This book was really cute and nerdy. I liked how they set up the story, especially the part where they both end up sharing a bed, which was fun. Unlike a lot of romance books that focus too much on sexy scenes, this one kept things more low-key and focused on the characters' chemistry, especially Thomas who was charming and funny.

I got really into the story and couldn't stop reading. Thomas was such a great character, even better than in the previous book. However, I didn't connect with Reese as much. I also found the droid in the story a bit distracting, as it sometimes made things too easy for the characters by giving away information.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and would like to read more from this author. Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for letting me read it early. These are just my own thoughts about the book.

This was such a cute feelings at first sight coworkers to lovers. Reese and Thomas have a heck of a meet cute when he joins her robotics division of his family business to shadow her for a few months in preparation for a CEO nomination.

I've been looking forward to Thomas's story since the first book in the series, and he is one heck of a swoon worthy MMC 🥰🫠😍🫠🥰 his pursuit of Reese was just so wholesome, I cannot. The book handled the precariousness of a work place romance realistically, which I feel like doesn't always happen. The Droid that Reese had built completely stole the show, and was totally team Thomas from the get go 🤣

As someone who hasn't seen the movies, there was a bit too many star wars references for my liking (as in I didn't get any of them 🤣), but all in all, this was such a fun, heart warming read, perfect for spring time!

Thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC in exchange for my review!

The Love Algorithm is #3 in the True Love series by Camilla Isley. I have not read the first two. But thoroughly enjoyed this book on its own.

Reese is the head of the Research and Development at Mercer Robotics. She enjoys her team and job. Reese is tasked with training the CEO's son in all things about her department. They get off to an interesting start thanks to Reese's droid, K-2P.

This a lighthearted, easy read. I plan to go back and read the first two in the series.

Fans of Ali Hazelwood, this is the book for you. I'm always a sucker for a good STEM romance and this did not disappoint! Dr. Reese is a 28-year-old genius with a Ph.D., and is the head of research and development at Mercer Robotics. Her job is her life and something she loves so much, until she's told she will now be mentoring and babysitting Thomas Mercer, the heir to the company, who knows next to nothing about the company or what Reese does, and nor does he really care... or so it seems. I love Reese because she is so independent and loves science and does not make herself smaller in the presence of men in a male dominated field of science, or around hot men. She holds her own, and she is brilliant and it's obvious how much she loves what she does. Thomas is a sweetheart and as it turns out, he actually cares more than people think and wants the best. I also loved the droid, K-2P! This robot was the perfect addition and was hilarious throughout the book. This is the book for you if you love STEM, forced proximity, billionaire, one bed, slow burn and a rom com that will have you smiling and kicking your feet.

Thank you to NetGalley, Camilla Isley, and Boldwood Books for the eARC of this book.

I LOVED this book, it was full of tension throughout!

The chemistry from the beginning was immense and I was rooting for them to get together.

I haven't read many books where its a female nerd and a male billionnaire charmer and I enjoyed the change.

I also liked seeing it from a dual perspective, it always helps get the bigger picture of what is happening. I love the office romance and the post it element was soo cute!

Such a good, easy to read book, I read it in two sittings!

Thank you netgalley and boldwoodbooks for this arc!

Love a good workplace forbidden love trope!

Super smart robotics genius Reese is force to "babysit" the big boss's son as he makes the rounds through her department to learn all aspects of the business. Opposites attract, and of course the sparks fly. There's the typical back and forth with the added bonus of a super-charming and droll droid as a secondary character (I want my own K-2P!).

This was a cute read although I felt like Thomas at times, as the robotics language went right over my head!

I was excited to receive an ARC of this book and it was so cute! I LOVED the chemistry between Reece and Thomas and I ADORED K-2P. I also thought the sticky notes were so cute and I’d die if someone did that with me, especially the last scene! I thought this was such a fun take on STEM romance, especially being in the world of robotics. I thought that Reece was such a relatable character with her brains and beauty but also her self doubt mixed with confidence and her hesitations about being a woman in the world of STEM and management. Then Thomas was adorably nerdy in his own way in a super hot shell! The two of them made fireworks and I adored reading their story, plus the quirky cast of friends and family. Plus, I loved the route Thomas chose at the end—such a creative idea! A very sweet romance!

This was a fun and quick read. I have read a few books by this author and I enjoyed those ones as well. This book for me was a little bit far far fetched in some of the details and I had trouble taking it seriously as a result. Specifically, the details that the main character has a droid (think star wars) that she created and interacts with regularly. That just felt silly to me otherwise, it was a typical workplace romance with a touch of academia since the main character is a robotics engineer. I will read more books by this author in the future.

“Yeah, yeah, you’re quite the charmer.” Tilt of the head. “You don’t look too charmed.”“I find your bubbly personality irking.”“I find your constant scowls cute.”

This was such a cute, lighthearted and easy read! I loved Reese and her strong, smart and independent personality. She was very much like me so I could relate with her the most. Thomas was exactly the right fit for her because he was her complete opposite and that's what she needed in her life. I loved how he left her those swoony little notes, that part was adorable! Also, I liked the fact that due to their situation at the workplace, there was no unnecessary drama or a third act breakup because I was definitely expecting it but I was so glad when nothing of that sort happened. I really liked the chemistry between Thomas & Reese, the way they knew that they were attracted to each other and didn't waste time in denying it was great. But still I felt like the book was short and the ending was kind of abrupt. Otherwise, it would've definitely been a five star read for me.

Camilla Isley weaves a delightful workplace romantic comedy that will leave readers both chuckling and swooning. Reese, a brilliant woman with a Ph.D., has dedicated herself to her career at Mercer Robotics. Her life revolves around research and development, and she’s content with her team—even if personal relationships are scarce. sparkling with wit, the banter between Reese and Thomas is electric. The Love Algorithm is a delightful escape—a perfect blend of humor, heart, and billionaire intrigue.

Let me start off by saying, thank the bookish heavens for that free e-arc from NetGalley and Boldwoodbooks for an honest review, because diving into Camilla Isley's latest creation was an absolute blast!

Dr. Reese, a 28-year-old genius with a Ph.D., ruling the roost as Head of R&D at Mercer Robotics. Life's good until she's handed the task of mentoring/baby-sitting Thomas Mercer, the heir to the company, who's about as clueless about robotics as a fish is about flying.

I enjoyed Reese's character, her independence and self-assurance was refreshing. She didnt fall into the trap of diminishing herself just because there's a hot guy in the picture. Plus, can we talk about how refreshing it was to see a romance novel actually stick to its robotics theme? No sideline romance stealing the limelight here—just pure, unadulterated science geekiness!

And Thomas? Oh, Thomas! He's not just a pretty face, he's an absolute sweetheart. Sure, they go on and on about his looks, but to me, he was all heart! A perfect blend of nice guy and dreamboat. A great son, a great brother and a great partner!

Now, let's give a round of applause to K2P, the mischievous little robot with a heart of gold. Seriously, who wouldn't want a robo-bestie like him? His antics, especially those picked up from Reese, were adorable. Like come on, an annoyed condescending bot? Who wouldn't love that!

But, alas, every rose has its thorn, and in this case, it's the slow-burn romance. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a good ol' slow sizzle, but in a short book like this, how long can one really wait? Their relationship felt a tad too easy, with K2P conveniently playing cupid by spilling all of Reese's secrets to Thomas. I craved a bit more spark, a dash of fire to ignite their romance.

But hey, despite that tiny hiccup, this book was an absolute joyride. It's a pick-me-up that leaves you grinning from ear to ear, especially after trudging through a pile of depressing reads.

This was a really sweet closed door romance. Definite slow burn but I felt like nothing was missing without the smut, the story felt whole without it and I enjoyed it nonetheless

I thought this book was cute! Is it the best romance I’ve ever read? No! But it wasn’t horrible. I appreciate when an author can write a series sequel without the reader having to read the previous books for complete understanding of what’s going on, and Isley did just that. There were some inside jokes I probably didn’t catch on, but honestly who cares… can’t be bothered to read the first two to be honest.
I thought the pace of this novel was ok, but it felt significantly rushed and inadequately explained in many places. How do they go from meeting to somewhat flirting to ‘love you’s in such a short period of time? And why did it take her so fucking long to open the drawer?? I screamed every time she didn’t like!!!! Girlie hello????
This isn’t a must read for everyone, only if you like romance novel, especially for my STEM girlies. I’m trying to not be harsh with the rating so I’m giving it a 3 stars.

I couldn't stop smiling. A forced proximity, forbidden romance, with a snarky droid… how could you ask for more. I was in love with this book immediately and it just got better and better. Strong stem female main character and a charming male main character who only wants to build her up. So refreshing and fun to read. I cannot recommend this book enough!

The Love Algorithm was such a cute and witty romance read! I absolutely loved the tension between Reece and Thomas, and how they just could not keep their eyes off of each other. Reece was the more logistical one in the romance, while Thomas brought out the emotions. And the slow burn?! Absolutely worth it. I very much enjoyed this workplace romance (especially the hint of the one bed trope). Thank you so much netgalley for the chance to read and review!

The Love Algorithm by Camilla Isley 🤖
Overall Rating: 3/5 ⭐
Publishing Date: April 26 2024

I thought this was a cute book! It wasn’t personally my favourite, but it had some nice themes and scenes in it.

I found it a bit boring in places which is why I didn't rate it any higher. The beginning hooked me pretty quickly but as I read more, it lost me more. I liked the characters, especially K-2P who brought some great humour to the book.

I think I would read other books by this author though and overall I would recommend it to anyone looking for a cute workplace romance.

Just finished "The Love Algorithm" and I have to say, I can't recall the last time I laughed so hard while reading a romcom.

I really loved the portrayal of women in STEM in this book. Reese was a great main character, smart, strong, and determined, and Thomas was so kind and funny, the sweetest golden retriever.

But what really stole the show for me was the sassy robot. With his perfect blend of humor and heart, he added an extra layer of fun to the story. He and the Star Wars puns were it for me in this book.

However, one character, Maria, grated on my nerves a bit. Her incessant chatter and inappropriate behavior were a bit overbearing at times, and I couldn't help but wish she toned it down a notch. Other than that, I don't have anything else to object.

On another note, I was intrigued by Thomas's mom's Spanish heritage and would've loved to delve deeper into that aspect of his life.

Overall, "The Love Algorithm" was a delightful, quick read that left me thoroughly entertained. I'm really looking forward to checking out more works by this author.

3.5 stars

This was a really sweet and easy read. The characters were fun and engaging, although I do wish there was a bit more development - in particular Thomas with his family and Reese with her family/work relationship history. I think this would have given a better indication of their behaviours at times.

I liked the inclusion of K-2P as it was a nice alternative to a side/supporting character. I also enjoyed that the female protagonists intelligence was celebrated.

I think the pace was a bit slow for me in the first half of the novel. I also think that the character of Garrett was given an easy pass considering some of his behaviours.

Overall a good workplace romance with a female MC working in STEM.

So I went into this having never read anything by Camilla before, I wouldn’t usually start a new author with the 3rd book in a series but thankfully in this case it didn’t matter that I hadn’t read the first 2, will I be going back to read them though? Hell yeah! This was a super sweet, funny and romantic read that did not rely heavily of spice like some contemporary romance books do…..these are usually my go to but I didn’t feel like the lack of smut in this one impacted on my ability to really enjoy the story so that was a nice surprise for me.

Reese and Thomas together were just *chef’s kiss*, I absolutely adored them!! The chemistry between them was off the charts and I’m just so pleased they got their HEA. Now just to go back and read the first 2 books in the series ready for whatever is to come next.
