Another amazing book from Camilla Isley. Thomas and Reece are adorable and I love a good office romance. They were instantly infatuated with each other but couldn't do anything about it. Personally, I love the waiting. It gave them the time to properly fall in love with each other.
I received an arc through netgalley.

I was so interested in this story when I requested to read it - a STEM novel and I've read Isley before and knew I enjoyed her style.
However, I could not get into this. I felt it was boring and could not continue past 10%. It felt wordy and dragging.
I could not out this book down!
One thing I love is a workplace, cute nerdy romance and this ticked all those boxes.
At 28, Reese has worked hard, and given up a lot to get her career where she has it. And she doesn’t want Thomas, the billionaire son of the CEO doing anything that could jeopardise it. Even if he has smouldering eyes and leaves her cute blue post it notes to read.
Reese can’t let an office romance, especially with her boss, take away everything she’s worked for. But when she no longer can deny the crazy chemistry between them. What can she do?

So, I love a friends to lovers trope, especially one where we have side characters from a previous book! Literally my favourite thing! The Love Algorithm had a really great set up and I really enjoyed the fact that it wasn’t just saturated with smut… it was cute and funny and witty and just made me laugh and smile throughout!
Thank you Netgalley, Camilla Isley and Boldwood Books for this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. The Love Algorithm comes out on the 26th April and I would really recommend getting your hands on a copy!
A fun, workplace romance that will make you laugh and swoon. Reese has spent her whole life focused on her career, leaving her with no romantic interests or many friends. When she is asked to look after her boss's son as he learns the business, she is upset that her boss wants her to serve as his babysitter. Until she meets his son.
I enjoyed this one, while it was a super slow burn I loved the banter. The star of the show was Reece’s robot who was super witty and hilarious. A he falls first trope wherehe’s a billionaire. Reese has to train Thomas whose family owns Mercer robotics where she is head of her department. I liked the angst and sexual tension. The nod to women in stem reminded me a lot of Ali hazelwoods books. I found it to be slow and then all of a sudden pick up at the end and I think they knew each other for a month or two before he’s putting it all on the line for her. Just felt really rushed. It was cute though but didn’t sweep me off my feet.
The Love Algorithm is the first book I’ve read of this series. You do not need to read them in order.
I’ve really enjoyed just about every Camilla Isley book I’ve read. This was good too but probably my least favorite. Any part with Thomas bickering with his brother or K-2P are the best.
If you’ve liked any of Ali Hazelwood’s books this will be right up your alley!
the series just kept getting better after each one! it was a cute read that kept me interested from the beginning. The Love Algorithm was happy and funny, keeping me entertained throughout the book.
Reese and Thomas may have started out as enemies but they ended it in a completely different way. and K-2P was such a great character to meet and he kept the story alive.
*thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for giving me a chance to read this. opinions are all my own.
This is my favourite Camilla Isley novel so far! I must admit to spending a long time wondering just how hard the author had to research to get the technical talk in (or maybe she relied on it being read by people like me who’d have no idea if it was really clever or completely made up nonsense). What I liked about this is the equality between the characters. Usually, the female lead is always so disparaging about herself you cannot picture them as attractive in many ways so it was great to read about a strong female lead with self worth. And Thomas was finally a billionaire leading man without worrying that when he’d lost his looks all that would be left was a stroppy, misogynistic, slightly abusive man (admittedly I’ve just read another book where the male lead scared me because of the dream being sold). I’m looking forward to the next novel by this author.

This was a lovely little read, fast paced romance with non stop angst.
Loved the setting of the romance and the dynamic between them as well as the growth of the characters in themselves- there was a lot of growing up and overcoming personal fears!
The Love Algorithm is a standalone workplace romance by author, Camilla Isley. This author was new to me and I found her writing style easy to read, perfect for fans of Ali Hazelwood and similar.
Tropes include:
- Workplace romance
- Low spice
- Nerdy (Star Wars references)
- Angst
- One bed
- Robots!
Overall, I liked this fun, easy to read sweet romance featuring strong main characters who hold their own. I felt like it was a little science heavy and didn’t need this to understand the plot but made it stand out from other romance stories. I’ll be sure to check out this author again in the future.
“The Love Algorithm” by Camilla Isley is a delightful romantic comedy that combines humour, charm, and a touch of workplace drama. At 28, Reese has achieved significant success as the head of Research and Development at Mercer Robotics. Her dedication to her career has paid off, but her personal life is lacking. When she’s tasked with looking after the CEO’s son, Thomas, while he works in her lab, Reese is less than thrilled.
Thomas, a billionaire playboy with no engineering experience, presents a challenge for Reese. However, as they spend more time together, Reese finds herself drawn to Thomas’s charm and charisma. As their relationship develops, Reese must navigate the boundaries between work and romance, all while resisting Thomas’s undeniable allure.
This enemies-to-lovers workplace rom-com explores themes of ambition, love, and the challenges of balancing personal and professional life. Isley’s writing captivated me with its charm and plot, and I found myself thoroughly enjoying the interactions between Reese and Thomas.
One of the standout aspects of this novel is the character of Reese. As a strong, intelligent, and successful woman in a male-dominated field, she is a refreshing protagonist who is easy to root for. Thomas, while initially perceived as a typical arrogant billionaire, surprises with his genuine charm and respect for Reese. The witty banter, playful interactions, and Star Wars references add to the enjoyment of the story, creating a light-hearted atmosphere that keeps the pages turning. Additionally, the inclusion of the K-2P robot with AI, created by Reese, adds an extra layer of fun and entertainment to the narrative.
While some elements, such as the objectification of Thomas by Reese’s female colleagues, may not work for all readers, overall, “The Love Algorithm” is a fun and engaging read that I would recommend to fans of contemporary romance looking for a quick and enjoyable escape.

This is an easy to read fun STEM romance.
I enjoyed Reese She’s a strong, Smart FMC, with a robot named K-2p as her sidekick.
But the slow burn romance and the obvious sexual tension between Thomas and Reese made this a perfect story for a beach read.thank you @netgalley

Such a cute. The perfect end to the True Love trilogy.
Thomas and Reece are such fun characters to read about. K-2P adds a lot of humor as well. It was also fun to catch up on Gabriel and Blake and Marissa and John’s stories!!
Can be read as a stand alone book as well!
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood books for the advanced copy of this book. Review will be posted on Amazon and Goodreads on publishing day.
If you are a fan of Ali Hazelwood, you will love this book. The MFC is short of a genius and works in a tech field specializing in robotics. I loved how intelligent and confident she was in the workplace, balanced with her insecurities in her real life. She was never too "hard" despite her intelligence.
When the new boss (and family heir...hello nepotism) shows up, Reese is immediately playing with fire.
Thomas and Reese have a gravitational pull towards on another. This book is a slow burn, but so worth it.
I loved how Thomas pulls Reese out of her brain and loosens her up. Her best friend was a robot she created. Think Star Wars and make it sassy and sarcastic. I loved the banter between The characters and the robot.
Thomas shows Reese there is more to life and happiness than work. The question was if she could seize the happiness with Thomas while he became her boss. Their story evaluates how much either of them is willing to risk for the other.
Highly recommend if you enjoy women in STEM, workplace romance, and a slow burn worth the wait.

This book was the last one in a 3 books series, but it can be read as a stand-alone without any problems, the characters who make an appearance being explained.
I adored the setting, the big company and the robotic division. K-2P, the robot, was my favourite character in the book. He was really funny, and developed –and important for the story. I adored him.
I was a bit disappointed by the story between Thomas and Reese however. If the sexual attraction, and the resulting tension was truly well conducted, I didn’t sense any chemistry above that. I couldn’t find any feelings, just the physical appeal. That was increased by all the objectisation that happens in the first half of the book, especially regarding Thomas. For once, it’s a man who is targeted (which is a good point), but it made me uncomfortable anyway, as much as the fact that he pursues his seductive attempts despite what Reese told him at the beginning. Yes, he’s mostly respectful, but he nevertheless transgresses her boundaries. I LOVED the whole sticky-notes game, however (it was a kind of Proust Madeleine to me).
If you are looking for physical attraction, though, you probably will love the book (just know it’s a fade to back story), but it lacked a little something for me, even though I spent a good time while reading it.

Love me some Camilla Isley. This is not my first and won’t be my last. It’s got some definite Ali Hazelwood vibes and I’m here for it. I don’t always love the “insta love” trope but this was written very well. The characters felt real and I could feel their emotions through the pages. I could have kept reading if it was 200 pages longer and I love the fact it’s a closed door romance and I didn’t even miss the smut.
The Love Algorithm is a sweet romantic comedy following Reese Campbell, the head of Research and Development at Mercer Robotics. Reese is career driven and is an exceptionally young head of the department.
She gets called to the big bosses office one day and told to teach his son, Thomas Mercer, heir to the Mercer empire the ropes as he will be taking over as CEO. Reese sees this as a babysitting job and an inconvenience. As Reese and Thomas get to know each other, they find their attraction quickly growing. Reese won't risk her job to be with someone who will be her boss some day.
This story was a sweet and quick read. The character of Reese was so relateable. She was extremely smart, but was so awkward and shy when she was around someone she was attracted to. Her character was so career focused that she put aside a lot of personal relationships outside of K-2p her AI robot that she created completely on her own. K-2P was such a fun character as well. The sassiness and attitude that came from K-2P is everything I wanted from an AI robot sidekick. The bond that he and Thomas formed was so sweet. Thomas was such a charasmatic character. He was able to sweet talk everyone around him, but from the moment he meets Reese, he only had eyes for her.
The romance was sweet. The relationship was filled with tension as both characters were constantly pining for each other while trying to remain professional. I loved that Thomas was willing to give everything up to be with her. And Reese couldn't even fathom that someone would do that for her.
If you are looking for a sweet STEM world rom com, this book is for you!
Unfortunately this book was not for me. That being said, it’s not a bad book. It may be for you if you’re a fan of The Love Hypothesis for the quirky lead and science bits. This book would be an easy read to live in your bag. Something that you take out and read a bit here and there, but there wasn’t anything that really sucked me in and demanded my attention to keep going.
The storyline is fine and I could see the premise working well. My issue is with the characters. The FMC is awkward, and not in an endearing way. Her best friend is a robot that's creepily too smart and demanding?? I would have felt better if she monolgued to a cat. She also gets irrationally mad. Going from meek and docile to livid in moments. I guess my real issue with this book is that the FMC isn’t likeable. And I don't believe it’s written in a way that she’s intended to be unlikeable. She’s unfortunately both a lot and not much in the same package. Which is pretty impressive that the author was able to craft such a complexly simple lead. Somehow the droid get’s more airtime than the leading MMC. The character of a robot is better developed, showing more personality and range.
Well, this was adorable!
Business man/Billionaire + Science Nerd + a Robot
And it was a 🌶️🌶️ for spice.
I loved the MCs, they were easy going & their chemistry was fun.
I really liked this book. It kept me hooked, had romance/spice, and it had depth too.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
