A perfect easy-summer read for a holiday or beach read!
A predictable storyline following Flo and Jamie's journey from "enemies" to "lovers". Although it was predictable, I enjoyed following the characters and the dynamics between the friends, family and mishaps along the way.

This one has been on my list for FAR TOO LONG and even though I think it’s a perfect summery beach read, it was nice to escape the cold December chill and transport myself to Greece.
This is the story of Flo Greenberg, serial overachiever who, after suffering from a mental breakdown and sectioned during her PhD, accompanies her family on holiday to Greece. Cue sensory descriptions of the warm sea, the breeze and the author writes “a real-life Spotify playlist of relaxation noises”.
As the title suggests, it relies heavily on the enemies to lovers trope but chemistry bubbles away not only between Flo and Jamie (the enemy who’s infiltrated her family) but Adonis, the Greek masseuse who wants to show Flo more than the Aegean Sea. The appearance of Adonis and the plinkyplonky music relaxes Flo who has knots in her which have been there from birth!
It was a very relatable read and parts of it really moved me such is the fragility of mental health - one day you are fine and the next you totally unravel and you’re unable to move.
Thank you to @laurajaneauthor @penguinukbooks @netgalley for the very entertaining read.

Enemies to Lovers is one of my favourite tropes, the title absolutely grabbed my attention. If I am honest there wasn't enough animosity between the characters for me to completely buy into the enemies part of the troupe.
The family vibes were the best part of the book for me
The perfect summer beach read book
An excellent book to read if you want to feel summer, armchair travel to Greece and enjoyed a well plotted and witty enemy to lovers romance
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
A big fan of Laura’s books and this one was great fun! Love an enemies to lovers storyline. The characters were great and I would definitely recommend.
I really enjoyed this story. You could feel the tension between Flo and Jamie throughout the book. All characters were likeable and I like that mental health wasn’t a taboo subject. If work wasn’t an issue I’d have read this in one sitting.
I loved this, it was a nice fluffy fun read, perfect as a palette cleanser, I highly recommend to anyone and everyone go and read this
Enemies To Lovers - well, the title says it all:
that -and only that- is exactly what you get in this easy read rom-com. Lothario skipper Jamie and driven academic Florence have known each other all their lives and now in their mid-twenties discover their mutual attraction while on a family holiday on a beautiful Greek island. Perfect for idling away a few hours.
'Enemies to Lovers' by Laura Jane Williams is a delightful blend of humor and romance that keeps you engaged from start to finish.
Flo Greenberg is an overachiever in need of a break, and her planned Greek holiday quickly turns into a whirlwind of unexpected interactions with her brother's best friend, Jamie. Their dynamic is a mix of tension and banter, but the enemies-to-lovers trope feels flimsy at best. While there are moments of chemistry, their relationship lacks the depth of feeling needed to fully convey the heat and even love that one might expect from this setup.
The witty dialogue and stunning Greek backdrop certainly provide charm, but I found myself wishing for more exploration of their past and emotions to understand the underlying tensions and motivations better.
TL;DR: A fun and engaging enemies-to-lovers story with witty banter and a beautiful setting, but the shallow exploration of their animosity and connection left me wanting more depth and genuine emotion. Perfect for light escapism, but not as impactful as it could have been!
3.5* for this easy read rom-com, which was another enjoyable holiday kindle book for me. Flo and Jamie’s will they won’t they had the outcome obvious from the beginning, but the family banter, holiday setting and self discovery made for an enjoyable, though predictable read.
This book was an easy ready. It’s not my favourite read of the year but it was good.
I thought that Flo was a little bit dramatic for her age, and came across like a whiny teenager at some points. So did her brother at points. But I did really like the connection between Flo and Jamie. It’s just a shame that it took so long in the book for something to happen with them.
The description of the place absolutely made me want to go to Greece though, so dreamy.
Overall, an easy read great for summer.
Flo Greenberg plans to have a relaxing holiday in Greece with family, until her brother’s best friend and (almost fling), Jamie turns up
Flo decides to just ignore him, but can she resist the pull between them
Loved the writing style, the banter and chemistry were just perfect
It was fun to watch the dynamics play out
A warm, engaging read - perfect holiday novel
Thanks @laurajaneauthor @penguinukbooks @netgalley for the fun rom-com read
I absolutely loved this! I loved the characters and unpicking what had happened at Christmas to lead to this!
Firstly, a big thank you to Random House UK, Cornerstone and Net Galley for the ARC.
This was a 4.5 star read for me. I throughly enjoyed this book, it was just a pure, straight forward enemies to lovers story (as the title tells us) set in a beautiful location.
The only reason I wouldn’t give it 5 stars is that they constantly reference to the Christmas where everything went wrong, but we don’t get to see much of it. I think more flashbacks to that point would have been really good in helping us understand what went wrong between them.
I love Flo and Jamie - there’s so much tension from the offset and you can tell there’s a lot of feelings between them. They really have that push/pull connection that hooks us readers in. Their relationship has a few complications, the biggest one being her elder brother Laurie, who happens to be Jamie’s best friend. I felt so much joy for them both when they overcame said complications, considering everything they’d both been through in life. They had such a cute, and emotional confession of feelings as well which I loved.
The family unit was wonderful, and warm, and loving, and funny, and a little bit overprotective and overbearing, but that’s just what family is. The bond between Flo and her other brother, Alex, and how they checked up on each other in their own way was very sweet. I think the family element of this book really added to the plot and made it feel a bit more wholesome.
I love an epilogue or a little time jump at the end of books, simply because I’m nosey and want to see what characters are getting up to in the future. Enemies to Lovers had a good time jump that showed our beloved Flo and Jamie very happy with each other and was a very good wrap up to the story.
All in all, I fully recommend this book. I read through this in two days and wish I could read it again with fresh eyes.
**Enemies to Lovers** tells the story of Florence and Jamie as they navigate their feelings while on vacation with Flo’s family.
Laura Jane Williams delivers an incredible read! She consistently impresses, and I thoroughly enjoyed **Enemies to Lovers**. I appreciated how the characters genuinely started off as ‘enemies’ and loved watching their relationship evolve through all the ups and downs.
The twist regarding the events from Christmas and the reason behind their animosity took me by surprise! I felt so frustrated for them—how could anything get in the way of their love? Still, it turned out to be a significant turning point in their journey.
The epilogue was absolutely delightful! I loved seeing Flo explore her passions and take a new path, especially after going through such a tough time.
A beautiful read :)
This was very light and easy to red. I love Our Stop by Laura Jane Williams previously so I look forward to this one and it definitely did not disappoint! I loveee brother’s best friend trope! Highly recommend!
After having a mental breakdown Flo goes on holiday with her family, and joining them is her brothers best friend Jamie.
After the way Jamie left things, Flo really isn’t ready to see him. As soon as she sees him she remembers how much she loves and hates him at the same time.
The romance between them gives you butterflies in your tummy.
A real love story. A book not to be missed!

„Enemies to Lovers“ is a light and fun read with a misleading title, that makes you wanna go to a greek island with your friends and family, but fails to fully execute the topics it’s trying to tackle.
I can already tell that I will forget everything I’ve just read in about 2 days, cause nothing really struck a cord or left a lasting impression. The enemies are really just two people who carry around anger because they can’t have one single conversation (I hate the miscommunication trope), the plot points are kind of generic and the character work is all but mediocre (I connected more to the side characters than the FMC/MMC).
The anxiety theme brings an interesting aspect to the story, but it’s missing depth to truly connect with emotionally.
So if you’re looking for a fun and fluffy read to devour at the Greek coast, this could be it, but don’t expect this to stick with you after the vacation is over.
Thanks Netgalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone for providing this e-book in exchange for an honest review.
Really enjoyed this book, particularly as I was reading it while on holiday on my own Greek island.
A likeable cast of characters, a few misunderstandings, comedy, heartfelt moments and a lovely ending.
Would recommend.
I didn't hugely enjoy this one, I really have loved Williams' writing in the past but this one fell a bit flat.
I didn't feel much chemistry between our MMC and FMC, Flo and Jamie, despite their history. That's another thing - I found the title slightly misleading, as it was more brother's best friend trope, and I didn't feel much 'enemy' energy between the two.
This all being said, it was definitely still a light-hearted read.
