This book had me absolutely gripped from start to finish, and I mean I was gripping hold of the edge of my seat as well as the book!!
Evelyn’s ruthless determination to exact revenge for the death of her son Joshua is relentless, and I mean RELENTLESS! This woman means business and she wants to exact her own kind of justice once Aaron is released from prison on parole, and she will stop at absolutely nothing.
Evelyn’s husband doesn’t recognise the woman she has become, her grief and pain have eclipsed all else, yet his enduring love for her really shines through despite the violence and pain she causes.
The character development in this book is superb - I wasn’t initially sure where my sympathies lay and ultimately found myself placing them in the most unexpected of places.
I loved this book - the tension is immense and it’s brilliantly written from start to finish. It’s definitely made my list of top reads for this year!

Me 🤝 always ready and willing to buy a new Jack Jordan book. Jack is definitely an auto-buy author for me, he is the king of the moral dilemma and his writing never fails in my opinion.

In Redemption, we are introduced to married couple Evelyn and Tobias who are about to go on a road trip… their destination? To hunt down Aaron, the man who killed their precious son and who has just been released from prison. It transpires that Evelyn is the driving force behind the pursuit of Aaron, and when Tobias starts to have second thoughts, she ditches him and resumes her mission solo.

I cannot deny that my heart was in my throat for a LOT of this book! The cat and mouse chase between Evelyn and Aaron was heart-pounding and tense. The all-consuming grief felt by Evelyn and Tobias following their baby boy being taken from them was so impactful and hit me right in the heart as a mum. But everything is not as clear cut as initially depicted and Aaron’s side of the story meant I ended up swinging between empathy for him and righteousness for Evelyn’s quest.

With the fast-paced tension and trail of destruction through the pages, I was expecting a crescendo of a conclusion but the ending did seem to taper off and lose steam which is why I’ve given 4 stars. However, Redemption is definitely a must-read: it’s a dark, difficult to put down book packed to the brim with rage, revenge, sorrow, guilt and murderous intent.

Evelyn lost her world when her son Joshua passed away when he was hit by a car. When she discovers that the killer, Aaron, has been released from jail, she knows it is time for her to seek revenge. With her husband Tobias by her side, the two venture on a road trip seeking Aaron out. Will they find him?

I always know I'm in for a treat when I pick up a Jack Jordan book. Redemption kept my heart pounding as I was reading - it was so addictive! I was on the edge of my seats throughout, just wondering how things were going to pan out. I must have gone through every emotion while reading this book. I could understand Evelyn's point of view but I could also sympathize with Aaron, who paid his time for his crime and just wanted a quiet life. The ending was absolutely perfect. If you haven't read this author yet and you're a thriller fan, you need to pick one of his books up - you won't be disappointed.

Eleven years have passed since Tobias and Evelyn's lives were ripped apart by the death of their only child Joshua at the age of 9. Since that day, they have grown further and further apart and are barely recognisable as the couple they once were with the insurmountable grief consuming them both.

When the man responsible for their son's death, Aaron, is released from prison, Evelyn makes it her mission to hunt him down and make him pay for what he did to her family, while Tobias just wants to save his wife from herself and Aaron just wants to try and move on with his life after serving his time.

What follows is a fast-paced, action-packed story that is very brutal in places, following the three main characters as they ultimately head towards each other. Packed with raw emotion this was tense and heartbreaking and definitely recommended if you love an emotionally-heightened thriller.

I absolutely LOVE Jack Jordan. He is one of the nicest people ever and I am so happy for him that he is finally getting the recognition he deserves for his books.

Redemption is his latest book published by Simon & Schuster and I read this alongside 100 members of my Book of The Month Group on Facebook and we all LOVED it.

This is the emotional and heart-breaking story of Evelyn and Tobias Moore. Eleven years ago their only child Joshua was killed by a hit and run driver on his first school outing. He was 9 years old and was left to die on a deserted road alone. Since that tragic day, Evelyn and Tobias have drifted further and further apart, their grief has destroyed their marriage and they are barely surviving. Evelyn is fuelled by anger and hatred towards the man who killed her son and Tobias is trying to save his marriage and protect his wife from herself.

When Aaron Alexander, the young man who killed Joshua is released from jail, all he wants is to start his life afresh having served his prison sentence, however Evelyn won’t let that happen and she is on a mission to hunt him down and kill him.

I’m not going to say much more, except this is a really fast-paced story with lots of action, lots of violence, lots of heartache and lots of emotion.

The three main characters of Evelyn, Tobias and Aaron are all fascinating, flawed and fully believable. The grief and guilt oozed from the pages and my own feelings towards them changed from chapter to chapter.

With the backdrop of San Diego and through the Nevada desert, this is an atmospheric story which could be amazing if it was to be made into a film as the story is such a rollercoaster of emotions, tensions and violence.

I definitely recommend this book to lovers of fast paced action thrillers with a huge emotional punch.

This was one of my most anticipated 2024 reads and my first holiday read & it did not let me down! Taking the concept of a cat & mouse game to a whole new level, this was a multilayered, very well thought out psychological thriller that had me gripped from beginning to end.

This book brings drama, action, pace & emotion to the table with addictively short chapters, a rollercoaster of emotions & plenty of grit and gore (I’ll admit, I had to skip a whole chapter bc it grossed me out so much🥲)

The plot was super thought provoking— two grieving parents both seeking revenge but in very different ways. The fact I empathised with every single character, even the one I thought I wouldn’t, is a complete credit to Jack’s writing. I never expect to get emotional over a thriller but I shed tears multiple times & the ending had me in bits. Please do be aware that this follows strong themes of child loss & the grief surrounding and is a tough read if these subjects affect you 🖤

If you enjoyed Samantha Downing’s 𝚑𝚎 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚒𝚝, you’ll love this—— very different plots but a similar fast paced, desert set road trip chase. 𝙳𝚘 𝚗𝚘 𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚖 is still in firm top spot but I absolutely could not put this down & highly recommend giving it a read!

You'll always find me at the front of the queue when a new Jack Jordan book is released and I had very high expectations when I picked up Redemption. Not only was I not disappointed, Jack Jordan saw my expectations and raised them to a whole new level. WOW!

Jack Jordan isn't called the Master of the Moral Dilemma for no reason and whilst there is an absolute belter of a moral dilemma in Redemption, there's also a thought-provoking twist that reminds us that there are two sides to every story. But which side will each reader be on? Team Evelyn or Team Aaron?

No parent would ever want to be in Evelyn and Tobias Moore's position; their beautiful 9-year-old son Joshua went off to camp and never returned after being killed in a hit-and-run. Justice was served and the man who killed Joshua went to prison...but only for eleven years. I could totally understand Evelyn's fury - Joshua's life was cruelly stolen and eleven years of prison is simply not enough for his killer to pay. As soon as the sentence was delivered, Evelyn decided to make Aaron Alexander pay the ultimate price: a life for a life.

I couldn't help but feel sympathy for the Moores; their marriage has been under a considerable strain since Joshua's death as Evelyn single-mindedly planned her revenge. Tobias has his own plan though: he wants to stop Evelyn from becoming a murderer and if that means protecting Aaron, then that's what he'll do.

Now this is where the story takes an unexpected turn as I was fully prepared to hate Aaron but peeling back the layers of his story broke my heart. One tragic event changed the course of his life - he didn't plan to kill Joshua unlike Evelyn plans to kill Aaron. The character of Aaron is so beautifully portrayed and I found his story incredibly poignant and emotional. I will never forget him and the lessons his story taught me.

There appears to be no limit to Jack Jordan's talent and imagination so prepare for a long night of reading when you pick up Redemption as you won't be able to put it down. Set out in sections representing the stages of grief, Redemption is an absolute masterpiece. Once again, Jack Jordan scoops all the stars for his unmissable new book.

Unmissable, unputdownable and unforgettable - do not miss Redemption: one of the most eagerly anticipated books of the year and one that will not disappoint.

I chose to read an ARC and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Thank you Simon & Schuster and Netgalley for the ARC.
I've read Jack's last two books and was really excited to read this one.
The story is told from 3 different views and was well written, but I found it dragged slightly and could have been shortened.
However, it was gripping at times and the ending was good.
I would have given 4 starts but as I found it dragged I have given 3 - sorry!
More by Jack though please.

Is this novel his best one yet? Well it could very well be the case if you ask me. This is my seventh read and if you want to know I rated 3 books with 5 stars and 3 books with 4 stars so this one’s tipping the scales for real to him being a five star author for me.

Redemption had me evaluating and reevaluating my feelings. You have a mother and father who lost their son in a hit and run car accident, and you have the person who was responsible for it. Whose side are you on? It looks like it’s easy to answer but it is not 😉

To be honest, I quickly abandoned team Evelyn, and not only because she’s planning to murder someone but because she has a serious mean streak that came forward before I even knew how bad she was. If you go for the defenseless (nothing graphic thank god) then you’re written off immediately by me. I was teaming up with her husband more but I discounted half a star because he’s just so naïve which made me want to shake some sense into him myself at times. His wife left him behind with no money, no car, no phone, no shoes and even that doesn’t make him see the light. He thinks she’ll listen to him, or that’s his hope. He should have gone to the police like any sane person after being treated that way but I have to admit that the cat and mouse game that the two of them are playing with Aaron as a cheesy snack was very addictive.

Apart from this small niggle Redemption was truly amazing, it was very high on tension and a real rollercoaster of action. Don’t read this novel if you don’t want to see anyone killed ;-). I had the best time with it and it’s been a while since a book got my heart rate up and had me flipping pages so fast.

Another corker of a thriller by Jack Jordan. After her 9 year old son is killed in a hit and run, Evelyn is determined to avenge his death when the convicted driver Aaron is released from prison 11 years later. Her husband Tobias doesn't agree with Evelyn's plan.
The narrative is fast paced, tense and gripping. I raced through this book, and thought it was so well plotted and twisty. I felt the ending let it down very slightly but otherwise this was an excellent read.

I have very much been looking forward to reading this book. I really like Jack Jordan as an author so I was anticipating being shocked, hooked and embedded within an intense plot line. Redemption gave me all of these things.

What surprised me the most about this story was how very sad it made me feel. All of the characters were broken and they were all battling their own demons. The plot truly was quite doom and gloom but I was there for it and I felt sympathy and empathy for every character at one time or another. What didn’t surprise me was some of the more gruesome scenes. They were described so well that I was either grimacing from imagining it or holding some part of my body as though I could feel the pain (tooth scene; I’m looking at you).

I was quite firm in my feelings towards the characters from the beginning. I didn’t like Evelyn. Although I was able to empathise with the horrible events that had happened to her, I couldn’t allow her to use that as an excuse for her horrendous behaviour. I liked Tobias much more and thought that he was a kind man but I also couldn’t get behind how he enabled his wife when he could have put a firm stop to all of this before it had started. I felt deep sympathy for Aaron. The odds were stacked against him since birth, which doesn’t remove culpability, but he wasn’t the monster that Evelyn believed him to be.

The whole time I was reading this book, I was overwhelmed with a sense of unease. Each event was a cruel twist of fate that just kept getting worse. Placing this story in the desert was a stroke of genius, it added the perfect setting for what was a lonely and terrifying few days for each of the main characters. A fantastic plot that had me holding my breath with superb characters that brought out all kinds of emotions in me. Definitely recommend.

A tale of murder and revenge. Evelyn's world was torn apart when Aaron killed her young son in a hit-and-run. When Aaron is released from prison, Evelyn will stop at nothing to make him pay for his actions. Can her husband Tobias stop her, before she goes too far? An intoxicating twisty thrill-ride.

Yikes! A brilliant roller coaster of a ride that made me ugly cry (lots and lots), laugh out loud (not often) and stiffen in horror (often).
I literally couldn’t put this book down. It is totally thrilling. Tobias and Evelyn’s nine-year-old son died after a hit and run accident. The driver, Aaron, was imprisoned and now, 11 years later, has been released, having served his time. Evelyn has never stopped grieving – or plotting to kill Aaron. She now sets out, armed with a number of different weapons, to find him, a reluctant Tobias in tow.
We read the story from the points of view of these three characters - and wowzer, is it a story! Action-packed is an understatement. And yet it’s underpinned by very relatable feelings of desperate grief, love and hopelessness. Author Jack Jordan brilliantly explores the psychology behind all their actions, making this as much a psychological thriller as a crime thriller. And did I mention that he sure can string his words together?
Well worth a read if this is your genre!

This had an intriguing premise and reading it felt like balancing on a knife edge – the tension was immaculate and all-consuming. It is an unimaginable dilemma, richly imagined on page and given pathos and humanity. You raced through the pages as new twists were unveiled.

This book was absolutely incredible. The drama and tension never let up, making for a truly exhilarating read. I could feel my heart rate soar during some of the scenes. The various POVs were fantastic, allowing me to empathize with each character and understand their different motives and aspirations. I was completely hooked.

I absolutely loved this book, and it has become my new favorite by Jack Jordan!

This was a roller coaster of a read. Seriously. All the Jack Jordan books I’ve read have been unpredictable, gritty and thought provoking. Including this one. It was fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat.

It would be a great book club book. Which is a rare find in a thriller. What would you do if you found out the man that killed your husband was out of jail? What would you do if you found out your spouse planned to kill him? This one got my brain spinning and I am still thinking about it today. That’s the plot of this one. Well and the cat and mouse game that unfolds.

I felt for Evelyn and Tobias but I can’t say I liked them. It was amazing how I formed opinions of the characters early on in this one. And how those opinions morphed and changed multiple times throughout the book.

This is powerful, emotional and thought provoking. I’m not sure the tension could be any higher. The grit and determination of all the characters was off the charts.

This is one of the most unique thrillers I’ve read in a while and trust me when I say, if you are a thriller lover, you need to read this one!

Aaron is being released from jail after serving 11 year for killing Joshua Moore. Joshua's mother Evelyn, still consumed by grief and anger has been planning her revenge for much of those 11 years and is determined to deliver her view of justice to the man responsible for the death of her only child. Conflicted her husband Tobias is along for the ride, but do Evelyn and Tobias really agree on the right course of action. When true feelings are revealed and the plan comes into action how many will be caught in the crossfire? Will any of them survive the guilt and hatred?

This book was absolutely amazing had me completely gripped from start to finish. Intelligently written the story has you questioning your judgements time and time again as more of the story unfolds. It manges to be both brutal and utterly heart wrenching at the same time. It's hard to write all the praise I want without accidentally giving too much away but please if your on the fence about this story go read it. I promise you won't regret it.

This is an intense, action packed story of a mother's quest to avenge the killing of her child.

Evelyn and Tobias Moore lost their child Joshua, to a hit and run accident 11 years ago and the man responsible, Aaron Alexander, has just been released from prison early for good behaviour. For Evelyn, who has been living all these years with only revenge in mind, this is the trigger to set in motion her plans to kill the man who took away everything from her. Tobias is terrified of what she will do and determined to stop her even if he has to protect the man who killed his son.

We follow Evelyn, Tobias and Aaron on a cat and mouse chase involving stolen vehicles, gun shots and lots of often gory violence. It's not possible to understand Evelyn without being in her shoes but her unraveling and the consequences left me feeling less and less empathy for her nevertheless. Tobias telling himself he had to save her no matter what also didn't ring true after all that happened before he could get to her. It seemed very pointless to be honest, especially as there was no realisation on the part of either of them as to what they really needed to heal despite so much damage. I did understand her rage and his need to cling onto the hope that he could save her for as long as he could. Their emotion and pain was palpable and the love and care Tobias had for Evelyn shone through.

I felt more empathy for Aaron, the man who should be the one receiving nothing but hatred. His back story of neglect and abuse and then coming back from prison to find himself being targeted by Evelyn definitely evoked sympathy. I'm not sure if it was intentional but I felt sorrier for him than the grieving couple as the story proceeded.

While the tension of the chase was portrayed really well, I did think it went on for too long at times and could have struck a more emotional cord if it were shorter.
