This is a good book. The two main characters are Lauren and Caleb. Lauren is running away from her wedding. She was being forced by her parents and fiance to get married, she didn’t want to. She runs away to Colorado. Caleb’s publicist recommends he get away and lie low for a few months, so he goes to Colorado. They meet at a bed and breakfast. They start dating each other. The ex fiance shows up. They declare their love.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Billionaire's Runaway Bride.
Loved the romance between Lauren and Caleb.
A great mix of characters and a little spice.
Highly recommend.
This book was a breath of fresh air! It wasn't the all out smut I've been reading lately and while there were a couple parts that gave me hope for a bit of a dark romance. This book was just really refreshing! I cannot wait to read Aubrey and Dalton's book next!
I connected with this book. A great story about finding yourself and learning to be your own person no matter the obstacles.
This book is full of funny moments that are sure to get you laughing. Two very rich people are both on the run to hide and figure out their life. Little did they know how they would find everything they need at a rundown small country B&B. Throw in some matchmaking from the owner and they are on the road to a great further until the past comes back with demands. Will they both be able to change the course of their life or will they fall right back to the way things were? I was given a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I did enjoy this book a little bit. However, I thought the story was going at a good pace and then it slowed a bit. I felt like I was reading the book just to finish it and not to enjoy the story. I could see the potential of these 2 characters being together in a relationship and maybe it's that fact that I don't like slow-burn romances. I did 45% which I thought was a good amount of progress in the book to make a good decision on whether or not to continue with the story. This story just wasn't right for me.
Thank you NetGalley and Emery Cruz for free access to this ebook. I really enjoyed the beginning of this book. It was full speed with the drama right out the gate. Lauren is running away from a marriage she never wanted and parents that didn’t care. Caleb is being sent to a quiet place to let a scandal blow over. I liked seeing Lauren thrive having something to do at the B&B. I would have liked to see more build up with their relationship. One thing that really annoyed me was how easily Lauren just caved to going back to a life she didn’t want. It felt like a huge step back when she had supportive people around her. Overall I enjoyed this book and I do look forward to reading the other books in this series.
If you like runaway brides, billionaires, and banter, then The Billionaire’s Runaway Bride may be a good book to pickup for you. I like reading stories about the heroine realizing their worth and running away from a loveless/bad marriage, and this one was especially good. All the more relatable because she doesn’t mind working or getting her hands dirty.
Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for an ARC copy of this book, I’m leaving my review voluntarily.
From the first page, I struggled to remain interested. I loved the idea of a runaway bride and finding one's self apart from family, etc., however I felt that the plot and the characters were very one-dimensional. There wasn't any real depth to them, which of course made it hard to connect with them. I also think that the dialogue was immature perhaps? It wasn't just the dialogue either, their inner thoughts were just...unrealistic and flat. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the MCs. Caleb was an egotistical entitled womanizer who was obsessed with having Lauren and Lauren was a pushover with no sense of self. Their "relationship" wasn't even a relationship it was just Caleb pushing to get what he wanted and Lauren letting him. The secondary characters were also unrealistic, to the point that I was rolling my eyes. That was a common theme for me; rolling my eyes at just about every page. Needless to say, I wasn't a big fan of this one, unfortunately.
I really enjoyed The Billionaire's Runaway Bride. Lauren and Caleb are great by themselves. Add in Marian who runs the B&B and you have a wonderful group of characters. Emery Cruz does a good job of bringing everyone to life even the evilness of Lauren's ex-fiance and her awful parents.
This book has just enough spice, a great hero, a villain you hate with all your might, and a woman who can stand on her own.
Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the e-ARC of this book. This review is my own opinion.
Very enjoyable story. Caleb is a party hound trying to get away from NY and the always negative publicity. Lauren is a runaway bride with a horrible family and cheating fiancé she runs away from at the altar. They both end up at a lovely bed and breakfast with an amazing proprietor.. The twists and turns to get their HEA are interesting and fun. Would definitely recommend.
I found the plot a little cringy and couldn't empathize with the characters. I skipped over the love scenes as for me, they were not well written. Also, an American BnB seems to offer meals not just breakfast. Why call it a BnB then? Inn surely? We learn almost nothing about the local town and only meet 2 characters very briefly. So the background is very sketchy. Overall, for me, it felt more .like a novel that needed more development.
Thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the chance to read this book.
I initially found the interactions between Lauren and Caleb extremely frustrating with his attitude and behaviour, and I felt that the feelings and thoughts they expressed were completely unrealistic in such a short period of time. But it wasn't long before I was swept up by them - especially when they allowed themselves to show feelings that went further than surface level. Their bickering was amusing, though.
I absolutely don't understand Lauren's mentality in going along and accepting the decisions her family made for her, considering their despicable treatment of her.
I finished the book looking forward to more and can't wait to read the next instalment from Emery Cruz.
Don't let the title fool you into thinking this is just a regular cheesy romance - this is a 5-star read! I love the writing style of this author (my first book by her but certainly not my last).
I was skeptical when I heard playboy from New York and a runaway bride who was prim and proper meet. The characters could have been pretty dull but they were not. I loved Lauren and she was so well-written in this book. Caleb also could have been a cliché disaster in all the wrong ways but he was incredible, too! Just enough spice to keep it fun but not raunchy enough that it would turn some readers off (not readers like me but uh...more normal readers).
Awesome story, awesome supporting characters, and the setting was magic. Must read for romance lovers!
Thank you to the Author, Publisher and NetGalley for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review
First off, thanks to NetGalley, BooksGoSocial, and Emery Cruz for free access to this ebook.
I thought this was a cute contemporary romance. I love romances involving very reach people, and both the main male and female characters are well-off in this. It has drama, a tiny bit of thriller vibes at one point, and lots of cute and sassy romance.
My main issue is that there are a few plot points likely included to make the story go more smoothly, but they receive too much focus and distract from the main story. This is a runaway bride story. She arrives at the B&B with nothing. It’s very convenient that a prior guest left behind a suitcase full of clothes that just happen to fit her. That’s fine, but then it gets pointed out repeatedly. When she’s dressing up she thinks how nice it is that the person left unopened cosmetics of a variety of types. Things like that. They were unnecessary and kind of broke the flow, drawing too much attention to something that wasn’t really important. Also, the final ‘drama’ seemed unrealistic, with the FMC voluntarily putting herself in a bad situation with insufficient justification and weak communication. It didn’t fit for me.
However, the main couple are cute and there are a few interesting side characters. The setting is nice and there are some great scenes as the two grow to love each other. Overall I enjoyed it, there were just a few things that kept it from fully engaging me.
The worse sort of abuse is not always physical and the strongest people can be those you least expect. A fantastic story full of strong emotions brilliant characters ( both good and bad ) and an action packed adventure all the way. Cant wait for the next book in this series
This book is about a bride who runs away from her unwanted wedding and ends up meeting a new man (a billionaire CEO *pun intended*) who is hellbent to make her his.
The idea of this book is intriguing that I was attracted to it in the first place but I'm having a difficult time to tell you how this book disappoints me.
This book is fast-paced that has everything going the same pace: the love, the trust between characters that is justified in the name of fate.
The main female character also contributes to the lack of stars I'll give for this book, I understand that her background influences the choices she make (it was a tough one). As the consequence, she contradicts herself many times I can't fully connect with her. I wish she has a firmer character growth.
Another thing is, for me this book characters were unrealistic, i believe, to issue drama. Certain characters were made too disagreeable and others were made too agreeable.
Lastly, the writing style is not for me where everyone know what the others think about and know everything. The whole plot was unraveled at once that we know everything and leaving no room for curiosity. It also has a dual pov which is not my favorite but when done right I'd love it. In this case, i'm not fond of it.
You will love this book when you want a quick read and happily ever after with steamy scenes here and there.
P.S. I obtained this ebook through NetGalley in exchange of my review.
This was a great read with lots of romance and steaminess! I loved the characters and their journey throughout the story, I especially liked the B&B out in the sticks with a completely gorgeous landlady.
I totally recommend this book if you want a good story as well as some romance and a bit of spice!
You know that feeling when a book seems to have everything you normally love - a rich girl rebelling against her stuffy parents, a bad boy love interest, a charming small-town setting? But then for some reason, you just can't get into it. That was me with this one.
The main issue I had was with the lead character Lauren. The girl made some choices that made me go "Uhh, why though?" Running out on her wedding day to this Jeremy dude her parents set her up with? Okay, I get that against their controlling ways and the cheating idiot fiance and best friend. But then she falls for the typical richer-than-thou playboy Caleb just because he's hot and happens to be at the same inn she's laying low at? I just didn't buy her motivation.
Speaking of things I didn't buy, her parents agreeing to an arranged marriage with Jeremy made zero sense based on what we knew about their obsession with status. Like why would they pick him if the goal was perfectly curated optics?
The thing that she did an incredibly stupid thing near the end. As I do not want to have a spoiler, I would not say what she did. But, um, no! I wanted character growth for the FL.
There were some positive sides, though. The innkeeper who takes in both Lauren and Caleb seemed like a sweet old soul. And the overall premise had promised - rebel heiress finds her deeper free spirit with a dashing rogue. It was decently written too, but needed some deeper editing to tighten things up.
But at the end of the day, I just couldn't vibe with Lauren as a character. She made me roll my eyes too much with her contradictory actions. And the insta-love with Caleb felt way too rushed for me to feel the passion.
So while parts were entertaining enough, the underwhelming lead and some unbelievable story beats kept me from truly getting invested. For some readers though, the country inn setting and storyline about breaking free from toxic family might be enough to make this a fun, breezy read. Me? I'm giving it 3 stars - it had potential, but the character connection just wasn't there.
I got an early ARC thanks to NetGallery.

The Billionaire's Runaway Bride is about Caleb, a super wealthy CEO playboy and Lauren, also very wealthy and entitled runaway bride. It begins with Lauren leaving her wedding and almost marrying an awful, cheating man. Her entire relationship was orchestrated by her very wealthy and very controlling parents with her having no say in anything. She bought a bus ticket and heads to Colorado and ends up at a B&B in a small town where she is hired by the sweet owner to help fix some things up and help out with the day-to-day chores. Surprisingly doing a decent job with having never worked a day in her life. Caleb coincidentally arrives the next day, laying low from the gossip magazines after a couple of bad publicity stories from a former girlfriend.
The story had a lot of potential in being a good classical hallmark romance but it was not. The story development was poor, very little character development and depth, and really choppy dialogue. Caleb was overly confident and honestly annoying with being so obsessed with wanting to sleep with Lauren. Lauren was really hard to get behind. She had zero self respect and no backbone. There was basically zero depth to their relationship which made it hard to see the chemistry between them, and unbelievable that they fell in love. It just seemed like they were sexually attracted to each other but not much more. I would have liked to see them actually have a conversation or show growth in their relationship but every time I thought they were starting to get somewhere they would just end up in bed together.
This book was not for me, It may be for other people and those who like this author but with this being the first book by the author that Ive read I would be willing to try a different book from her. I was grateful to have read an advanced copy of this book; I voluntarily read it and gave it my honest review.
