Perfect holiday escapism
This lovely feel-good novel by Jane Lynfoot takes us to the cosy small Cornish town of St Aiden where Londoner Florence May falls in love with a beach hut she‘s inherited. She opens it as an outpost to her friend Clemmie‘s Little Cornish Kitchen and soon makes lots of new friends with whom she implements several successful small businesses and gets active in the community…

(This review is based on a review copy from the publisher)
First things first: a cosy Cornish romance differs from a cosy Cornish murder mystery in large part by replacing the murderer with a property developer and those two literary devices being interchangeable a quarter of the way into the twenty-first century speaks volumes about Cornish and English culture and where we are all headed. The property developer is seen mostly at a distance and serves to present the more central characters with an ill-defined but looming threat which gets them all (mostly) working together for the common weal. This is all seen through the eyes of one Florence May, who is trying to build a new life after health issues have brought an end to her most important relationship, her hopes of a family and even her ability to voice “audible” books for a living. In the love and hope of her friends, she overcomes all of these issues through a series of hilarious accidents which teach her to accept that she deserves a new life and that others are perfectly willing to share her worst moments as well as her best.
There’s quite a lot of baking, too, and the recipes are all at the back of the book.

Another fabulous book in the series, and don't worry if you have not read any of the books yet as they can be read as stand-alone.
When Florence, aka Floss, comes back to the Cornish village of St Aiden she is hoping for a spot of peace and quiet. The Beach Hut is going to provide her with that, unfortunately when she moves in she discovers that to be there she has to have a business. Luckily for her, she has wonderful and amazing friends and they all pile in to help where they can for Floss to remain in the Beach Hut.
Further along, the beach is another newcomer, it just so happens that she knows him. I won't spoil how it is she knows him, but I will say that has nothing to do with them being in a relationship!
The author brings back some favourite characters, there are some new additions, one makes an appearance at the beginning of the book and another further on. This reminds Floss of what she is not able to have and the battles she has been through.
She is tough and she has been through some challenges, but she is not alone, she has her sister and her Mum, but, well they are not all on the same page. Add to that, an opinionated teen, a dog, a spot of swimming and starting a new business, well there is enough to keep Floss on her toes.
The author has brought in some serious themes to the story, one of which is something that the author knows of. I didn't realise this when I read the book, but there were things in the story that felt personal and it made sense when I read the Authors Notes.
As well as squabbling families there are some serious moments for Floss and her new neighbour to sort out. Plans to develop the bay, sort out new recipes and get plans in place to save a local feature are all part of this story. The main focus, well one of the main ones is the Beach Hut Cafe. Floss has her unique twist on what makes a pudding and now I have read this book I can see myself having a go at some of the ideas. Luckily there is a recipe section at the end of the book to help with that.
This is a gorgeous book that flows well, the sense of community and friendship is strong as are the tempting delicious puddings and bakes. The story is about finding your own self and working out how to be happy in your own skin. There is romance and humour and a certain amount of flirting which all works well within the pages of the book. Fabulous story and one I would definitely recommend.

Apologies late in the day BUT my sons football ⚽️ went on longer than I thought lol! Thanks to @rachelsrandomresources , for allowing me to be part of the book blog tour, for this book. Thanks also to @netgalley & @onemorechapterhc . As you would be able to tell, I LOVE a crime/gangland but every so often … a gorgeous little feel good book like this, catches my eye!! 💛 This book came out on the 12th July 💛. Florence leaves London to return to her home village in Cornwall. She has come through a bad breakup and want to be home to heal her heart. She has bought a beach hut that she lives in BUT then learns she has to run a business from her Beach Hut, which she didn’t notice in the sale agreement! The Beach h Hut Cafe Is Born……
💛 This was such a lovely cosy feel book. You know, one of those, that you are smiling by the time the end comes. Also I’ve always wanted to visit Cornwall …. Maybe one day but I live a good bit away 🏴 . Thank you @janelinfoot - such a good read!

Feel good book, with friendship, love and laughter. A new beginning that was supposed to be a quiet haven was anything but. I could imagine myself in the fictional coastal St Adens. Great summer read.

I’ve not read any books by this author before but I will definitely read more. I loved reading about life in St Aiden and would love to have a friendship group like that. I enjoyed the bang to the start of the story and whilst it was a predictable read it was super enjoyable too

I am a long time fan of Jane’s books and so I can happily confirm that this is another wonderful addition in her world of romantic, heartwarming and gorgeous stories. The Cornish beach hut Café Contains all of my favourite things, it’s sat in Cornwall, involves a food theme , seaside theme and of course romance, I didn’t hesitate to dive into this idyllic story.
I have been struggling a bit lately and books have helped me keep my sanity whilst I felt out of control with everything else, I could escape to happy places like St Aiden I will always extremely grateful to authors for the world they provide for me to escaping into. I don’t think a lot of authors appreciate how much their books provide mental health assistance to some, I for one I’m extremely grateful to every whose book has ever made me smile laugh cry and remind me that life isn’t as bad as my brain is making me feel some days.
I think I enjoyed this book even more as Floss’s story focus on her new start/fresh beginning upon her return to Saint Aidan and trying to find some order, new normal after leaving London, I particularly embraced watching her find her feet and her growth as she embraced her new life. I loved the support she has from family, friends, and her wonderful community. This book is a standalone but there are others in St Aiden, but you don’t need to have read them, you’ll just want to by the end.
If you’re looking for a wonderful story about second chances, friends, romance, community and best of all hope then The Cornish Beach Hut Café is your perfect summer read, if like me you need to escape then it’s the perfect medication too !

BLOG TOUR REVIEW
Review for 'The Cornish Beach Hut Café' by Jane Linfoot.
What an absolutely stunning read by the extremely talented Jane Linfoot!!! A perfectly gorgeous book!!! The vivid descriptions left me feeling the fresh air of Cornwall and feeling the sea breeze. The title, synopsis and cover suited the storyline perfectly.
Where on Earth have you been all my life Jane?!? What an absolutely stunning escapism that will turn any frown upside down! I have no idea how I have never read any of your books before this one but I am so glad I have now rectified that and this book will most definitely NOT be my last!! This book is absolutely rammed full of love, choices, cake, happiness, community, hope, desserts, second chances, friendship, stargazing, family, a dog named Shadow and everything you could ask for and more in an absolutely stunning escapism to gorgeous Cornwall!!!!Its one of the most heart-warming I've read in a long time. It made me laugh, cry, smile and fall in love with St Aidan. I absolutely loved the gorgeous atmosphere and surroundings being based in the beautiful Cornwall. In fact, I have not long returned from a beautiful holiday in St Ives, Cornwall and Jane's absolutely brilliant imagery swept me straight back to Cornwall at every turn of the page!! It made me want to jump in the car and go straight back there but sadly I have to wait until May to return again! However, this book of bliss made me feel like I had returned there for a short while until I had devoured the book in one sitting! Jane's evocative writing talents ensures the reader is flown away on holiday where they feel the sand on their toes, hear the crashing of the waves, feel their hearts beating faster with Florence's and will leave you tingling with warmth, smiling with happiness and light hearted!! It is one of those stunning books that it is impossible to say just one more chapter to. I gave up even trying to lie to myself saying just one more in the end as every time I came to the end of one chapter I just HAD to know what was going to happen next and this ended up happening so many times I ended up devouring the whole book in a several hour sitting!! I just could not put my kindle down and I was absolutely gutted when I came to the end of the book! It genuinely felt like I had escaped rainy Wales for a few hours and was soaking up the sun and fresh air in the beautiful St Aidan. I am really hoping that Jane will allow me to return there soon with another of her absolutely amazing books!! . The storyline was sweet, fun, romantic, uplifting and everything you want in a heart warming romance and I completely fell head over heels in love!!! This book is an uplifting breathe of fresh air!!! It ended absolutely perfectly!!!
CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULES, PACK YOUR BAGS AND GET READY TO GO ON A STUNNING HOLIDAY TO CORNWALL WITH FLORENCE AND SHADOW!!
The characters were all strong, well defined and realistic. I fell in love with every single one of them, even if some took longer than others!! I was gutted when I came to the end. This book would make a gorgeous series and I would love to meet all the characters again. I was completely invested in Florence from the first page, well I was going to say until the end but she is still in my mind along with Shadow, Clemmie, Nell and the rest of the amazing gang!! I also really enjoyed learning about all the different members of the community and it reflected a small town community perfectly. There were so many other characters that I really enjoyed meeting and who will be missed that it would take too long to name them all. However, I highly recommend you pick up a copy of this stunning book and meet them all for yourselves! I guarantee you will not regret it and you can thank me later!! I have also got to include Florence's gorgeous dog Shadow as one of my favourite characters!! I am a HUGE animal lover and actually run my own cat sanctuary called Golden Oldies Cat Rescue And Hospice (you can look me up on social media if you are interested) so it is always a HUGE bonus to have animals in books, especially ones who play such big parts!!! I could go on and on but I best stop there as I don't want to give anything away and potentially spoil it for future readers!. Needless to say many of the characters made an impact on me and it would be lovely to see them all again (Hint, Hint Jane... A series please :) ) !!!
Get wrapped up warm, put the fire, make your self a hot chocolate or get your towel and book ready and relax on the beach and clear your schedule ready to get lost in this unputdownable heart warming, gorgeous romantic comedy!.
Well done Jane on an absolutely gorgeous book. This is exactly why I would like to welcome you to my favourite romance authors list!!! I am thoroughly looking forward to reading more of your books past and future. Congratulations on a stunning success!!
Overall an absolutely stunning page turning romance that will make you smile, laugh and keep you up all night absorbing the pages.

I enjoyed how the author evokes a believable sense of community and emotion in this story that begins with Floss coming home, a cancer survivor with a different life focus than when she left the village to live in London. An engaging balance of humour, poignancy, and romance creates an immersive story. I like the characters, the relationships, and the Cornish coastal setting.

Blurb
Florence May never expected to trade the high life of London for the cosy comfort of a beach hut in her Cornish hometown, but the moment she steps inside she knows it was the best choice she ever made. The fact that it comes with a requirement that she sets up a business on site? A minor setback that’s easily fixed by opening up a surfside outpost of her friend Clemmie’s Little Cornish Kitchen … where Floss finds herself unexpectedly flourishing.
And when the hotel owner next door sets out to buy the land out from under her? Floss calls on her loyal friends to help her save her little slice of heaven. Because if there’s one thing the community of St Aidan does well, it’s banding together to make the most of every second, whatever life throws at you.
My Opinion
The Cornish Beach Hut Café is going to make for a lovely beach read this summer. As Floss returns to St Aidan it was great to see how she really found her feet - the character development was realistic. Things don't always go as Florence has planned, but with the community spirit you can guarantee that everyone will come together to make things work.
This is the third book I have read by Jane Linfoot and the writing style is growing on me. I was unsure at first but now I am definitely looking out for future releases.
Rating 4/5

For fans of Jane Linfoot, her latest offering is a delightful return to St Aidan, reuniting us with some familiar faces. However, this light-hearted, heartwarming rom-com also works perfectly as a standalone read, making it a great choice for new readers.
The story is infused with the warmth and charm that Linfoot's fans have come to expect, making it an ideal summer read. Its feel-good nature ensures a pleasant escape into a world of love and laughter.
A particularly moving aspect of the book is the author's note at the end, where Linfoot shares her personal experience with cancer. This candid reflection adds depth to the story, though it may be challenging for some readers who have had similar experiences. The book portrays living life to the fullest despite adversity, but this might not resonate with everyone facing such hardships.
Overall, this is a lovely, uplifting read that I'd recommend, though with a note of caution for those personally affected by cancer.

This was a decent easy beach read. The romance wasn’t bad and the friendships were lovely. It was refreshing to read about teenagers being nice and helpful instead of being portrayed as a mess due to their age. Loved the bits with Milla and her friends and wouldn’t mind reading a book just about them.

I enjoyed reading The Cornish Beach Hut Cafe by Jane Linfoot.. You will fall in love with all the characters. I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely. Happy Reading!

Another lovely feelgood story by this author. Floss is a great character and I loved her journey of leaving London and moving to Cornwall, starting afresh and making new friends and a life for herself a long way from the capital. A perfect beach read

Floss leaves her London life behind and returns to her Cornish hometown of St Aiden where she moves into her own beach hut. What she hadn’t realised was that a condition of the beach hut was to run a business from her home. With the help of her friends when she sets up a beachside addition to her friend Clemmie’s Little Cornish Kitchen, where she finds herself thriving. When the owner of the hotel next door investigates buying her land Floss pulls together with her friends and the locals of St Aiden to save her beach hut.
I really enjoyed this book and Floss’s story on her return to St Aiden. We see her slowly find her feet in her new life away from London and then watch her flourish. Floss is an example of the benefits of making the most of life and embracing second chances.
There are a number of great characters in this book who Floss has wonderful relationships with. The support of her friends, family and the community is great to see.
The setting sounds lovely, living in Floss’s beach hut sounds so idyllic I want to move in.
This book is a standalone but Jane Linfoot has written others set in St Aiden. You don’t need to have read the others, I haven’t and it didn’t detract from enjoying this book. In fact, I’m now going to check out the back catalogue.
This is a great summer time read, just make sure you have a sweet treat to hand….you’re definitely going to start craving them. This book has romance, friendship and community and is a feel-good read.

A gorgeous return to St Aidan for Jane Linfoot fans, with familiar faces and places but a brand new story centred around Florence May, the younger sister of Sophie. You don’t have to have read any of the previous St Aidan based books, it’s a stand alone book, but I would always recommend reading Jane Linfoot’s back catalogue as they are gorgeous reads.
Floss is returning home after a difficult time in London. Needing a change yet needing to be somewhere familiar, she is determined to forge a way forward in this new life one step at a time. Finding the perfect, most idyllic place to live, on the beach, and surrounded by her amazing family and friends (it sounds like heaven) Floss starts to find some happiness again, slowly and surely kick starting her new chapter. That is until her peace and tranquillity are threatened, and a familiar face from her past changes her plans in many ways.
Discovering her new abode comes with a catch, Floss randomly finds her home becoming the place to be for many people. Floss turns her hand to many things, but her skillset is making people feel comfortable and well-taken care of. Her concoction of random desserts are a bit (and will make your mouth water!) and she soon is in demand – in more ways than one.
Keen not to let people down but wanting to stick to her plan of not letting people get close, when her latest neighbour seems intent on being part of her life, Floss struggles to keep him at arm’s length.
I adore Floss, especially having been through so much already, she is hardworking, kind and caring, she has great relationships with people, if not always with her sister and Mother – but essentially, they do all love each other. She’s taken life by the hands and is rolling with whatever comes her way, embracing second chances even if scary and not part of her intended plan.
Full of teasingly yummy sounding goodies, this is another brilliant book by Jane and a highly recommended summer read. It's a gorgeously romantic book, with themes of friendship, community and embracing second chances.

A most enjoyable novel. It’s a heartwarming tale of family, friendship, love and new beginnings all set against a beautiful Cornish backdrop. The plot unfolds well and I was hooked from the start. This is the perfect beach read that I can highly recommend. Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter and the author for the chance to review.

I need to read more books by Linfoot, she writes the most wonderful uplifting stories and they're the perfect cosy escapism.
When I took my place in the blog tour I had no idea that it was part of a series, but I did find it read easily as a standalone.
The characters are all so lovely. There's a great sense of community spirit, friends waiting to be made and nothing is ever too much trouble.
As for the settings, the best books always take place in Cornwall. It's such a beautiful postcard perfect place and St Aidan sounds so idyllic, I want to move there, now!
The Cornish Beach Hut Café was an absolute delight to read and I absolutely loved every minute spent there.

I'm reviewing this via NetGalley, as part of a tour with Rachel's Random Resources.
At the start of the book, the protagonist, Florence, moves from London to St Aidan in Cornwall. On first impressions, Florence seemed like a likeable character who’d had a tough time of things, and I was hopeful that things would get better for her. The writing had a cheerful tone that I enjoyed.
I liked most of the characters, and enjoyed the bonds of close friendship between them. Some of the dialogue made me giggle, and I really felt the cosiness of the Cornish setting.
This was a lovely lighthearted read, ideal for summertime. It warmed my heart a little bit, and lifted my mood too.
Thank you to NetGalley, Rachel's Random Resources, and to the author and publisher, for the opportunity to read and review this.

7/13 Cornish Hut
This is my stop for the Cornish Beach Hut Cafe book tour. Florence heads back to her hometown in St. Aiden’s after going through a breakup as well as a bout with cancer. She buys land and sets up a surfside outpost of her friend Clemmie’s Cornish Kitchen. Soon she is flourishing, as she gets to know her new neighbors and reconnects with old friends.
This was a fun, cozy, beach read with great characters. It was a story full of romance, small-town life and love, second-chance romance, stargazing, family, delicious food, and life in a small town along the Cornwall coast.
Thanks to @boldwoodbooks, @netgalley and @rachelsrandomresources for this ARC
