This is a lovely summer, character-driven read that had me thinking of books by Katie Fforde. This reads quickly and doesn’t shy away from tough topics, but does handle those topics with gentleness. This is a very hopeful book! I loved Florence and her restart in St. Aidan–I wish I could visit and stay in a beach hut and eat at her cafe! The side-characters are also marvelous and were a treat to get to know. And I would be remiss if I did not mention the gorgeous cover. I knew when I saw it I had to read it and I’m so glad I did. This is my first book by Jane but it certainly won’t be my last.

After treatment for cancer and the subsequent failure of her relationship Florence leaves London and buys a beach but in her native Cornwall. She finds that planning rules say that she has to run a business from the hut, so sets up an outlet for her friend Clemmie’s Little Cornish Kitchen. Things don't go smoothly, with a very upmarket hotel set up next door, but she begins to find her place in her local community.
As normal any book set in Cornwall is an automatic tick for me, however this series really deserves it. With that small community feel with supportive friends and family, but realistic downsides as well. An ideal read for that cosy feel I can definitely recommend this book which is part of a series, but can readily be read as a standalone.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

This book is set in possibly one of my favourite places in the world, Cornwall, so was bound to be a hit with me. We meet Flossie after she has gone through a challenging time dealing with cancer and the break up if her relationship. She returns to her childhood town of St Aidens and what follows is a wonderful story of friendships, second chances and cake!! This is an excellent summer read.

I just loved this book, I just wish St Aidan’s was a real place as it’s just an amazing place to live and the people there are just amazing too.
It’s such a heartwarming and beautiful book.
I would highly recommend reading this book as it’s just amazing and I would also recommend reading the other books in the St Aiden Series.

I feel like I might have missed one or two in this loosely linked series out, but it doesn't really matter as the author keeps you nicely up to date with the characters and who they are. She takes a bold step in this one as the heroine, Floss, has recently recovered from a nasty encounter with cervical caner with ongoing health problems and particularly worries about relationships, especially when they turn physical. This was really carefully and beautifully done, with a balance of positivity and realism both in the physical aspects and Floss' reactions to the baby boom among her contemporaries. She has a lovely dog (who has no peril whatsoever) and a super group of friends plus a growing closeness to her own mum and sister. Having moved back to her seaside home, Floss discovers having a beach hut comes with a condition: she has to use it as a live/work space. She's soon set up as an outpost of her friend's cafe and returns to the simple but creative and inventive baking she used to do before her ex-boyfriend went all fancy and only ordered in. While it's not that relaxing, the place is healing, and the story rolls along very nicely and engagingly - a perfect beach read, in fact!
Review to come on my blog on Friday 12 July

This is part of a series of books. I’ve read some but not all and it can be enjoyed as a standalone novel. It’s a welcome return to St Aidens for Flossie who has had a difficult time living in London. This is a classic summertime romance set In Cornwall with friendship, support, family and cake at its heart. Perfect holiday read.

I have read quite a few of Jane Linfoot's previous books, and those set in St Aidan are may favourite. 'The Cornish Beach Hut Cafe' doesn't disappoint. In this novel, Florence (Floss) May (sister of Sophie who appears in several other books) is returning to St Aidan. She's had a difficult time, and where better to recuperate than her beautiful home town beside the sea, with family and friends around her to support her? However, just as she is settling in and looking towards a better future, it looks like her new start is going to be over before it's had chance to begin... A lovely light, summer read, great for fans of Philippa Ashley, Bella Osborne and Heidi Swain. Full of love, friendship, hope and baking! Thanks to Netgalley for my ARC copy, this is my honest review.

Being with Flossie has moved back to Cornwall to begin her life after her cancer battle and the breakup. This story was full of such likeable characters and the location was excellent! This is a very good book to read when you need a book that fills your heart.
Thank you NetGalley, Jane Linfoot and One More Chapter for the copy of The Cornish Beach Hut Café. This is my personal review.

What an absolutely delightful, cozy book! The characters are so likable, I want to be a “mermaid”, and, of course, I want to move to St. Aidan! I like the story, and thankfully there are no frustrating “misunderstandings” as part of the plot.
This book is a perfect summer read, and I am sad that my time with my new friends is over. However, I have discovered the author has a whole bunch of other books that I will be hunting down, and I will be watching for more from her!

perfect summery vibes I absolutely loved it!
Floss scarred by her cancer battle and breakup of her relationship returns home to Cornwall to be close to her family and friends.
Living in a newly purchased idyllic beach hut on the beach, Floss embraces life in st Aidans throwing herself into her work and the local community along with her dog.
Along the way we are taken on an idyllic journey of hope, second chances, tantalising cakes and desserts, stargazing, love, friendship and hope! A perfect wholesome read for the summer! Would highly recommend!
Thank you NetGalley for this early read

A very enjoyable read. Set in Cornwall, with likeable characters and a heartwarming story. Recommended.

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. This was a really nice and easy read, great location, great characters and a really good storyline. I enjoyed it.

This is a lovely warm hearted book. I really loved the Cornish setting, which makes it a perfect holiday read. The main characters are a likeable group of people. I will now look out for previous books in the series.

This was a really great read. Florence was a great character and it was lovely following her journey in St Aiden. The people of her home town were really great friends and so helpful to her during her change from her life in London to her home time. A real page turner full of love and friendship.

I loved the cover of this book and really wanted to like it. But I kept skimming parts of it as it was just to slow. Love the beach setting enjoyed the characters. Thank you netgalley for the advance copy

This is another great book in the series by Jane Linfoot. Although it is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.
They are classic romantic chick lit and always involve someone falling in love. As it is set by the sea, the author evokes many memories of happy English seaside holidays and you can feel you are transported to the town where the book is set.

This was a lovely, funny read, perfect for a summers day. I laughed out loud at times and was really sorry to finish it. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

This book was like a warm cup of cocoa on a rainy day – predictable, comforting, and guaranteed to give you the fuzzies. The plot twists were about as surprising as a Hallmark movie villain, but hey, sometimes you just want to watch the good guys win (and smooch a lot).

Flossie finds you can go home again and that it takes a village. She's come back to St Aiden after cancer and a breakup, she's got a beach hut, and now a small business that's being threatened by someone who wants to buy her spot. No surprise to fans of this genre her neighbors help her out, she finds love, and things look pretty darn good by the end. I like this type of novel for a relaxing read. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. And it's set in Cornwall!

Flossie moves to Cornwall to heal from cancer and a breakup with her boyfriend. I loved the story and the setting.
