Business Casual is the fourth book in the Lovelight farm series and follows the story of Nova and Charlie. Initially the two enter into a friends with benefits type situation which they refer to as 'business casual' before eventually falling in love. This book also follows their struggles in their careers as well as their family dynamics and friendships.

I really enjoyed the setting of this book and the fact that it was based in Autumn meant this book felt quite festive which made it a fun read. Borison's writing style is very easy to read and I thought that the pacing of the story was spot on so I got through this quite quickly. I thought that the representation of Charlie's ADHD and Nova's migraines were handled well and as someone who suffers from migraines I like that Nova's felt very realistic and weren't just her having a bad headache but also experiencing all the other symptoms that come along with migraines.

I do wish I had read the rest of the series before this one however I thought that the series was made up of interconnected stand alones so thought I could jump into this one having not read the others. Throughout this book, characters are introduced by name or name dropped with no further explanation of who they are which can be quite frustrating and at the beginning I found it overwhelming as we are suddenly introduced to an entire town's worth of characters at once. Additionally the romance felt extremely rushed however I'm not sure if we get hints of Nova and Charlie in the other books which would make it seem more natural.

This book has a lot of very long, explicit scenes which personally I am not a fan of. In the majority of cases these scenes would span at least two chapters as we get both characters' perspectives on it and the scenes are explained in quite graphic detail. This is purely down to personal preference however I have once again been betrayed by the cute, innocent cartoon covers.

Overall this book was okay but nothing memorable. Perhaps if I had read the rest of the series this book would have landed differently.

I have read this book 3 times since it's release... say no more!

HE IS OBSESSED, oh my days. This could well and truly be my new favourite trope. Also Nova being a lil grumpy make the whole 'he's down bad' even better.

Goodbye Inglewild we'll visit again soon (hopefully).

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of this book!

I really enjoyed this book, a great continuation of the series and I loved both of the characters in this. It’s just a fluffy little romance but with some deeper issues dropped in.

I have always found BK Borisons’ works to be fast reads and I flew through this one!

I love reading books about characters that are literal green flags. I do wish we saw more of the friends dynamic between Charlie and Nova before they became lovers but overall, I loved this!

The Lovelight series by B.K. Borison is one of my favourite romance series, and Business Casual didn't just give us Charlie and Nova's story, but brought all the characters from the previous novels back for a final hurrah. I loved both Charlie and Nova and could connect with the latter's experience of migraines.
Business Casual ticked all the boxes for me: a strong sense of family and community in a small town setting, lots of quirky side characters (the town's phone tree is legendary), funny dialogues and plenty of flirting, diverse rep (ADHD and migraines), and a good dash of spice. If you haven't yet picked up this series, I highly recommend it. Needless to say that I already have my eyes on the author's next series...

Book review 📚
Business Casual by B.K Borison
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It is not surprising that this book has rated 5 stars, when its equally as good as the others in the series. For smaller books, they are seriously impactful. Each and every book in this series is impeccable and absolutely amazing! I can’t wait to see where Borison goes next.

Borison is so thorough and thoughtful when writing a book. The emotions are raw and yet handled so well, its truly beautiful. I love how Borison is capable of capturing the emotions of the characters in such depth and detail, it really does make the book come to life.

If you are looking for funny, sweet, cute and cozy then this series is for you.

The perfect end to the perfect series! Lovelight farms is such a gloriously happy place to escape to and I have loved the flow from each of the books as they lead into the next love story. Though the backdrop remains the same, I never tire of the small town trope and the characters within it. It is well and truly a comfort read.

In the final book we follow Nova and Charlie, two characters that are just perfect for each other. This was maybe the easiest love story of them all. They simply balance each other, and fall right into it. It was a very sweet, very pure kind of affection between the two of them and I really liked how this one didn’t mess around with a miscommunication trope. It was a refreshing take on friends to more than friends ;) to lovers.

I’m sad to leave behind Lovelight farms but it definitely feels like a place I will return to, especially around Christmas time. The season of love after all!

This is the final instalment of the Lovelight - series but you can definitely read this as a standalone. I haven’t ready any of the other books yet, but this one just made me even more interested in the other couples and their stories.
Especially because I really enjoyed the small town setting.

Nova and Charlie were the absolute cutest! You can see with each conversation they had, how much they were vibing! Loved the humour, them bantering for the sake of banter, but even more so their flirting.
I was also surprised how much I could relate to Nova’s wish for independence as well as Charlie's insecurities on belonging somewhere and to someone.
Also YAAAAY for migraine representation.

I’m not only excited to read the other books in this series, but also already excited for the author’s next book!

3.5 stars!

Nova Porter isn’t looking for love, especially not with a guy like Charlie Milford. But there’s something about him that draws her in. She’s trying to stay focused, but every time he’s around, she gets totally distracted. So, she comes up with a plan: one night, no strings attached, to get him out of her system. But after their night together, things don’t go as planned. With Charlie sticking around town, avoiding him isn’t easy, and he’s made it his mission to prove he’s worth her time.

First of all, I have to admit that I’m guilty of reading this series out of order! I talked to some fans, and they all said I would’ve enjoyed it more if I had read the previous books first. I have this habit of picking up series out of order because my TBR list is massive, so when a book catches my attention, I dive in. If it hooks me, then I go back and read the whole series.

Let’s just say there’s a strong found family element in this series, and while reading this one, I felt a bit lost—like an intruder with no backstory. Moral of the story: if you want to read this series, start from the beginning.

Anyway, I bought book one a few days ago, and it’s sitting on my shelf. I’ll probably pick it up around Christmas time because it gives me those vibes! I’m giving this series another try, and I’m excited to see if it works better for me!

Arc received by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Despite the initial bout of miscommunication which usually irks me in a romance, Charlie and Nova became fast favourites of mine.
An easy 5 stars, this book has it all. All the usual Lovelight characters we know and love but I adored getting to know these two. The ultimate grumpy sunshine pair!
Loved the migraine rep from our girl Nova too. That was sensitively done and I felt seen.
Sad to see the end of the series but one I’ll reread over and over!

This book follows the siblings of Stella from book one and Beckett from book two - Charlie and Nova. Charlie is Stella's half-brother who she reconnected with in book one when she found out who her father was and the two of them have been spending time together, getting to know each other so he spends a lot of time at Lovelight Farms and this is where he met Nova, Beckett's youngest sister.

The two of them have a connection but it's shown by teasing and flirting, nothing particularly serious until the night of Stella's wedding when Charlie finally gets Nova to dance with him. Nova has been pretty stressed recently as she's been opening her own tattoo studio and she really needs to unwind and Charlie might just be the perfect person to spend a night with.

Charlie is happy to do whatever Nova wants, even if it means only one night with her. He's used to not being people's first choice - he's too loud, too big and too much for most people. So he works hard to be wanted in people's lives, and that means doing whatever they want him to do.

Nova has always felt like she doesn't need anyone else in her life, or any help with anything. She's perfectly capable of doing things on her own and she feels like she has to prove to Beckett that his faith in her has never been misplaced.

The two compliment each other really well, not only do they have a connection in the bedroom, but they really boost each other up and they're quietly there for the other person when they need it. Even though sometimes their communication could be better, though as soon as Nova realises Charlie needs words she's more than happy to give him that.

I loved them both, they were such great characters and so good for each other, so supportive of what the other person is doing. My favourite part was when the whole town got together to put together a presentation convincing Charlie to leave New York where he's not happy and move to Lovelight Farms permanently. It's what he's always wanted, to feel like he belongs, and he finally gets to see that the people most important to him feel the same way about him.

Thanks to NetGalley and Pan Macmillan for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

After waiting so long for our final trip to Lovelight Farms I was not disappointed. Nobody writers tender love and longing like BK Borison. I was rooting for them from start to finish. Charlie and Nova will live in my heart forever!

The finale of B.K. Borison's 'Lovelight Farms' series did not disappoint. It has all of the elements I love in a good story: atmospheric setting (I mean, who doesn't want to cosy up at Layla's bakehouse?), varied cast of characters, drama, romance and wit aplenty. I also love when we have met our main characters already, as periphery members of the previous titles, and sassy Nova and smooth Charlie made their marks as the siblings of other MCs, endearing themselves to us before we ever really got to know them.
This book is as sweet, sexy and fun as its predecessors, with all the sparkle I associate with the series. I'm so glad I got to enjoy the journey these two go on (I think Charlie is probably my favourite male MC of the series?), and I 100% cried more than once reading the latter half of the book, which says enough!
Already can't wait to reread these.

5★

Thank you NetGalley for the e-arc of this book. (Even though I actually read it pretty late, but let’s not talk about that.)

I loved this! This is closer to a 6-star read than a 5. That is how much I enjoyed this book!

Thoughts:
☆ Well, first of all, this might be my favorite romance series and I’m saying that as someone who is not a romance girlie. It’s not my favorite genre to read at all. I like to pick one up here and there. But this book? This series? Amazing, loved it, a favorite! I just wanna re-read the whole thing like right now.
☆ I knew this would be a 5-star even before I picked it up. Mainly because with each book in the series the rating got higher and higher for me. I just knew this’d be it and I was right.
☆ One reason why I couldn’t give the previous books in the series a 5-star rating was the miscommunication in there. It just drove me crazy to be honest. I’m a big fan of communication. And that’s what I got from this book! I couldn’t be happier about the way Nova and Charlie talked to each other. They weren’t perfect but nobody is. And that’s one of the things I loved about it.
☆ Speaking of Nova and Charlie, let’s talk a bit about the characters. Charlie! I loved him so so much. He was so imperfectly perfect that I adored him throughout the whole story. I also saw a lot of myself in him and that just made me feel seen in a way. I cannot say enough how much I adored him. And Nova as well. She’s probably one of my favorite characters too. Especially towards the end when she realized relationships don’t take anything away from you - just her whole thing made me like her even more. I also loved them together and how they respected one another.
☆Not gonna mention other characters as this is the last one in the series and we got to know them all throughout this whole thing. I adore the town and every single person in it. What else is there to say?
☆ The writing was amazing as well. I enjoy this author’s writing a lot. And this book specifically was probably the hottest in the whole series—while also being really, really adorable.
☆ Also, let me just say… the ending? Hello? I screamed, I cried. Best ending. Loved it.

If you enjoyed the previous one in the series, you’re gonna love this one! If you haven’t read the series, pick it up, it’s worth your time! (And I’m saying this as someone who isn’t the biggest fan of romance nor series.)

As for me, I’m picking up whatever this author writes!

i loved this book! charlie really is the blue print for all men.

it was really nice to read about a vulnerable mmc for a change. charlie has been an amazing side character in all the other books, so to see how his mind works was wonderful.

i loved novas character and her sassy and snarky attitude. everything about the two of them was perfect and i loved how they complimented each other!

Charlie and Nova have known each other forever. Charlie likes to flirt, and Nova always has a cutting response to anything Charlie says. However recently, their chemistry has been undeniable. They decide to get together for one night, and everything will go back to normal the next day. Right?

The fourth instalment of the Lovelight Farms series was just as fun as the first three. With the black cat - golden retriever trope and lots of tension, this was the perfect way to end such a sweet series. I can’t wait to see what the author does next.

If you are looking for a sweet, funny, small town romance. Read the first three books too🩷

Thank you NetGalley, B.K. Borison, and Pam Macmillan for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

A sweet and sexy addition to this comforting series

I fell in love with this comfort read series when I read Lovelight Farms, a book about a Christmas tree farm in the middle of the summer two years ago, so it was with a bittersweet feeling that I began reading the final book in the series!
These books are the cutest, like getting a hug, and are generally quite low on drama, and I've just loved the community in Inglewild. The meddling friends and family are so close knit, I adore them!

So to the latest book Business Casual, the author B.K. Borison says this is the last book, but that she's left the door slightly open as she can't beat to say goodbye to the characters who helped fight her loneliness during COVID 😭
I loved it!
🌹It featured all the previous couple and the meddling but endearing folk from the town.
🌹The whole we're attracted to each other but don't want a relationship, so let's bang and get it out of our system..because that always works 😂
🌹Top notch banter and flirting
🌹Caring relationships
🌹Nova, I loved her and her tattoo shop, follow yours dreams girl!
🌹Charlie, Charlie, always putting everyone else first 💛
🌹loneliness and anxiety
🌹all the emotions

So yeah I love this series! I recommend reading them in order to get to know all of the character properly 👍
