Madison is back! I love that this author keeps writing so many books in this series and when you finish the book you still want more books! Madison and Nate are two of my favorite characters in a series ! Love Madison's quick wit! Madison gets called to the scene of a body found on Grave Mountain and then another! Is this the work of a serial killer?? Read this series!!! One of my absolute favorites !
What can I say except 'wow'!! I was on the edge of my seat as more bodies turned up. There were parts where it went back in time to when they were murdered, but no clues as to who could have done it. At times I had a tear in my eye when the plot was sad, but other times made me smile. I've read others in this series so I'm invested in the lives of the main characters, but I think it could be read as a standalone. There were several people who looked likely as suspects and I was actually right in my suspicions, just not the main culprit. A great addition to my bookshelf!
Grave Mountain (Detective Madison Harper Book 7) by Wendy Dranfield is such a great book and a great addition to the Detective Madison Harper series. This book does not disappoint. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time reading this story.
I was so excited to get a copy of this book. I really enjoy these characters and settling in for a thrilling ride. The story is gripping, and this series is quite addictive.
I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens with Madison and Nate. Especially Nate and how he will cope with the outcome of this book. I also want to find out how the cat and the two dogs will get along! I really love Bandit (cat) and Brody (dog); they are quite the characters.
Detective Madison Harper’s heart aches when she attends a local support group for families of missing people in Lost Creek, Colorado. She wishes she could help them all, but one cold case in particular captures her attention. Five years ago, close friends Becky, Tasha, and Stuart hiked the infamous Grave Mountain. But only Stuart returned. He claims they were separated by a storm, but the town has never believed him. Convinced Stuart is hiding something, Madison vows to find out what really happened.
The story had so many twists and red herrings that I could not figure out who the culprit was or what was going to happen next. The author does an excellent job of unfolding each scene with credible characters and an atmospheric locale. Lots of false clues, suspense, and tension, with a satisfying resolution that makes me want more in this series.
I would recommend this book and this series. I would highly recommend starting this series from book 1 so you get to know the characters and their backstories. I really enjoy this author's writing style, and Grave Mountain is a great mystery thriller.

I have been a fan of this series from the very first book and each time I read a new one, I love Madison and Nate even more.
Every time I am reminded of what they both went through, I shiver. At the same time I admire them for being they way they are. This ordeal they lived must have left a big and deep mark on them and still they manage to build a future and think positively. Of course regularly they are overcome with blasts from the past, but it does not stop them from helping other people.
A killer is terrorising Lost Creek for the umpteenth time and I can assure you they are one sick so and so. It seems like the sickest ones are at the same time also the most clever ones, which makes it even creepier and more challenging to catch them.
But fear not, Madison, Nate and of course Brody were not born yesterday and will not shy away from dangerous situations if that's what is needed to take them down a peg or two.
Once more the author manages to mix a big bunch of suspense and cruelness with softer and beautiful emotions giving the reader the chance to take a breather. :)
I loved this book just like I have loved every book I have already read by this author. 5 stars
Thank you
This talented author has written a page turner. I like this series. The protagonist is intriguing. The other characters keep the story moving quickly. Nate is faithful. Brody is a fantastic character…a dog… Mystery…secrets…red herrings. Cold cases…solving them…disappearances…questions…just enjoy the novel and do not try to guess the ending too soon. Madison is at it again…I could not stop until the end…Thanks Netgalley
first of all i would like to thank Bookouture, NetGalley and Wendy Dranfield for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! (I would like to point out this is my very first ARC and i was honored when i was selected for a copy!)
where to begin? wow. this book was nothing but a wild ride filled with twists and turns and secrets being revealed on every single page! every chapter was filled with such jaw dropping moments it was so hard to even put the book down! i felt like i was a transported into this book as a detective myself to solve all these murders! i just wanted to figure out who was doing this so bad! it was such a ride. i loved the mystery/eerie feeling you got when reading this book. It definitely added to why i loved it so much. from the moment i read the plot i just knew i was gonna love everything about it. Getting to know the secrets about every single character in this book was such a treat and had me gasping a few times as well! i was stunned once getting towards the end because i really did not see it coming and THATS what i loved the most. The fact that i had no idea who the killer was and had me guessing up until the very end makes me know that this author did a phenomenal job.
will this be my last time reading this author? absolutely not!
