This was a fabulous story. I was not sure as it was told by different people for each chapter. Not how I like to read but wow. I could not put it down.. It was a story of lost ring's a horrid controlling husband ( bing polite ) , caring friends and family. old and new love and putting your children first .- that took strength It was well written and not quite the ending you expected. But a good ending .A must spring read. Loved it.

This was my first Shari Low book, but I’m really interested in checking out her others. I really enjoyed this one.

What an amazing read! I had met some of the character in a previous book but it would equally read just as well as a stand alone book. I loved how the different characters' stories are interwoven but I couldn't guess how they all set together until I got there! I loved the epilogue as well so that I knew how it all ended. This is a spectacular book and I'd highly recommend it.

Shari Low never fails to disappoint. I love the way she links her characters in her books......it's like meeting old friends again.

Val has just lost her life partner and is heading to stay with her niece when she loses precious mementos including his wedding ring. As her niece steps in to help reunite Val with her lost items, their stories intertwine with those of Larry McLenn and his long suffering wife Alice.

A fantastic book which reminds us of what is most important in life and how, with the help of some friends, things can turn around.

Fantastic read.

A journey to find something precious to Val Murray that will shine and give comfort to the soul thanks to the valuable help from close realtives, and new friends. New beginings, sad stories and so more much in another wonderful story from Shari Low.

Every new release from Shari Low is met with eager anticipation. She is my go-to for an escapist novel and One Long Weekend is perfect for curling up and losing yourself in its pages.
I love that Shari Low is true to her characters and that they feature in more than one of her novels. This time it's Val's turn.
Val recently lost both her best friend and her husband and she keeps a ring of theirs to remind her of their relationship. Unfortunately, due to a mistake, Val loses the rings and the reader accompanies Val on her journey to find her precious jewelry.
We are introduced to new characters who all play a part in Val's story - Alice a downtrodden wife of a disgraced MP and her son - Rory who is battling to save his marriage. We also meet Sophie who is caught up in the search for Val's rings - will she finally get her happy ever after?

A heartwarming tale that will reaffirm the belief that friends and family are the most precious gifts we can have.

Shari Low is an author whose books I just KNOW I'm going to love. No review or plot explanation needed as every one is sure to have me hooked and happy! I loved the four main characters in this book. Val, Sophie, Alice and Rory's stories take turns with each chapter and as those chapters tend to end on a mini cliff hanger, I just had to read on. These four people are lovely, kind individuals who you really feel could be your friends but inevitably there is that one nasty person who has you fearing for your friends' well being. The hope that this villain will get his comeuppance will make the pages fly. I absolutely loved this book. Intrigue, love, precious, lost jewellery and some witty dialogue make for a story that is a joy to read. Highly recommended. My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a pre release copy in exchange for my honest review.

OMG bring tissues… this book had extra meaning as Shari begins saying this story is based on a true life experience for her…and at the end of the book we hear how it ended for her. In this book though; one of my favourite characters, Val, is mourning the loss of her beloved husband Don. Adored. neice and her best friend Carly and Carol convince her to come to London for a break…at the last moment she throws her beloved ring pouch in her bag…in it contains four of the most special rings from Don; her daughter Dee and her best friend Josie. En route to the airport she loses them; and this is the story of her journey to find them again…along the way there’s laughter; tears; a whole load of drama. I absolutely loved this book; and even better a whole new host of characters introduced so we can expect even more fabulous books with our favourites!

I am an avid fan of the author Shari Low, and it is with some trepidation I always read the next new book as I wonder will it be as good as the last? And yes they are always as good if not better than the last. Her style of writing touches your heart, her characters become your friends, their stories become your story, you become invested. You will laugh and cry and be sad when you turn the last page as you just want to keep on being part of the story.

One long Weekend introduces new characters such as Sophie, who has arrive in Glasgow for one weekend, can she find a love lost?

The Mclenn family, Larry, a corrupt ex-politician, who now drives a taxi for a living and is a bitter, horrible man making his families life a misery, his long suffering wife Alice who will do anything to protect her son Rory from the horrible Larry and their son Rory, who is estranged from his Mum and Dad and now his marriage is breaking down. Can Alice & Rory get their happy ending they deserve and will Larry get what's due to him?

This book also brings back Val, with her witty one liners that will make you laugh out loud and now suffering from so many losses that you will want to cry along with her. Val has lost some incredibly important and sentimental rings, that can never be replaced, can she be reunited with them? We catch up with the double duo that are Carly & Carol who are on hand to help Val find her treasured possessions using all their connections, social media and podcasts, none of which Val is sure she understands but will go along with anyway!

If you read One Long Weekend all the questions above will be answered and I guarantee you will not be able to put this book down until you have read the very last page, is is just a wonderfull, well written story. Enjoy

Shari Low does a fabulous job of making you feel like you’ve known her characters for some time (in fairness that is the case with some if you’ve read previous books) and also fitting their stories into a short time frame. This takes place over three days and features grieving Val, Sophie who is hoping to reignite love with her ex, long suffering wife Alice and her estranged son Rory. Each has a great individual story but all are ultimately linked by Val losing four rings that were incredibly special to her. This is a real character read which packs a lot in on every page, it features emotional storylines but is equally so uplifting throughout, there’s a simplicity to each characters storyline that makes it work really well and I loved reading what each character was up to at different points each day. This was a really fun and easy read, very warm-hearted and great escapism.

I love a Shari Low novel, she has become an automatic read for me and this one did not disappoint. I love that she weaves characters from previous books in to her stories and this one was inspired by events from her own life.

Val, weeks after being widowed, is travelling to London to stay with her nieces when disaster strikes and she misplaces some beloved jewellery. Told from various characters' perspectives and how their paths cross this is a pacy, emotive read.

Thanks to netgalley and boldwood books for the advance copy of this book.

I love this authors work! One Long Weekend tells the story of Val, Sophie, Alice and Rory over the course of a weekend. As to be expected when reading this authors work, you will, at times, find yourself to be a bit of a snotty mess as you become so invested in all the characters! A must-read for anyone looking for an easy but heartwarming read.

Oh my goodness, Shari, another fabulous story! It brings back my all time favourite, Auntie Val (oh how I wish she was MY Auntie Val) as she embarks on a journey to find some missing items. There’s some new characters along the way and it’s another book filled with laughter, tears, and the best characters ever. Read it…..you won’t be disappointed!

I love this authors books and this one was just as fabulous as always and read it in pretty much one sitting. This story was an emotional rollercoaster of a read and was told from multiple points of view and was made more special by being written about an event that had happened in the authors life.

This was a moving and beautiful story that restores your faith in human nature and gives you a fuzzy feeling in side. A word of warning though you might need tissues at the ready.

This is written from a multiple point of view each chapter being headed by the relevant character. The intro explains a real incident in Shari’s life which went on to inspire part of the book and how it's woven in soon emerges. Val has lost her most treasured rings on a journey, the first since she lost her husband. Alice works double shifts and hates her husband since he did something terrible a few years ago that cost them everything- most of all her relationship with their son. Rory, the son, has also found himself in a sticky situation estranged from his wife whom he was really hoping to get back together with. Sophie has been proposed to but feels it’s not quite the right time in her life just yet. This tells of their stories over the days of one long weekend.

It is truly a delight and honour to read Shari’s books, there is just something very special about them. A few pages in and I'm already invested in the plot and the characters. Shari is one of those authors I don't have to read the blurb/promo about, I know I'm going to enjoy it whatever it's about and so far (please don’t change your magic formula!) I have been on an emotional rollercoaster each and every time, but left with a warm hearted feeling to restore my faith in human nature. I loved Val and her friends and so felt for Alice and Rory. I think there’s something in this that will resonate with most people one way or another. A truly stunning read I more than thoroughly enjoyed.

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

She’s done it again. Another fantastic book by Shari Low, she never fails to impress. All the characters gel together so well. Such an endearing and heartfelt story, my entire weekend was spent just reading this. Absolutely beautiful writing and creative imagination. I understand Shari writes a lot from her own experiences and they make great reading. Don’t ever stop writing Shari, you are amazing!

Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for allowing me an advanced copy to read in exchange for my open and honest review. As always, my reviews will also be posted on Amazon, Goodreads and Waterstones and interaction on Facebook and instagram where possible.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing this book, with my honest review below.

I love Shari Low and One Long Weekend was no exception. Shari weaves a tale following four people over the course of a weekend connected by events that eventually lead to some hope for our four characters. Of Val, Sophie, Alice, and Rory I think I gravitated towards Val the most for her heartbreak and hope.

This was an easy read but tugged at your heart and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to wile away a few days thoroughly transported with their emotional buttons pushed. I also enjoyed the dialogue and balance of humor keeping things lighter, so don’t worry about getting too deep emotionally if that’s not your style.

Shari Low is an auto-read author for me; so I was thrilled to have been kindly provided with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

There is something addictive in Sharis writing, and One Long Weekend does not disappoint. Shari flawlessly weaves together the characters stories, in an enchanting way. I truly felt as though I lived and experienced Val's heartbreak, and all the journeys the characters went on. Sharis characters are always well developed, and as always I loved the Glasgow setting. Another must read novel, perfect for on the plane or by the pool.

I was really excited to get this one, but honestly, it just fell a bit flat for me. It was really cute, but it wasn’t unique at all. I did like it, it just fell flat.
