What can I say? This was bittersweet in the most beautiful ways. How do you say goodbye to a family you’ve followed and loved for four years? I think the answer is you don’t really, it’s not goodbye, it’s be back soon, because I’ll always come back to the Bergman’s.
This was the perfect end to a cherished series. Viggo was pretty young when we first met him, when we caught glimpses of him pulling pranks or stealing food from the elder siblings fridges. One thing about Viggo is he’s always been a hopeless romantic, in an odd way the perfect way for this series to end was with the romance fanatic finally getting their happy ending.
As always, Chloe Liese takes so much care with the representation in this book as well as the more difficult themes the book may tackle. I’ll forever be thankful to Chloe for bringing these books into our lives, on a surface level because I just love them! On a deeper level because without Chloe showing me what autistic women can look like, I never would have seeked a diagnosis. In a world where autistic women still fly under the radar I’ll always be grateful that there are autistic writers like Chloe bringing awareness to it.
Quite a soppy review, but the Bergman’s own my heart and a few paragraphs about the weight and power these books and their representation holds is the least I can do!
Received as an ARC in return for my honest review.

This was book number 7 in the Bergman Brothers series and I wish I’d found them sooner. I loved Chloe’s story telling ability and writing style combined with brilliant characters and great world building. This book was right up my street.
Viggo and Tallulah were so good both separately and together. Viggo is a guy who clearly adds too much to his plate (hello ADHD life). I could truly connect to him and his struggles with managing everything. I loved Tallulah being the grumpy one in this situation as it’s always nice to see a flip reverse it on the grumpy sunshine dynamic. Her character really added to the story and helped balance out Viggo perfectly.
I can’t wait to go back and read all of the other books in the series, I’m ready to devour them!!
4.5⭐️ Although I’m super happy that we finally get Viggo’s book, it’s also bittersweet to say goodbye to the Bergman’s however I feel like this was the perfect ending to the series and it’s up there with Everything for you and If Only You as my faves in the series. As always, Chloe Liese has written a romance with believable characters who feel real and who you wish you knew in real life! She also portrays neurodivergence and chronic illness with sensitivity and accuracy, not just relying on stereotypes.
Viggo is the sweetest cinnamon roll, a romance book loving, sex positive, caring and dedicated hopeless romantic- he is the epitome of a man written by a woman and it’s hard not to love him (seriously he is a walking green flag!) Him and Talulah are in many ways opposites who attract (a grumpy x sunshine couple aka my fave!) but they bring out the best in eachother and I feel like their relationship, a sort of second chance friends to lovers romance, supported their development as individuals in a way that felt natural.
Only and Forever felt like an ode to the readers- it’s set in a bookshop / a bookshop adjacent apartment, the hero is obsessed with historical romance books and his love interest is a writer. It was sweet and spicy and all round a great read for anyone who loves contemporary romance!
The final book in the Bergman family series concentrates on Viggo: the romantic, the one who has meddled in his siblings' happy-ever-afters and now finds himself the only one still looking for love. However his expectations of falling in love do not factor in Tallulah, for whom love is a fiction (and definitely not a romantic one).
This is such a satisfying series conclusion. Viggo and Tallulah try to deny their attraction while helping each other in purely practical ways, and in the process stumble beautifully into redefining all their expectations. (Helped, of course, by well-meaning family interventions which are deserved payback for Viggo.) There are plenty of swoony, humorous, and tear-jerking moments, sometimes within the same page, and the ADHD and diabetes issues are woven into the characters' lives in a casual and realistic manner. I also loved how this showcased the Bergman family as a whole, their love for each other and for the people they draw into their circle - this is one of many elements that makes it so satisfying, as well as a little bittersweet, but the series as a whole is one I will come back to again and again.
4.5 ⭐
What a beautiful ending to an amazing series 🥹
It's bittersweet to have received an ARC because it means I get to be reunited with my favourites quicker but it also means the series has finished 💔
After seeing Ziggo help each of his siblings find their HEA, I was desperate to see his own and I'm so happy with what we received!
We have the biggest romantic meet a woman who doesn't believe in love, but after a little ✨ forced proximity ✨ we get to see that even opposites can attract.
Tallulah and her healing journey was a beautiful thing to read and I'm so glad she didn't push things off and actually wanted to learn about herself
Ziggo is just perfect as always, and the way he is with Tallulah melts me 🥹
Chloe has done such a wonderful job at the diversity of these books, and although I'm so sad to see this series end, I can't wait to see what she writes next 🤍
Thank you for the ARC Penguin - Cornerstone

Only and Forever is the last book in the Bergman Brothers series and what a way to go out. This was a great ending to the series!!
Viggo has probably been one of my favourite siblings throughout the entire series and the fact that this man openly loves romance books just does something to me. He is so unapologetically himself and I just love him so much!!
I loved the relationship dynamic between Viggo and Talulah. They are very much golden retriever x black cat in the best way possible - Viggo an avid romance reader and Talulah a romance hater - it just worked so well!! I loved their relationship development and seeing Talulah come to the realisation that she can be loved and love.
It feel so bittersweet finishing this series and I absolutely loved every single minute of it.
Thank you NetGalley and Penguin UK for sending me an early copy in exchange for my honest review.
I may never emotionally recover from this series. I am not ready to say goodbye.
Was this the love story I was expecting for Viggo? Absolutely not.
Was I initially disappointed? A little bit, I won't lie.
But the more I read Viggo & Tallulah's story, it made sense. Viggo & Tallulah felt like a subtle romance, with them both slowly falling in love with each other. I was expecting something big and loud, a bit like Viggo, but Tallulah was such a quiet character. This story worked for them both, and gave us a deeper insight into Viggo.
My only criticism would be, the epilogue did not feel like enough. I would have loved to have had updates from every single sibling as the perfect goodbye, but I'm hopeful that leaves room for a novella (slides credit card across to Chloe Liese).
Tropes:

I received an advanced copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I absolutely adored this book. I would read Chloe’s grocery list at this point and she most likely make me cry and have all the feelings. This was a brilliant conclusion to the Bergman series. I’m sad to see it end but this was the way to do it. It even inspired me to draw Viggo’s bookshop so I mean what better review than that.
VIGGO THE MAN YOU ARE!!!
This book made me feel so nostalgic...I'm going to miss all of these characters!
The book was really cute and wholesome (with some spicy scenes) and I really enjoyed it! I was hoping for more scenes with the whole family, but at the same time I don't think it would have helped Viggo's journey.
I love the representation in this book (ADHD and diabetes).
PS: now I want to have my own romance bookstore.

Only and Forever is the long awaited Viggo Bergman book and it was a serve. It's such a sweet, emotional and heartwarming romance. I loved Tallulah for him. She's such a badass, but also relatable and sweet!
Chloe Liese managed to create a beautiful slowburn story and still give it layers. I felt their struggles deep in my bones and loved seeing them overcome them and learn to trust and love each other.
I'm going to miss this series and these characters so much. The Bergmans are one of my favorite fictional families and saying goodbye to them was emotional.
Please pick this series up ASAP because it's a gem!

"i'm no love expert, but i think i just might be an expert on loving you"
I love the Bergman Brothers books and when i saw this final one come up, i was so excited. I love how diverse these books are, and the relationship dynamics between the Bergman family members and how untoxic Viggo was.
Chloe Liese has done it again! The finale to the Bergman Brothers series was worth the wait and lived up to the Bergman legacy she set across the six previous books.
This was just so heartfelt and warm. I loved the subversion of the grumpy sunshine trope, with Viggo being such a loveable and glowing hero who adores romance and the idea of falling in love, while Tally was grumpy and closed off, a little prickly but melted just for Viggo and his charm. It was done really organically and I really enjoyed how they were each others foils, almost— equals and opposites. They are so different personality wise but craved the same things deep down and it’s what made them so lovely to read. They just clicked effortless and it just made for a generally fun and easy read.
And the main success for me was the type 1 diabetes representation with Tally. I’ve had the condition for 13 years and very rarely do authors get it right. The tender care Liese put into her research was so apparent and it truly meant the world to me— the casual nuances of the condition that most people aren’t aware of or don’t even care to know, but Liese included in the book just made me smile so big and even feel a bit teary eyed. I can always count on Chloe Liese to do representation justice and here it was extra special to me!
It’s a bittersweet one here because we’re saying goodbye to the Bergmans but what a send off. It was the one they and the readers deserved, and I’m so excited for the final Wilmot sisters book hopefully coming this autumn <3
I can’t believe I just turned the last page of the last book of the Bergman Brothers Series. I am NOT ok! I fell in love with this series a few pages into Only When It’s Us and proceeded to fall in love with it a lot bit more with every new book.
I knew this time would come and I’m heartbroken that I won’t get follow this family along on any more adventures but god, what an amazing end to this fantastic series.
I’ve had a soft spot for Viggo since the start. After seeing him grow up through this series, it was heartwarming to see him finally find his happy ending. Tallulah was a great partner for him and I loved seeing them fall in love.
Viggo and Tallulah’s character developments were amazing! After witnessing how toxic love can be as she grew up, love was the last thing Tallulah wanted; in fact she went as far as to say she didn’t believe in it. Enter Viggo, the romance reader who loves love and can’t wait to find his person (I am Viggo and Viggo is me lol).
When they found each other agreeing to a mutually beneficial arrangement that had Tallulah live with Viggo, the chemistry became undeniable but before they could be together, Tallulah had some work to do and some therapy sessions to go to.
One of my favourite things about this book was how open and vulnerable Viggo and Tallulah allowed themselves to be with each other. Ultimately, this was what allowed them to find their happy ending. Their communication was great, they slowed down when they had to, gave each other time and only when they were both ready did they take the next step. It was incredibly sweet - I love them so much🥺
I also need to mention how amazing it was to see the rest of the siblings - especially my faves: Ren and Frankie🥺. The epilogue brought me to tears. I loved seeing everyone together one last time, celebrating not only Viggo’s birthday, but also LOVE🥰
If you haven’t read this series, you’re missing out! The Bergmans will always hold a special place in my heart and I really hope we get to see more of them at some point🥺
A huge thank you to Penguin Cornerstone for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review 💛
Finally full circle of this awesome series which ends with Viggo, Mr. Romance himself. What can I say, I loved this bunch. Loved how author made ordinary characters with lots of issues into extraordinary heroes. I so enjoyed reading this series and this final book wasn't exception!
This was enjoyable but I wasn't roped into this one like I have been for other books in this series.
I enjoyed the diabetes rep and the ADHD rep...it was interesting to see how this influenced the dynamics of the relationship and how it connected them romantically.
I love that Viggo was so in touch with his emotions but I think I wanted more in the chemistry department. I felt they were very good friends but not necessarily romantic.
‘Only And Forever’ by Chloe Liese is the seventh and final book in the wonderful Bergman Brothers series, starring Viggo Bergman (the caring, romance novel-loving, mysterious man whose story I have been anticipating forever) and Tallulah Clarke. After flying through this fantastic novel with a huge smile on my face, this couple may just have become my favourite (sorry, Axel and Rooney!)
Chloe Leise has such a talent for creating beautiful, flawed, unique and realistic characters, and this ability shines brightly through this book’s leads - with Viggo’s ADHD and perfectionism and Tallulah’s Type 1 Diabetes and attachment anxiety dealt with sensitively and portrayed as parts of them rather than insurmountable problems or their whole personalities.
There are so many layers of back-story between Viggo and Tallulah and I giggled at how blatantly the Bergman (and Bergman-adjacent) gang tried to push them together. Their relationship evolution felt genuine and faithful to their personalities and pasts. I adored how he helped her write the romantic elements of her challenging second thriller and she worked at his bookshop.
I LOVED:
- We start at the legendary A-Frame, and the recap of the other siblings/their partners led to joyful memories of their meet-cutes and love stories
- We also get a famous Bergman Brothers summit
- Viggo rescues five baby kittens and two elderly dogs (I am OBSESSED!)
- Tallulah’s books sound wonderful, and I need Viggo to open a ‘Bergman’s Romance Books and More’ near me asap
- Viggo’s selflessness and adoration of historical romance made their intimate scenes beautiful, and I appreciated how his sexual inexperience was accepted and respected
- They supported each other’s dreams and passions
- He called her ‘Tallulahloo’
- She planned the BEST grand gesture
This was a five star read for me and the PERFECT HEA for a series incredibly close to my heart.
I received an advance Digital Review Copy of this book from the publisher Random House UK, Cornerstone via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Viggo finally gets his happily ever after! I've gotta say I was dreading this book... Because it's the last one 😭 and I have loved this series and didn't want it to end!! But I loved Tallulah and Viggo together and I loved that there was no unnecessary third act drama introduced to their story, just a steady consistent development of their relationship with A* class communication the whole way through. Can we get a round of applause please for healthy communication in a relationship? With no rush/pressure placed on a relationship resistant individual? With the introduction of therapy to deal with trauma and complex emotions, rather than an expectation that 'love will cure all'? Daaaaaam Liese. I bloody loved this.
I have been waiting my whole life to read a love story like Viggo and Tallulah’s.
Off the bat when I first started my Bergman journey Viggo was an instant favourite- this hopeless romantic who was so heavily invested in helping his siblings pair off and find their match of course naturally it would only makes sense that it would eventually come back to bite him in the ass.
In the best way possible.
In the form of a Vespa-riding, doesn’t believe in HEA’s, icy-blue haired woman named Tallulah.
I’m so smitten with these two it’s unreal.
Tallulah’s journey of learning what love means to her was so so beautiful. Giving herself the time and space to grow was just incredible to watch play out. Same with Viggo, I loved that they told eachother their boundaries, didn’t rush into things- mostly- and allowed themselves to become better versions of themselves on their own and together.
This book was about healing, being vulnerable, opening up, communication and so much more. It was messy, realistic and just everything I could have hoped for Viggo’s book.
My heart feels full.
I’m so sad to say goodbye to this series but knowing that they all got their HEA’s makes saying goodbye all the more worth
I want to cry. This is the end of such an important series. Many years ago when I picked up the first book I felt seen, Liese has written about so many characters who represent myself and the people I care about. This book she smashed it again.
Only and forever focuses on Viggo, a true romantic, and Lula, a person who is recovering from a lifetime of disappointment from those who should have loved the most. I identify so much with Lula in this way and have definitely some of the same reservations as her. Luckily, my "charlie" has similar reservations which he over came and my brother is one of the people I see as having been able to go through the motions in accepting how to live and love.
Everything about this book is poetic. As a wide-reader and a teacher of literature Liese should be taught on how to write and how to write well. Her words evoke laughter and tears (happy ones). She confronts the idea that healthy relationships should not serve sympathy but empathy. As a person who has had people who have shown both, Viggo's unashamed empathy of Lula's diabetes and past trauma is one of the best characters.
I have worked in a bookshop for the past five years and this book makes me want to have my own bookshop. Definitely one of a genre which I love whole heartedly. Books are memories and lives of possibilites which should be shared with as many people as possible. This book is definitely included.
