One of my very few 5 star ratings. This author is new to me but had me completely hooked through the whole read. Following the perfect life of Cassie and her husband, the different POVs uncover a not so perfect past of Cassie’s husband. The story includes tons of entanglements and twists both expected and unexpected. Just enough of a thriller without being a scary read. Would definitely recommend

4.5 rounded up. A twisty, fun popcorn thriller perfect for fans of Frieda McFadden and Daniel Hurst!
Premise - after her toddler son inherits an expensive house from his wealthy grandfather, Cassie and her husband move into the new home. Cassie is eager to return to work and restart her life post-baby phase, which John isn’t at all supportive of (he wants a trophy wife and more children). Cassie stands up for herself (rare instance) and hire Amy to walk the dog while she’s at work. Amy wants Cassie’s life, husband, and child, and she’s hiding a big secret, one with murderous consequences…

This audiobook was made available to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
The narrators for this audiobook were perfection! Their voices were superb and added to the perfect amount of creepiness and tension.
This domestic thriller has a slightly sinister and creepy tone. Not terrifying but unnerving energy that grew as the story developed. This is a domestic thriller set in the UK. Cassie is a relatively new wife and the mother of a toddler. After the death of her mother in law, her family relocated to the home her husband grew up in. It's a nice house, in a nice area. Cassie is looking to start over from the darkness of their last home and is looking forward to returning to work for the first time since the birth of her son.
As she is getting settled in, she randomly meets a former dog parent, Amy, who she eventually hired as a dog walker and later befriends.
Amy is not familiar with dogs like she lets Cassie believe. What she's familiar with is Cassie's husband, Jon.
This novel has several reveals and multiple surprises.
I'd guessed some of the reveal but was engrossed into the story from beginning to end. What a heart-pounding adventure!
