words. Can't wait for Ms Becs' next work!!

I was so happy when I got the approval email that I screamed 😂 I started reading the Lovelight series before I had my bookstagram account and it's my favourite small town romance series, so thank you for the ARC (I can't believe it's the last book in the series 😭).

It's been a while since book 3, so when I started reading this one, it felt like coming home. I honestly love this series so much that Inglewild and the people living there almost feel real.
I had a great time reading Business Casual and the main characters were amazing. Nova, a badass fmc with tattoos who's starting her own business and Charlie, a sweet guy escaping his stressful job in the city, are total opposites of each other but their banter and chemistry was incredibly well written. I think I even fell in love with Charlie. It made me very emotional how he acted like he was the life of the party on the outside and tried to please everyone, but on the inside, he felt like he wasn't really fitting in. What I liked most was both of their character development and how Nova and Charlie found a home in each other. The moment when Nova gave Charlie his first tattoo made me cry like crazy because it was so thoughtful and precious😭😍

I don't know what I'm going to do without this series, but Borison became one of my auto-buy authors and I'm looking forward to whatever comes next.

I didn't think I would love any of the pairings more than Stella and Luca but then this dropped and 😍 I ADORED Charlie and Nova. I loved the steady development of their relationship, some great communication between the two and healthy conversations about their feelings both with each other and others. It did make me want to go and get another tattoo 😂

Pretty sure this is the best Lovelight book yet... and such a great way to wrap up the Lovelight series. I always loved Luka, but Charlie might just be my new favorite???

The banter between Charlie and Nova is just so so soooooo good. And I feel like this definitely felt a bit faster paced than the previous Lovelight books just based on the nature of the whole 'one night stand to get it out of our systems'.

I also feel like this book was just so much more emotional to me than the others and I don't even now why really??? But yes. I cried in the first 30 pages and then throughout the last 50 pages, so thanks for that Becca.

Between the imposter syndrome and people pleasing tendencies I feel like I could relate so so much to both Charlie and Nova. (Charlie must be protected at all costs)

I received an ARC copy of this novel for an honest review.

I have enjoyed all of the books in this series and the final instalment did not disappoint. Nova and Charlie were fantastic main characters who played off each other well.

The plot was well paced, with no forced drama in the last third - just character decisions and actions that feel suited to the characters in question.

I really liked the found family aspect of this series - in particular seeing Charlie find his own version of family and happiness - especially considering the dynamics with his father. I would have liked to see more interaction between Charlie and Nova and Nova’s family - in particular her parents.

I love the setting of this whole series - the supporting characters are fun and add a sense of humour and community to create a well grounded setting.

I would love to read more by this author and would be really interested in reading more about Nova and Beckett’s sisters and Selene.

I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.

I adored this! I can't put it into words how much I loved this book. One of the best grumpy sunshine romance I've read.It was executed perfectly. I honestly can't believe it took me this long to read this author and I can see what the hype is about. can't wait to read more! 5 stars and more!

4.5 stars!! this was such a fun, wholesome story!!! usually the plot would sound rather cliché but i‘ve felt soooooo many emotions while reading this🥹 the writing just felt so authentic and real, that the serious moments really hit in a relatable way. also CAN WE PLEASE NORMALIZE ELIMINATING THE MISCOMMUNICATION PLOT??? this book proves that two ADULTS dealing with relationship problems can be enjoyable to experience as a reader if the characters just say what they want and how they feel without making everything insanely dramatic and toxic. i love love love their relationship and the way they slowly learnt on their own that being in a committed relationship needs a lot of hard work but does not take away from anything. this book is very similar to „done & dusted“ but the writing is what makes this actually GOOD! haven‘t read the other lovelight farm books but now i wanna!

If Borison wasn't already an auto-buy author for me, and she definitely was, this would 100% have sealed the deal. Fiery banter, delicious tension, and an utterly enchanting love story has made this my favourite in the Lovelight series. Both Nova and Charlie absolutely stole my heart.

By far one of my favourite books from the Lovelight Farms series. You do not have to read the entire series, as this could be read as a standalone, but it is highly recommended to read all of them. Nova and Charlie are one of my favourite couples because I felt they experienced the most realistic relationship. Nova is a grumpy girl and Charlie is a sunshine character. They had some sweet moments together and there is no third-act breakup but real-life experiences, including being a long-distance couple. This series makes small-town living sound so fun and adds some irresistible charm.

A lovely swoon-worthy book, so many great moments, and such sweet quotes! Sad its the final instalment in the series, but a series I would recommend to everyone!

Loved it!
