The Love Algorithm is the third book in the True Love series. Last year I read Not In A Billion Years which was the first in the series but also my first ever Camilla Isley read. That story focused on billionaire Gabriel Mercer and I was so excited about the prospect of getting a book about his brother Thomas.

Thomas Mercer works at the family business and is advised by his father that he will be going to work in the robotics department where Research and Development is led by Reese. Reese, who is 28 with a PhD is understandably upset by the fact that Thomas is being handed this role with no prior knowledge or qualifications. She sees it as nepotism at its finest.

Of course these two hit it off and it is just the loveliest story. I know when I'm in a reading slump, Isley's books are easy reading palate cleansers and I just flew through this. I am not massively into science but you can tell that Isley knows her stuff and I questioned nothing. I loved the strong and clever female love interest and the very respectful character of Thomas.

I also loved Reese and Thomas's banter and if you're looking for an only one bed, billionaire, workplace romance with Star Wars puns, this is for you!

Thomas Mercer is the heir apparent to his family's company, but to earn his father's approval, he needs to get a better understanding of every department. He starts by working in the robotics division with Dr. Reese Campbell. I found Reese and Thomas to be an amazing pair. They come from different backgrounds: she's an intelligent and quirky robotics expert, while he's a sociable and dedicated individual. Despite not knowing much about each other's lives or work, they quickly discover they have great chemistry and a strong connection. I was cheering for them from the start, as their journey together was entertaining, and their chemistry was palpable from their very first meeting.

Super fun and cute! Loved the main characters and their dynamic- especially the meet cute. It was giving Ali Hazelwood vibes with the super smart heroine.

I adored this book. It was such a sweet, enemies-to lovers, slow burn romance. I loved Reese. She was relatable. And Thomas was soooo swoon-worthy.

I have read every single Camilla Isley book and she is a 100% auto buy author. If you’re looking for a delightful, heartwarming romcom, full of chemistry, humour and workplace romance, The Love Algorithm is the perfect read. I find Camilla’s writing just draws you in from the very first sentence, every book of hers I've read I've not want to put down - highly recommend

"The Love Algorithm" is the sweet love story between Reese and Thomas. Reese is a 28-year-old, highly intellectual and accomplished woman. She already has her PhD and gets to lead a team at Mercer Robotics, her dream job. Thomas is the son of the current CEO of Mercer Robotics. Thomas's father wants to groom Thomas to take over the company as the new CEO and has asked Thomas to partner with every department to learn everything about the company, starting with Reese.
This was such a sweet love story. Both characters were very respectful of one another, and both truly wanted the other to be successful. There is mild smut in this book, and it reads more like a really great, warm hug.
When Thomas meets Reese for the first time, he knows he wants to do something about his attraction. He mildly flirts with her, but he does not make any moves until he knows where her head is at and that she is okay with taking their relationship to the next level. It was really sweet to read a romance in which the man falls first, and one that the man remains a golden retriever throughout the entire story.
Reese was a strong protagonist. She is incredibly driven and knows exactly what she wants from her career, which was inspiring to see. She had a difficult relationship in the past, and although it did influence her to not fall in love again quickly, she did not allow it to make her so jaded that she was completely turned off from love forever.
Thomas and Reese together really bring out the best in each other. They each bring strong characteristics to the table and the complement one another superbly.
This is a pretty fast-paced romance, and something that was easy to quickly read and enjoy. I was pretty invested from the beginning and had a difficult time putting it down because I just wanted more of Thomas and Reese. The sweet romance and the intellectual characters definitely remind me of Ali Hazelwood.
I highly recommend this book, and I will definitely be reading more from Camilla Isley in the future.

3.5 stars - I loved the start, the droid banter scenes were excellent, as was the post-it note wooing between FMC and MMC, but the second half really fell flat for me and felt underdeveloped.

Camilla Isley writes women in STEM so well, and she does it again. I enjoyed getting to know Reese and the things she stood for and represented. Her chemistry with Thomas was good, although I probably like her connection with K-2P more haha.
 
I’m not a fan of workplace romance and billionaire playboy MMC books, but I still gave this one a shot because I was curious about Thomas and because Isley is one of the authors that gets an automatic read from me.
 
This is a cute reverse grumpy-sunshine, insta-love, dual POV with HEA.

As a fan of workplace romantic comedies, "The Love Algorithm" by Camilla Isley had me laughing out loud and rooting for the characters from start to finish.

Reese, the head of Research and Development at Mercer Robotics, is a relatable protagonist with her dedication to her career and her skepticism toward personal relationships. When she's unexpectedly tasked with looking after the CEO's son, Thomas, she's understandably wary. But as they spend more time together, Reese finds herself drawn to Thomas's charm and intelligence, despite the complications his status brings.

Isley's writing is witty and engaging, with plenty of humor sprinkled throughout the story. The dynamic between Reese and Thomas is electric, and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop from reluctant colleagues to something more.

While the premise may seem like a familiar trope, Isley puts her own spin on it, adding depth to the characters and exploring themes of ambition, trust, and finding love in unexpected places. The pacing is spot-on, keeping the story moving at a brisk pace while allowing for moments of genuine emotion and reflection.

Overall, "The Love Algorithm" is a delightful romantic comedy that delivers on laughs, heart, and chemistry. Fans of the genre will find plenty to love in this charming tale of workplace romance.

I loved the banter between the two and what a first meeting lol the spice was just right for me and I can’t wait to own a copy!

Reese has been putting her career first and it looks like her work is being recognised, but when she is called into the boss's with an assignment to look after his son, she isn’t impressed.

But when she meets Thomas, it won’t be long before the forced proximity will have her feeling very differently towards him.

I have always enjoyed reading this author and this novel was no different. Isley gives us great characters, including a robot, K-2P, which had to be my favourite.

This novel had a great narrative between the two main characters, Reese and Thomas, and I loved the chemistry between them from the start.
This was a fast-paced read that I couldn’t put down, and another by this author I would highly recommend.

“The love algorithm” is a very intriguing romance book by Camilla Isley. I personally loved the storyline and the romance between Thomas and Reese. The only thing that I would have changed is probably their first interaction as it was super painful to read. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes romance books and doesn’t mind cringe first interactions.

Think I’m a bit of a sucker for women in STEM stories. I’m not a STEM woman. But I do wish I was smart enough to be. Maybe that’s why…

Reese and Thomas are so damn cute together! Thomas is like a little puppy that you just want to cuddle all day.
And K-2P is so sassy I love him!

Fave part - one bed trope. Always a winner
Worst part - third act break up…. Well, sort of. People weren’t talking for days, people assume other things. And Garrett was just a …. Few four letter words …. That I’m not sure why he has to be part of the story. But, it’s the authors story.

As I was reading and his Gabriel and Marissa were prominent in this one, I guessed there were two other books (or going to be) in this series. And oh I was right! I’m excited to pick up those and have a read of those stories too.

I have been working in high tech for ages and I met some people like Reese, sort of genius with lack of social skills. Reese is a sort of genius but she’s also a sort of work alcoholics and work is the only way to spend time that would be empty.
I appreciated the realistic description because you can meet these person: they prefer to code than to go to a restaurant.
There’s a lot of references to geek culture and there’s androids that takes the place of pets.
I noticed I didn’t talk about romance but there’s romance and I liked how Reese and Thomas went from enemy to lovers in a realistic way and she doesn’t end being the perfect Stepford Wifes.
Reese is a geek and a technologist to the bones and I like her (the form sysadmin and cloud architect speaking).
There’s a lot of humour, there’s a witty and acid android. It’s fast paced and compelling, I started it and read more than 30% in a few time as I was thoroughly enjoying it and having fun.
Loved it, highly recommended.

Thomas and Rees’ chemistry is electric, really enjoyed reading it

For the nerds amongst us this is for you. This is a light, funny and charming story. This follows the story of Thomas, who we first met in Not in a Billion Years.

It was interesting reading about how Thomas and Reese worked their way together to happily ever after. Their banter, chemistry and those Post-It notes added more details to this enjoyable story.

I particularly liked K-2P and the acknowledgment of women in STEM. His interactions and comments were hilarious and is one of the major highlights of the book.

It did seem like some of the scenarios appeared a bit over the top and far fetched. Fans of office romance, forced proximity, only one bed, STEM romance would love this.
