By far one of my favourite books I've read this year… I loved every minute…
In "The Eighth House" by Linda Segtnan, the haunting discovery of a young girl's face in an old newspaper sets off a gripping journey of obsession and revelation. As researcher Linda delves into the unsolved murder of Birgitta Sivander, she finds herself inexorably drawn to the tragic tale, even as she navigates the complexities of impending motherhood. Segtnan's narrative is both deeply personal and intellectually compelling, exploring the persistence of violence through generations while tenderly evoking the transformative power of new life. Engrossing and poignant, this book is a testament to the relentless pursuit of truth and the healing potential of understanding our shared past.
This was a heart-breaking read to not only discover the crime but to see the years where the culprit is never found, kudos to Linda for feeling so strongly about the case to bring it to public attention (at least for myself as I wasn't aware of the case until reading this book) and all the research she did.
