Lena has moved to Mandalay Close after leaving her cheating husband, Gareth. The quiet street seemed like a fresh start for her, and she was hoping to meet some new neighbors and maybe even make some friends. She did complete her goal of meeting new neighbors, but the friends part is debatable.
Oliver, Rachel, and their son Jolyon live next door, and immediately there are issues. Oliver is cold, aggressive and seems to have a problem with Lena right from the start. I’d like to say that part of his behavior may be related to stress - many people on the street have received letters threatening to divulge their secrets. Unfortunately, Oliver is just a jerk, with or without the letter.
Prue lives on the other side of Lena and takes care of her mother, who has dementia. The two women do become slightly friendly, but Prue has secrets that don’t allow her to truly be close to anyone. She also knows a lot of secrets; she spends many sleepless nights watching the street, and sees things that other neighbors don’t have any clue about.
This is the second book I’ve read by the author, and I enjoyed both of them. Both are popcorn thrillers, but both are entertaining and well-written. This is fast-paced enough to finish in a sitting, and had some good surprises…neighborhood thrillers are usually fun, and this one was no exception. 3.5 stars, rounded up.
(Thank you to Boldwood Books, Joanne Ryan and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review. This book is slated to be released on April 18, 2024.)

Lena is new to Mandalay Close, after being shocked that her boyfriend of many years was cheating on her. Little does she know this street will be the scene for unexpected deaths. And then Lena is charged! This was a quick read with some good suspense!

Main character Lena moves to a new neighborhood for a fresh start. Neighbors begin receiving letters, except Lena someone is singling her out. This is a slow paced read with too many characters to keep up with. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher.

This one sounded super interesting but it did not bring anything exciting. It just felt like bland and was missing that excitement.

After a heart rending breakup, Lena moves to a new place in search of restart of her life. It seems like pleasant enough place until she actually moves in.
Letters threatening to expose deep secrets are sent to everyone in the neighborhood except for Lena - making her the prime suspect.
Who is doing this to her and will they reveal her own deep dark secrets?
A fast paced psychological book that really gave me the creeps.

Excellent writing, compelling book.
How the innocent can be caught up in something that is outside their control. New start in life and it all back fires drastically. Is anyone really like they appear from the outside?
Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this book.

Gone are the days when people got excited when they received a letter....
Lena moved into Mandalay Close the same day her neighbors received letters threatening to expose their secrets! Everyone received the letters except for Lena. Some begin to look at Lena, the newcomer, as the one who sent the letters. Lena has secrets of her own, but she just wants to start over as she is reeling over the loss of her 11-year relationship with Gareth who cheated on her.
Unfortunately, when Lena moved, she did not move into Mr. Rogers’ neighborhood. She moved into a neighborhood full of secrets and 'interesting' neighbors. Why oh why did Gareth have to cheat on her? Now she is in over her head!
This was an enjoyable book told through various POV's. There is quite a bit going on in this quiet neighborhood and the neighbors all have dysfunction going on in their lives and homes. There are quite a few twists and turns along the way which the story moving at a nice pace. I felt for Lena as she had quite a bit going on in her life during this book. Plus, the unlikeable characters were well done. I really disliked quite a few of them in this book.
I found this to be a fast, enjoyable and twist filled read.

Don't Let Her In
The BRAND NEW completely addictive psychological thriller from Joanne Ryan for 2024 I did read the entire book, It seemed pretty much the same as many. It was good, but not one I could recommend.

Numerous neighbours of Mandalay Close receive letters that are dropped through their letterboxes into their homes. Many of them do not think much about them at the time but these are a ticking time bomb for Lena who has recently moved into this cul-de-sac and has yet to build relationships with them. She has recently broken up with her partner Gareth, tossed aside for a younger version of herself and is looking for some peace and stability after her move. But this is not meant to be, and Lena is about to find herself in a lot of hot water.
This book is told by multiple POV’s and allows the reader to see into the lives of these neighbours and everyone of them holds secrets, secrets that were hoping would remain confidential as this is a close community and no one wants their dirty laundry aired for all to see.
As the book progresses, we are drip fed more and more information and are we going to be right in our thinking of who is behind all this angst and will Lena be able to prove her innocence. Overall, quite a good read, the book moves along at a decent pace and does contain many twists that will keep you entertained.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for an advanced copy, all opinions expressed are my own.

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the copy of Don’t Let You In by Joanne Ryan. The story had a great premise, but I was never drawn into it. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t a memorable read. While this book wasn’t for me, if you love twisty neighborhood thrillers, you might love it!

Don’t Let Her In had plenty of secrets and Whodunnits to keep a reader engaged. It started off slow for me. The story is told from multiple points of view. It was somewhat of a challenge trying to keep everyone’s secrets separate once the letters were delivered.
This was just OK for me. I would try another book by Joanne Ryan.

"Don't Let Her In" by Joanne Ryan had me hooked right from the start, immersing me in the drama and mystery unfolding in Mandalay Close.
Lena's move to the neighborhood was supposed to be her fresh start, her chance to leave behind the wreckage of her previous relationship. But fate had other plans. As soon as she settles in, ominous letters start appearing for her neighbors, promising to reveal their deepest secrets. Except, curiously, Lena's mailbox remains empty. It's as if someone is deliberately targeting her, trying to sabotage her newfound happiness.
Ryan's narrative is excellent, each chapter unraveling another layer of deception and betrayal. The story's got more twists and turns than a rollercoaster, and let me tell you, I was flipping through those pages faster than you can say "plot twist." Lena? She's a relatable character, trying to pick up the pieces after getting her heart stomped on. But man, I wanted to shake some sense into her when she couldn't seem to shake off her no-good ex. Like, come on, girl, you deserve better!
Now, I gotta admit, there were a couple of things that didn't quite click for me. Like, the eight-year-old character's perspective felt a bit too grown-up. But hey, in the grand scheme of things, it's a minor quibble in an otherwise gripping tale.
If you're into fast-paced mysteries with a side of drama, this one's for you. Can't wait to see what Joanne Ryan comes up with next!

Despite the fact that Lena sometimes acts in a way that drives me bananas, I liked this book a lot. It was a good introduction to Joanne Ryan's book, as I'm following it up by reading another from her.

Thank you Boldwood Books and NetGalley for spoiling me once again with this ARC!
A new start may not always be a good choice, especially if your new neighbours have some dark secrets they are hiding!
I really felt bad for Lena moving to a new street and then finding herself in the middle of a murder investigation! She really got a bad bargain !
This book had a really good storyline but would have loved to know more about Oliver and how he develop in to this lovely peace of art !(NOT)
I also liked how the author has sneaky little tricks to make you think you know… but you don’t!
Very entertaining book! You can sure go ahead and read this one!

Thank you netgalley and publishers for the ARC of this book!
A real slowburn thriller that picks up pace which I enjoyed reading. The book twists definitely caught me off guard but I really wished the book immediately picked up a fast pace from the start to keep you hooked.
Still an enjoyable thrillin read!

A mystery following the goings on in upmarket Mandalay Close where every resident has their own agenda and lots to hide.
The main character Lena moves to MC after a messy break-up and soon comes to realize that, in addition to all she has on her plate, somebody among her shiny new neighbourhood doesn't want her there.
There are a few additional POVs from some of the residents sprinkled in which I enjoyed very much, especially Jolyon.
Yes, one might wonder whether somebody his age would talk & reflect his own behaviour like that &
the ending wrapped the story up a bit too smoothly for my taste, yet these are but minor nitpicks to an enjoyable domestic thriller.
Thank you, NetGalley and Boldwood Books, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review! All viewpoints are entirely my own.

Don't Let Her IN
by Joanne Ryan
Pub Date: April 18,2024
Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Although this starts off a bit dull and unevenly paced, once it gets going, it does become interesting and very entertaining reading. It’s told through several points of view and this works well as you get a fly on the wall insight behind some closed doors and it’s far from pretty. These are not very likeable people which they often hide behind a veneer of respectability, and some are very nasty, reprehensible characters.
So for me it's a three star.
Perfect for fans of K.L. Slater, Lisa Jewell and Sue Watson.

A very slow burner. Unlikeable characters. Pace did pick up and had a few twists but it was just an ok read for me. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it

Don't Let Her In is advertised as a gripping, addictive psychological thriller; however, for me, it did not live up to the hype. Rather than one cohesive mystery/thriller, it felt as if I was reading three separate books - one focused on the letters, one focused on the murder, and one focused on the relationships/drama. The letters having nothing to do with the story really annoyed me. None of the characters are well-developed and most are extremely unlikable with no reasons why. The multiple POVs were unnecessary, especially the kid's chapters. The ending was pretty predictable and was not satisfying. Overall, I just did not enjoy this book.
