This was okay, but I think marketing this as a thriller sets you off with unrealistic expectations. There was so much romance here and the rest of the story was a mystery, but there was never much suspense or action. Everything just kind of happens as it happens especially in the first half which was super slow. Towards the end, the pacing got better and I did enjoy the setting as well as the atmospheric writing but some suspense really would have helped with the reading experience.

the book has two parts before and after, which grips you in instantly. starting with the after part lures you into the story quickly, as you wonder, what is the main character referring too, and why she is trying to find scott?

as maddy, ghost writes a autobiography for one of londons top, private surgeons, whilst staying in her hidden away cottage. the reader feels fascinated and enticed to want to know more. is everything as it really seems ?

when maddy tries to go deeper into the surgeons past and also learn more about her practise, she hits dead end after dead end. what is this company hiding.

i really love how the author depicted maddy’s experience with loss and how it truly drove her to be insane at times.

every chapter lures you in deeper as strange instances keep happening.this is the perfect take on a classic thriller.

it’s superbly written. the social media inclusion was perfect and added more suspense to the story. there is constant twists and turns, so in the end, readers won’t want to put the book down.
