The Night Nanny by Nelle Lamarr
It’s been a while since I’ve read a novel with such a twisted plot. This story was so intricately woven, with every aspect laid so perfectly.
The general plot—a new mother in a less-than-happy marriage suffering from a hard pregnancy and other complications only to have a savior of a night nurse—irritated me at first. It’s a trope that I don’t enjoy. But this took that so much farther and held so many twists I was not expecting.
The characters all had something to hide, and secrets are dangerous—even deadly. But the way this house of cards crumpled was beautifully done, and the elements used to bring it to a conclusion were delicious.

Ava meets Ned by falling right into his arms. They eventually end up marrying. He was so wrong for her and I was disgusted by how horrible he treated her.
Everyone is holding onto some sort of secrets throughout the story. The only person who is completely clueless of secrets (even though some secrets involved her) was Ava.
He only married her to get his hands on his inheritance money after their child turns 18.
Avas pregnancy was not an easy one.. enter nurse Marley. Their night nanny who has a bunch of revenge in her heart.
It was interesting seeing how all the characters were somehow intertwined together.
Even at the very very end.
Thank you netgalley for the opportunity to read this.

I was completely consumed by this thriller. The writing was so sharp and intense that I felt like I was right there with the characters. The ending was devastatingly good and totally unexpected.

It wasn’t bad! I did enjoy it but kind of predictable. It was an interesting storyline and it started off strong but it kind was lackluster towards the end.

Wow. What a team of unappealing characters. I caught myself getting so frustrated with every single person presented in this story but it was so gripping, I couldn't put it down!
Did fate bring a charming night nurse to Ava and Nate's doorstep, or was it something more sinister?
Marley is as manipulative as they come and you can't help but want to get rid of her yourself, but the twists never stop twisting and the action is packed in the last 20%.
If you need a quick, captivating read, pick up The Night Nanny from Nelle Lamarr!

I LOVED this book. Even when I had guesses on the twists, I didn't guess every single thing and that's something I love to see in thrillers. Oftentimes, I see everything coming. So, when I don't I love the swerves. Highly recommend this book!

I really enjoyed this thriller! Kept me hooked from chapter one. I thought I knew what was going to happen but was totally off. Well written story with a proper ending! I would recommend this to anyone who loves thrillers. Thank you Netgalley for this ARC.

First I want to thank NetGalley, Bookoutour and Nelle Lamarr for my ARC of The Night Nanny. I really enjoyed this book! The writing really kept my attention and drew me in and the character development was very well done! As a mom I felt I could relate to Ava as a lot of first time moms probably can. Gets a nanny to help her out and thinks it’s the absolute best thing. But when truths start coming out is she really the best thing? I couldn’t put this one down! This is my first book by Nelle but it won’t be my last.

“The night nanny” follows Ava, a new mother who is having difficulty caring for baby Isa after a problematic pregnancy and delivery in which she needs to recover from.
As fate would have it she meets a highly experienced night nurse over coffee and after a push from her not so helpful husband she decides to hire her as a night nanny.
I immediately got strange vibes from the night nanny, she seemed to know too much information about the family and during her first night of work she seemed to be controlling with baby Isa.
This is a psychological thriller so we watch Ava doubt her own mind and capabilities as she attempts to heal, her husband is an absolute waste of space who is incapable of showing any compassion towards his wife and is more focussed on checking out the nanny. The nanny herself is definitely harbouring a lot of secrets and has her own agenda going on. On top of that Ava’s sketchy alcoholic mother shows up and does nothing to help except for making judgey comments and observations.
The only likeable characters are Ava herself who is in my opinion way too generous and forgiving, and Isas god father Gabe who is the only person who seems to see Ava and Isas worth.
There are lots of twists and scenes that will make you want to throw your book at the wall out of frustration 🤣. This book is definitely WILD in terms of characters and drama, I will say I was very satisfied with the ending, I enjoyed the last show down which was themed within atmospheric tornado weather. I also enjoyed the epilogue and couldn’t help but chuckle at the police report.
I first came onto Nelle Lamarrs books after Freida McFadden personally recommended “the family guest” which I thoroughly enjoyed, so I was very excited to see this new release and snatch it up ahead of publication!
An easy to read, fast paced plot that will leave you in suspense!
Thank you to the author, Bookouture and Netgalley for the EARC!

I loved this book! It kept me interested from the first few chapters. I also liked the twists which I did not see coming! I loved the story and the characters. The author delivered this very well and it was a great thriller. I would recommend this book to others!

The Night Nanny" by Nelle Lamarr is a gripping and emotionally charged read that explores the complexities of motherhood, trust, and personal transformation. The novel introduces us to a compelling protagonist whose journey through a challenging period in her life is both relatable and thought-provoking.
Lamarr's writing shines with its evocative descriptions and deep character development. The night nanny, a character who plays a pivotal role, is portrayed with nuance and depth, making her more than just a supporting figure in the story. The plot is engaging, with twists and turns that keep readers invested from start to finish.
While the book excels in its emotional depth and character exploration, it occasionally leans heavily on melodrama, which may not resonate with all readers. Additionally, some plot developments feel a bit predictable, slightly detracting from the overall impact.
Overall, "The Night Nanny" is a strong and engaging novel that offers an insightful look into the struggles and triumphs of its characters. It is a recommended read for those who appreciate character-driven narratives with emotional depth.

Thank you for an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
Wow Liked this book a lot . There were parts of the book that were a tad confusing but overall I enjoyed the book. I really loved the main female character and I felt really sorry for her that she had a hard time adjusting to motherhood. I also felt really sorry for the nanny too in parts but in other parts wanted to smack her. I hated with a passion the lead male character. I felt like he caused all the problems in the entire book.
I can't wait to read more by this author.

This book moves at a very fast pace. This book was fantastic and it was so much more than I expected. The writing is phenomenal and I couldnt put it down.

I feel like i keep reading and posting about books with new moms and babies 😂.
At first, I wasn't sure I would like this. I kept having so much anxiety for the main character, and I didn't think I could finish. I'm so glad I did. I thought it was going to be super predictable, but that twist got me! I love books like this!
Obviously, I really related to the FMC. However, the nanny was a red flag from the start. It was interesting that certain things were so predictable, but other things weren't. I also really liked that the book kept me on edge from the beginning.
I would definitely recommend this book!

Thank you to Nelle Lamarr and Bookouture for The Night Nanny! This is my second book that I have read by her, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Ava is a new mom who needs help with her baby, Isa. Her and her husband, Ned, hire Marley as a night nanny. At first, they think she is a godsend. After getting know Marley, Ava learns she is very private and wonders what kind of secrets she could be hiding. When the truth starts to come out, is Marley really a godsend?! The twists and turns will make you want to keep reading page after page! I would recommend if you like multiple POVs, family secrets, psychological thrillers, and suspense thrillers! I cannot wait to read her next book! ❤️❤️❤️

I received an ARC copy of this book and am leaving a review of my own free will.
This is a story I've read hundreds of times before. It's formulaic but I guess there's something to be said about giving your audience what they want.
Evil nanny with hidden agenda joins the family. The tired mom is too dumb or dazed to see what's right in front of her face. To the point she doesn't even suspect the nanny when valuables go missing. She also happens to be married to an uncaring, dismissive man who she had major doubts about before she walked down the aisle. Why she went through the wedding is anyone's guess particularly when she had a better specimen professing his love from the sidelines.
She does redeem herself in the end which makes me think maybe her behaviour was indeed the result of post partum. I liked how she grows a spine and stands up for herself. However the big reveal about her background didn't come as a big shock to me. Especially after her mother was painted as a cartoon villain who didn't even care about her own grandkid.
The nanny's agenda makes no sense to me. Why in the world would she want to steal the baby who as far as she knows is the bio child of someone she hates? While at the same time she hates our MC because she's the bio child of someone else the nanny hates? It doesn't make sense.
Despite these flaws, I'm sticking with my 4 rating as I was entertained by this book at least in the second half. I also enjoyed the twist at the very end with the new nanny. Nicely done.

This was ok. The actual story I enjoyed. But I’m learning I can’t handle the stress that comes with babies/kids potentially in danger in books. It gives me legit heart-pounding anxiety, not the fun edge of my seat anticipation that comes with other thrillers. That said this had some good, while far fetched, convenient twists.

A new author for me but one I will definitely look out for. I loved this book. Twists galore and just when you think you know where the story is heading........ another twists. This is a book that I will definitely recommend.
Many thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in return for an honest review

My first book by this author and I loved every bit of it. It grabbed me right from the start and kept me turning the pages. Lots of suspense, twists and turns which had me hooked and I can't wait to read more by this author. Highly recommend.
