What a clever concept to new words, animals, and the seasons through a father-son relationship via dance.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A hippyish dad takes Sunny on a right old adventure, all through putting some music on and them dancing like – well, like loons. Or more precisely, tigers, people dangling off kites in the wind, rabbits in the business of collecting and counting out their carrots… Yes, an experienced dancer and dance teacher for pre-schoolers has knocked this up, and it does kind of show the bonkers reaches of the Terpsichorean world, but it also leaves you boggling at the kind of record they're playing – part of me wants to hear it to be sure this made sense and a lot of me would just run a mile from such an illogical racket. Still, more power to the imagination, of all of us at all ages. I think this is a stretch of one to suggest this is brilliant, but it didn't completely fail, and as a lesson in onomatopoeia it's actually quite a strong one.
Do your little ones love to dance and move? Do they love animals? Wanna find the perfect book to help get those little wiggles out? I have found it with Sunny Steps Loves To Dance by Alison Thompson. This book is perfect to get your little ones moving and active. In this story Sunny dances with his Daddy and their fun imaginations. While dancing together they dance and sound like different animals and sounds in nature. With simple text and colorful illustrations this story is perfect to get your child’s imagination going. Our favorite was dancing like thunder and lightning and stomping like the elephants. Sunny dances because he loves it, just like our family does. You will love this book and want to share it again and again. We received this as an ARC but will be adding it to our home library for sure. It would also make a great addition to any early childhood classroom. Enjoy this little adventure.
Sunny Steps and his Daddy love to dance with an incredible imagination. My toddler loved this story with its fun dancing and the animals. The art is fun, simple, and bright - just right to catch my toddlers attention!
Thank you NetGalley for the advance reader!
I love the energy in this beautiful little picture book. Sunny Steps loves to dance, and he can do it all day long. His dad is with him as he steps and turns and slides, dancing in every place, in every situation, and with every creature. This would be a fun book to act out. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
