Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this novel. I really wanted to as a woman in STEM who usually does enjoy titles like these. However, I felt the first half of the book was a bit stilted and hard to get through. The second half really picked up, and while I enjoyed a lot of it, the ending fell flat for me. The female main character's arc ended in a way that felt unsatisfying and concerning for me. I don't think it made a lot of sense that her "growth" had to come from her allowing a super humiliating moment (that was ultimately unnecessary), potentially detrimental to her career/mental health/self-esteem/work-life, to happen as proof of her character growth. I think these awesome career-oriented FMC's can learn to let themselves relax and be authentically themselves with another person, who they also learn to love and trust, without something as traumatic as what happened to this FMC, that was again, entirely unnecessary/preventable and felt out of character to her.

I've read some adorable romcoms by Camille in the past, but unfortunately, this one didn't hit the mark for me. There were definitely some funny parts, and I loved her robot. The robot, K-2P, was definitely a source of many of the most fun parts of the story, but the romance side was lacking. Thomas and Reese felt like purely a physical connection with little substance.

I did appreciate the opposites attract element and there were moments where you could see them helping the other grow. Thomas is used to being 'the face' of Mercer Robotics, but Reese helps him understand his potential and his intellect. Thomas pushes Reese to open herself up to others. I just wish there was more of this kind of depth between the characters as their relationship progressed instead of it feeling like mostly physical chemistry.

Camilla Isley has easily become one of my favorite authors and her lovely STEM forward romance books are some of my favorite easiest reads that I come by! I enjoy the woman forward independent stance that most of her books take, and that we don't need to be 'rescued' by men necessarily and can be independent, strong, and successful! I love how caring Thomas is to Reese, and their cutesy note passing! I enjoyed that there was a little bit of time that happened during the book, but wish we got to see more in the evolving of their relationship! However, the most important part of the relationship is the buildup. Also, honorable mention to Reese's robot because he stole every scene he was in!

This book was a light, easy read with a sweet and slow-burn romance at its core. While the chemistry between Thomas and Reese was enjoyable, I felt that their relationship developed a bit too quickly for my taste. The “enemies-to-lovers” label didn’t quite fit, as the conflict between them was mild and resolved without much tension. The pacing was decent, though the ending felt slightly rushed.

The highlight for me was the droid character, who added a charming touch to the story. Overall, it’s a low-commitment, pleasant read, but it didn’t leave me eager to continue with the rest of the series.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

This book was kind of a no-brainer for me because Reese is a STEM girl. I really enjoyed it, but I struggled to connect with both main characters at times. I liked Reese, though I found her to be a bit awkward at times. Thomas, truth be told, annoyed me at first. I didn’t find him charming. He winked far too much for my liking. In fact, their whole workplace situation made me uneasy. The power dynamics were already in place. Even though he wasn’t her direct superior, he may as well as been given it was his family’s company. He pushed too much. She told him point blank that his flirting made her uncomfortable and he said he’d back off but was still flirting in the same conversation. I found it a tiny bit creepy that he followed her to Rome. Again, I think it was the power dynamic there. Despite Reese outwardly shutting down Thomas’s advances, her inner monologue was all for it. That said, the notes were super cute, and Thomas showed some great growth by the end. The sex tape threw me for a loop. I could only see it from Reese’s point of view and what it might cost her. Thankfully, it worked out well. I couldn’t end my review without mentioning K-2P, the sassy droid, who lent lots of humour to the story. I also loved the Star Wars Puns. Overall, a fun, closed-door romance.

Thank you to NetGalley, Boldwood Books and Camilla Isley for an advanced reader copy (eARC) in exchange for an honest review.

This book was unexpectedly wonderful. Reece was a joy to get to know, smart, funny, driven and relatable. It was fantastic to read a plot centred around a women in that sort of industry and of course who couldn’t love the droid. My only gripe is I wish the book hadn’t ended so soon.

The love algorithm was a cute read! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc. If you like a women in stem meets billionaire romance, you’ll like this! The best character by far was the robot, though. Loved him!

It was a little insta-lovey, and I do think there could’ve been more depth/pining/character development, but if you want an easy and cute read, you’ll enjoy it!

Easily my favourite character of this book was KP2, who is technically a robot. A rather intelligent robot that comes across as almost human and my inner geek was thinking I would absolutely love my own droid to keep me company.

But since that sounds like an expensive dream I probably should mention that I absolutely loved the human main characters too, and was even happier when I realised this was in a series of sorts with two of Camilla Isley's previous books and thus was able to catch up with old friends of characters too.

I love this author's STEM romances and this was absolutely no exception. I didn't understand half the tech involved, but it sounded really cool and the sort of stuff that I would absolutely love seeing in real life if I didn't have to understand it!

Oh and Reese is a great leading lady too, she is very career focussed and is like a robotics genius, but has been hurt romantically in the past and isn't sure she trusts her feelings towards Thomas, who she is being expected to babysit, into the role, and that he will ultimately become her head of department.

Meanwhile Thomas is gorgeous, son of a Billionaire, and has never done a proper days work in his life, but he is stunning and seems genuinely interested in the work that the Mercer Robotics lab is doing. And he definitely has a memorable meet cute with Reese and then it is clear there is some rather hot chemistry sizzling away between them, while they try to do ignore it.

I loved the little notes, and the big romantic gesture left me with a giant grin on my face. This is just the sort of book that this author does best, and I loved every word of it. Definitely my sort of book!

Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

For lovers of Abby Jiminez, and Ali Hazelwood, "The Love Algorithm" follows billionaire Thomas and robotics whiz Reese on their tumultuous relationship that goes from working relationship to office sex tape (well sort of).

I absolutely adored The Love Algorithm! This light-hearted, fun story had me hooked from the start. Thomas Mercer, the future CEO of his family's firm, dives into the robotics department to learn the ropes, where he meets the brilliant Dr. Reese Campbell. Reese and Thomas come from different worlds—she's a smart, adorable robotics genius, while he's a charming and loyal leader. Their initial misunderstandings evolve into a delightful companionship and undeniable attraction. Camilla Isley’s slow-burn romance is wonderfully written, full of wit, charm, and sparkling chemistry. It put me in a great mood! This book was laugh out loud funny and 100% swoon worthy. I loved every bit of it! Highly recommend!

This book is #3 in a series, and pulls characters from the other 2 previous books similar to how Abby Jiminez does her character/world building, which I loved!

I absolutely adored this book and loved the characters and the storyline! I will admit some of the tech jargon went straight over my head but i loved it all the same. The highlight of the book however was definitely the AI robot - a brilliant romcom

I had to admit that this book had me from the start. The characters were just amazing, and I loved Reese from the bottom of my heart (sorry Thomas, get out of the way). She just seemed fierce and fearless almost. She is also smart on top of it all, has a bit of sass to her so it was really easy for me to fall for her. Thomas as well as he was really nice character. I was especially proud of him in the end.

If we talk about the tension between those two, oh boy.. I thought that they would never act on their feelings but a trip to work conference in Rome helped it all. Add to it a bit of jealousy, just enough to make Thomas work harder for Reese. In the end, this is a cute romance, and it had some of my favourite tropes in it; office romance, he falls first and harder, billionaire romance.

This book was a nice refresh of my palette, and I could not put it down for 2 days in a row. I have to admit, I was sneaking reading during my work, but I don’t even regret it. I just had to know how it goes. Camilla truly did not disappoint with this book. If you are in a search for a cute office romance, with smart female lead, look no further. Camilla is here to deliver with her book.

Rating 4.5/5

I always know I can delve into a Camilla Isley book for fun and entertainment and The Love Algorithm is no exception. This one is a quick and easy workplace romance which means it has a slight hint of forbidden romance, a lot of longing and of course a well-timed overseas conference in a romantic city, all the right ingredients for a fun read.

I loved that our main character Reese is super smart and driven, but also not afraid to show her personality in a pretty corporate place. I was so glad that Reese didn’t have to lessen herself around Thomas, he isn’t intimidated by her and is impressed by her brilliance.

The chemistry between them is apparent immediately, even if Reese is too stubborn to admit it, and it is a lot of fun watching them skirt around each other as they pretend to everyone, including themselves, that there is nothing between them. I liked that Thomas was eager to impress as soon as they met and that he was the one who showed his feelings first, it makes a nice change that he was second-guessing whether she might feel the same and what to do about it.

There is, of course, a little conflict along the way but it was nice that it was mostly work-based, and not because of other people coming between them. I also loved how these conflicts resolved themselves, we all need a Thomas is all I’m saying.

A special mention must also be made for K-2P, the sassy robot, who stole the show on many occasions.

I picked The Love Algorithm up not realising it is the third book in the True Love series and I don’t feel like I had to know much about the other books to enjoy this one, but I am now planning on going back to the start and reading the other books too because I know they’ll be just as fun.

Working as head of R&D at Mercer Robotics at only 28, Reese has the job she dreamed of and her own personal project, a sassy robot as sidekick. After meeting with company CEO, she has now gained a babysitting project to train the CEO's MBA son to grasp the projects well enough to lead the division in less than two years. His first stop will be with her group. This was an entertaining and fast read. Both her character and the boss's son are definitely engaging, but the true star is the robot. And I will circle back to read the first two books in this series.

The Love Algorithm is a STEM romance that is fast and great to read. I enjoy it but not as much as I would like because it was an instalove story and I'm not a very big fan of these. Still, it was a great book with amazing writing and plot.

This is the third book of the delightful True Love series. I enjoyed the first two books and this latest installment also did not disappoint! Reese has been busy focusing on her career and is pretty happy with how things have turned out. Then her boss asked her to virtually babysit his son while he spends time in the lab she works at, and she is dismayed that all her hard work has come to this. However, when said son appears, she is stunned by how handsome he is and realizes he is out of her league when she finds out he will be taking over the company one day. Thomas is set to be CEO of the family robotics company, but he has to prove his capabilities to his father first, and starts with the department Reese works in. As they begin to work alongside each other the tension is palpable and the chemistry undeniable. Reese and Thomas came from different worlds, not knowing much about each other's jobs or livelihoods, but soon realized they had more in common than they thought.
A fun, fresh, and flirty read! I enjoyed the woman in STEM aspect of the story as well, I think that was one of the most appealing aspects of the story for me since women are so underrepresented in that area. The plot was cute and engaging and held my interest all the way through. I also enjoyed the playfulness and the witty banter between them. A very fun and lighthearted read!
I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I probably say this every time I finish a Camilla Isley book but I really mean it this time 😅 This is my new favourite of hers. Thomas is forced to train up with the robotics department of his dad’s multibillion business in order to become its CEO. Reese, who runs the department, is not happy to babysit him. She wants to hate him for being unqualified for the role but can’t help but develop feelings for him instead.

This is achingly sweet, such a lovely romance between two people that are complete opposites but exactly what each other needs. That being said - why is K-2P the best character in this? 😭 He’s so adorable. This is the finale this amazing book series needed - witty, addictive and so romantic 🥰 With an epilogue that you can’t help but smile the whole way through.

What to expect:

- workplace romance
- opposites attract
- he falls first
- love notes
- forbidden romance
- closed door but still 🔥

Fun, light-hearted, and comfortable to read but not really containing anything that would compel me to read the rest of the series.
There was so much about the concept I loved, the droid KP2 honestly was the best part and I was sad there wasn’t more of him!
I liked the character of Reese a lot. I loved the premise of her being a brilliant, young female manager of a major robotics department and who had crafted her own team. Thomas was not a very interesting character and the last third of the book felt very rushed.

The Love Algorithm is the latest romantic comedy novel from author Camilla Isley. This is the third instalment of her True Love Series and although it was my first time reading anything from the author I was instantly hooked by her engaging writing style. Fans of enemies to lovers, forced proximity and workplace romances this is the book for you! Add in a woman in STEM protagonist, only one bed, lots of geeky references and a witty robot and you have The Love Algorithm.

Our story is told through a perfectly-paced dual POV narrative which worked really well as we got to experience the yearning from both Reese and Thomas’ perspectives. Thomas falls first and harder in the story and this was wonderful to read. Although this is part of a series, and features characters introduced in earlier books, it works well as a standalone too.

Reese was a fantastic FMC. She was so intelligent – we love to see a woman in STEM! – and feisty. I also loved Thomas as a MMC. He was so respectful and charming and the flirting through handwritten notes hidden around Reese’s office was EVERYTHING. I will say though that I did roll my eyes towards the end of the book when his response to being called a man child was to throw a tantrum, aka the most man child thing to do, but I’ll forgive him for being so dreamy for the rest of the book.

Reese and Thomas had electric chemistry from their first meeting. The sexual tension between the two of them was very well written, especially in the hotel scenes. They had brilliant banter (the Star Wars jokes had me giggling throughout!) and I was rooting for them from the beginning. I will say though that given how significant the sex tape was to the plot I would have liked to have seen a bit of spice, rather than it being closed-door but that’s just personal preference.

As much as I loved Reese and Thomas though, it was Reese’s robot K-2P who was my favourite character and he played a great role in their matchmaking. Reese’s colleagues at Mercer Robotics were brilliant supporting characters, as were Thomas’ family who I look forward to reading more about in the other books in the series.

Overall, The Love Algorithm is perfect if you’re after an easy feel-good romance which is packed full of your favourite tropes and lots of geeky elements.

3.5 STARS. I love a STEM romance so this was a great read for me. I'm not a huge fan of instalove so that is a big reason for it not being a higher rating.
