We are following Susan Parker and her team as they try to work out who is killing the members of a Billionaire Murder Club. They get some help from a group of Podcasters. The killer targets poverty-stricken areas and mothers who are struggling and unable to care for their children.

It did take a few chapters for me to get into this book. I don't know if not having read the first book had something to do with that, I might have missed out on getting to know some of the characters a bit better. We are also left with a bit of a cliffhanger. The story is told from Susan and the serial killer's perspectives. This twisted thriller is easy to read.

The Murder Club by Sam Baron is a dual-POV thriller novel where FBI SAC agent Susan investigates the murder of a billionaire who was part of a club of billionaires fascinated with serial killers. As Susan continues investigating, she gets the attention of the Clothesline Killer, a murder who has taken the lives of multiple mothers and orphaned many children.

We see the story mostly through Susan’s eyes and get some chapters from the POV of the Clothesline Killer. Susan has a strong protective streak over her family, particularly her daughter and sislaw, Lata. Her worldview is impacted by her experience as an Indian woman, an orphan, and as a member of law enforcement.

A Fast paced crime mystery, I could not put down. Lots of twists and turns keeps you guessing where the story is going to go next.

That was a wild ride! I ended up absolutely loving FBI agent Susan Parker! This story was really captivating! I didn’t have any idea as to where the story was going, and the ending really threw me! I really enjoyed the dynamic between Sarah and her sislaw. As well as Sarah’s team at the fbi and how the worked together. Was a really thrilling read and I will definitely be reading more by this author

A bad-ass female FBI agent chasing a serial killer…always a fave for me! I really enjoyed this book. Kept me hooked and was a pretty quick easy read! The twist kept coming & although I was pretty sure I had it figured out early on…I was wrong! Twisted me up right til the end. The only thing that bothered me was, that being from Southern California myself, I would have preferred if the actual city & site names were used. Overall, this was a great read! I will concentrating this author!

I was left kind of feeling indifferent about this one. It felt repetitive at times and I didn’t feel a real connection to any of the characters. Some things felt forced when the bones of the story probably could have gone far without any of that because that alone was good.

This book definetly has its issues but I still found it very enjoyable.

I was immediately hooked and couldn’t put it down. The story had a good pace and kept me guessing the whole time.

Two things that ruined this book for me was the FMC. She’s supposed to be the best of the best but missed crucial connections that were easily spotted along the way.
The second thing is the grammar. Who was the editor here? One or two mistakes here or there is one thing, but this was horrible.

Loved this book. Fast page turner for me, great story and unique crime mystery read and kept me on edge. All the characters were likeable and FBI Susan Parker and her team nailed the “clothesline killer”. Great twists and plots

I'm not sure if I could take to Susan in this storyline, her colleagues seemed to do most of the hard work and she rode off their success and went into situations all guns blazing. And again, as in the first book it ends on a cliffhanger

The so-called Clothesline killer entered their homes wearing a dark mask and strangled the mothers with remnants of clothesline twine as their children slept nearby.
She becomes aware of a group of local men who formed a so-called Murder Club and have become obsessed with finding the killer. But they aren’t alone. A young pizza delivery girl in town is also following the cases. Her dream is to become an FBI agent one day, and she begins writing her own investigative reports of the murders.
Susan discovers from the girl's scrapbook that these aren’t isolated killings.
When two members of the Murder Club are found dead in their homes, Susan becomes alarmed. The killer is determined to silence anyone who may stop him and she may be next on the killer list.
Fearful for her family’s lives, she has to find out who he is and stop him. The ending will blow you away. There are so many twists and turns you will never be able to predict how the book ends.
It's an absolute stunner and definitely a must-read! Not for the faint of heart.

The Murder Club by Sam Baron is the second book in FBI Agent Susan Parker's series. I didn't read the first one and probably that's the reason I struggle to connect with this book. The storyline was interesting and made me keep reading but I constantly catch myself drifting away.
Some parts felt repetitive and the hate for men was a bit much.
The end wrapped nicely all the story and to be honest I didn't expect that final twist.
I would say this book was in between yes and no for me but I can see how this book could become another reader's 5-star read!

The book opens with a crime scene and it hits you straight away. The story switches to Special Agent Susan Parker and her team and their mission to catch a "boogeyman".
This book is full of action and some really suspenseful moments, some parts will make you hold your breath.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series so I was super excited about this book. However, it didn't live up to the expectations that were set by the first book. The story wasn't very gripping. The idea of a Murder Club sounded so interesting, but for some reason it wasn't catching my attention the way I thought it would.

This was still a good book and the storyline was interesting and thrilling enough. I like the characters in this book, especially the main character. She's tough and brave and such a good person. I was hoping this would be the book where she would get closure about her husband's death.

I will continue this series if there is more. I am invested in the characters and I want to see them all get the happy endings they deserve. I might be a bad person, but now that I know Naved and his wife are separated, I'm really hoping he's part of Susan's happy ending.

What a great book this was to read. I hadn't read the first book but got into this one quickly enough without any issues. Great characters you got into and a storyline that kept you gripped all the way through, so much so, I didn't want to put the book down until I had finished it - my sign of a good book!

I specifically sought out the 2nd book in this series as I really like it! I read it in a few sittings.
There's something about the way it's written, that keeps me wanting to know more about Susan, her home life, culture and whatever bad person she is hunting!
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the 3rd installment!

The Murder Club by Sam Baron is a mystery-thriller FBI crime story.

The plot should focus on solving crimes, not on hating men or playing the victim. or even being inclusive.

I wanted to like this book. due to its intriguing title, attractive cover, and promising description... but unfortunately, some of the content quickly put me off. What could have been a thrilling and unpredictable story turned out to be quite predictable, and the main character's attitude was unbearable. She spent the entire book talking about how she's a "marginalized woman of color"... Throughout the book, the female main character's disdain for Caucasian people is evident. Her hatred towards men was overwhelming, and it was absurd how she constantly praised herself and how much everyone around her loved her (except for her male, Caucasian boss, of course).

I just reviewed The Murder Club by Sam Baron. #TheMurderClub #NetGalley. I did not read the first book in this series, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book on its own. I do plan on going back to read the first book. We get to know Susan and her background. I liked how she was tough. The author did a good job at developing Susan and making us care about her. I liked the points of view. I liked Susan's family, her daughter Natalie and her sislaw, Lata. They added a deeper connectedness to the main character.

I would recommend this book to those wanting a twisty ride. Great read!!
