This was the perfect, fast paced thriller that had me turning the pages late into the night. There were some great plot twists and for me, there was a new theme/trope/concept whatever you want to call it which I won’t give away here because I’m not about that spoiler life.
Read if you:
Enjoy morally grey characters
Have trust issues
Love a smart female lead

A fab read.
Stella and her husband Adam are on the trip of a lifetime, a three-week tour across Europe. But then the unthinkable happens. On the last day of their holiday, a Parisian café explodes with Adam inside.
What initially looks like a gas leak turns personal when the gendarmerie identify Adam as the target of the explosion, and they confront Stella with some startling allegations about her beloved husband. Determined to find out who the man she married really was, Stella follows the threads he left behind. But the more Stella discovers, the more she is forced to believe that Adam’s killers might be coming for her next. Can Stella expose the truth before she becomes the next target?
Kimberly has done it again. She has written a wonderful book. I enjoyed it very much.
Thanks to NetGalley and HQ for giving me an advance copy.
Loved this Book. Was fast paced action packed and full of twist! Highly r recommend, thanks Net galley
I enjoyed this fast paced thriller set in Europe and the world of blood antiquities. The story was action packed if slightly unbelievable but the narrative raced along to a satisfying denoumement. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc.
On the last day of a three week European trip a Parisian cafe explodes when Stella’s husband Adam is inside. When Stella discovers that her husband, an antiques dealer, was the target of the bomb she begins her own undercover investigation across Europe to discover the truth.
This is the first novel I’ve read by the author and I was drawn to it by reviews of her previous thrillers.
I found it difficult to initially get into The Paris Widow as the writing didn’t flow for me, the pace was uneven and at times too fast. Once I got used to the writing style I found it to be a fairly enjoyable and gripping thriller.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this digital ARC.
This is a fast-paced, literally explosive novel that takes readers around Europe after Stella’s husband, Adam, is supposedly killed in a terrorist attack in Paris. The disorientation following the explosion was really intense and this dragged me in to the narrative, keen to find out what happened to Adam and what Stella, the Paris Widow, would do next.
However, the explosion is merely the beginning as it soon becomes clear that Adam has been involved in dealings that immerse him in the criminal underworld. He is a wanted man and Stella fears for her life. Suddenly realising she can trust no one, Stella searches Adam’s belongings for clues: surely these accusations are untrue? And how do they link to Stella’s own past?
I enjoyed the mystery and action of the story, particularly as the writer moves to flashbacks several days earlier. These scenes are from Adam’s perspective and really inform on present day events. They add clues to Stella’s own investigations and it is like she is headed down a rabbit hole where answers just raise further questions. Her distrust of those around her is always proven correct and I liked how she was able to think logically, even amidst her grief over her husband.
There is plenty of suspense in this story and I think this is intensified by the foreign locations. Despite Paris being well-known, Stella is operating undercover mostly, desperately trying to keep the attention from her whilst delving into Adam’s secret life. I loved how the story takes readers beyond Paris as well: Luxembourg, Venice, Malta, to name but a few. It adds to the lavish, exoticness of Adam’s past and the corruption that he is accused of.
This was an entertaining action read and I enjoyed it immensely. I could not foresee how the story would conclude and liked seeing Stella on her quest for truth. Highly engaging.
With thanks to HQ and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was so good , I enjoyed reading it so much I didn't want to put it down, It had so many plots and twist in it , that it kept you guessing . Just when you think its going to go this way, you find out your wrong on who may have done stuff , like her hotel room being searched and was it mher husband who did it? or was it someone else that was after him. I hope to find more of Kemberly Bell books like this one. and the surprise ending , never thought that was going to happen like it did.
Stella is left reeling when an explosion in Paris ends up uncovering remains of her husband Adam's body. But when police come to speak to Stella, they tell her that Adam isn't who she thought he was. Stella is unsure what to believe and goes on the hunt to get her answers.
Oh my gosh! This book had me on the edge of my seat all the way through. Fast paced and so darn exciting, I was so eager to find out what Adam's story was. Stella was a fantastic detective. Some of the things she picked up on I doubt I would have been able to do if I was in the same position! This was a fantastic thriller. Highly recommend.
I read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine
Fabulous read
So unpredictable
Kept me on the edge of my sear
Highly recommend
I absolutely loved this book, what a page turner!! Domestic suspense/thriller, action packed and fast paced.
Adam and his wife Stella our travelling in Europe, a 3 week much needed vacation. Stella is a former flight attendant but now works in catering, Adam deals in antiques and has his own business and some very rich clients.
It’s their last day, they have had a delicious lunch in a quaint Parisian Cafe, they are heading back to the hotel to get their belongings before heading to the airport. Adam turns back for his sunglasses and tells Stella he will meet her in 10 mins. Here the story picks up its fast pace, they have literally been separated a few minutes when there is an explosion! Stella is panicking, Adam can not be found, The police think Adam is one of the victims, perhaps even the target.!
The investigation reveals Adam has been involved in criminal activity through his antique business, Stella cannot believe this, but it would seem both her and Adam have been keeping secrets from one another. Stella is determined not to leave Paris without Adam and will stop at nothing to get to the truth. The story is twisty and very clever.
Many thanks to Net Galley and HQ Publishing for an ARC of this book in exchange for a review. This is now my 6th book by this established, talented author and I will definitely be reading more. If you haven’t read a Kimberley Belle book I highly recommend you do. This one is one of those books where a 6th star is needed.
Loved the marriage lie so was excited to read this one !With thanks to netgalley for an early copy in return for an honest opinion
Having read other books by this author I knew it would be a great tale which it was I throughly enjoyed the characters and the premise and can highly recommend this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Many thanks to NetGalley, HQ Digital and Kimberly Belle for my ARC of "The Paris Widow' in return for an honest review.
This is a new author for me to read and I found it a cleverly plotted, intriguing read.
Stella and Adam, her husband, are in Paris as art of a European trip. Adam is killed in an explosion of a cafe and Stella finds out that Adam is not who she thinks he is.
Recommended.
I’ve enjoyed several books by this author and was really looking forward to reading this one.
Stella and Adam are travelling the world while he sources historical pieces he sells on via his small business. None of this seems suspicious to Stella until a bombing in Paris leaves her missing/ dead husband under investigation.
We follow Stella as she tries to find out where Adam is ( if alive) and what he’s been up to.
This had the potential to be a gripping thriller but I feel like it fell short. There was a dramatic conclusion but everything tied up too neatly for me.
I love Kimberly Belle and I really enjoyed this twisted mystery. It is a dark story that keeps you guessing throughout. Not as amazing as her other books unfortunately but a great read nonetheless xx
This book had me hooked from the beginning. From the explosive start to the way the plot unfolded and we got to know the main characters more. It’s a pacy, gripping thriller that I couldn’t put down. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author. Thank you to NetGalley, HQ and the author for the chance to review.
I found this to be tough going. The pacing is odd, and I did skip some pages. Sadly this one wasn't for me, though. Thanks for the chance to review.
I have read quite a few books from this author and enjoyed them all but I found this very hard to get into the storyline.
The characters were mainly good but for me personally it didn't keep me on the edge of my seat
Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for this ARC I am only sorry I didn't enjoy it more
Thank you to Netgallery and the publisher for this ARC. The publication date is the 18th June. This book was brilliant with many exciting plot twists and many turns that kept me on the edge of my toes. Another cracking book by Kimberley Belle I’d highly recommend this book! 😊
Adam and Stella's European tour comes to an abrupt end when Adam is killed in an explosion at a cafe in Paris. Although Stella initially thinks it is a random event, it turns out that Adam may have been deliberately targeted.
The question is, who would do such a thing? And why? And even as Stella is pondering these questions, and the fact that her husband may have been keeping vital secrets from her, she realises that - given the nature of Adam's secrets - she may now find herself in the assassins crosshairs as the next target...
Kimberly Belle is always entertaining, and this story is no exception. Fast-paced and full of unexpected turns, it holds the reader's attention very effectively. Cleverly plotted and efficiently delivered, it gets 3.5 stars.
