Sometimes books come across our path and it’s just not the right time for the book to resonate with us. This book was not what I thought it would be and I had a challenging time getting into it and ended up skimming the last half.
this book is definitely a beneficial book to read if you need education or educating yourself. I think it is important and will probably be used in classes -probably college classes of course. outside of that there is not really room for the ability to say this is a poor book, it is nonfiction. 5/5 stars. everyone should have to read this book.
Absolutely eye opening book. One thing I love is learning about queer history. This book provided an eye opening look into the lives of queer leaders that aren't as well known. This was beautiful to read.
In an effort this year to read more LGBTQ+ books, I picked up this one as it's very applicable to business today and particularly my organization.
This is a great review and study of why LGBTQ+ representation is important at a leadership level and how certain individuals were "forged" into leaders.
This book covers many topics but bias, adversity, stigma, and marginalization are big themes. Along with hard work, determination and self-motivation.
Read this book for a very important leadership topic& perspective!
