Fantastic book!
This has me gripped from the very first chapter!
Phenomenal, jaw dropping twists!
Highly recommend
K. L. Slater is one of my favourite authors and I’ve read pretty much Kim’s whole back list and like others, this didn’t disappoint. This was definitely a slow burner for me but it wraps up well. I enjoyed Slater’s writing and the ease that comes to reading any of her works. Good plot twists and character development where needed. All in all, another hit for Slater. Looking forward to reading this one again.
My thanks to NetGalley and Michael Joseph for a copy of “Message Deleted” for an honest review.
Another brilliant, suspenseful and gripping book by K L Slater.Ive never read anything by her that I haven’t really enjoyed .
She’s my “ go to “ when anyone asks me for a recommendation. Her books are so readable and keep you guessing right to the end. This book really built up the tension, and I had to rush to get to the end
I can’t wait for her next release !
This is a slow burn mystery of where the missing Bannatyne Family is and who took them. Saffy receives three disturbing messages from her bff Lenora, but the messages are quickly deleted. Distraught Saffy leaves her interview and heads to Lenora’s place. Hours later police are at Saffy’s place asking questions about the Bannatyne’s. There should be some sort of girl code established lol, everyone is dating, have dated each others bf at one point! Thanks to the publisher for a copy.
I loved KL Slaters novels and Message Deleted is a fantastic story of misdirection, twist and turns! I love to try and guess the ending to stories but you will never guess this one!
Great story centred around a mother whose life fell apart following an attack on her sister. Not the most relatable character but a good story that had lots of surprises
This was a decent slow burn thriller featuring Saffy who is concerned about her best friend Leona after receiving some concerning text messages that then get deleted. After Leona and her family go missing and Saffy was the last person to see her she comes under suspicion by the police investigating the disappearance. There’s a lot of back history to the characters in this which does add further mystery to the story but I did struggle to engage with the characters which made it a more challenging read for me, I had some suspicion regarding the perpetrator fairly early on which possibly also altered my feelings about this book as there were no major revelations for me. The concept of this is great and if I hadn’t sussed parts out sooner the conclusion would have been more satisfactory but that’s more a reflection on me than the story. 7/10
This is a great story which had me hooked from the very start. The fact I never figured out who the culprit was, tells me it was worth 5 stars. It was easy to read and there weren't too many characters. This helps from getting confused as to who is who. I could also see this made into a movie. Definitely would watch it!!
With friends like these.....!
K L Slater is one of my go to authors, her books are full of dodgy characters with suspect motives which makes for a great domestic noir/thriller. This was another enjoyable read from her and I love the way everything was tied up at the end.
I was reading another book but couldn't resist a peek at this one. Lethal! KL Slater draws you in like a moth to a flame. Initially you're thinking "what's the story?" but then she starts teasing with tempting snippets of background and unexplained mysteries. Before you know it, the other book is cast aside. A fiendishly complex plot, hugely enjoyable. K L Stater has done it again!
Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the advance copy.
This was a super quick read for me. I really felt invested into finding out what had happened. I did find myself getting slightly annoyed with the main character as she seemed to let so many people treat her badly.
It was fairly obvious where the plot was going but it didn't take away from the enjoyableness of the book.

I really enjoyed this book. Saffy receives a message from her friend Leona asking her to come straight over and not to call. However, when Saffy arrives Leona denies all knowledge of the message and claims everything is fine. Several hours later Saffy is told that Leona, her husband and young daughter have disappeared and blood has been found in the house. This is a fast paced story which will keep you on the edge of your seat to the end.
Thanks to NetGalley for a preview copy.
Copied to Goodreads.
I love this author one of my favourites so as soon as I seen this I could not wait to read it and wow I was not disappointed. It was a completely original thriller with well developed characters. It was one of those thrillers once you start you find it very difficult to put down. It had me guessing throughout. It was a fantastic read with many twists and turns highly recommended. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my advanced copy.
I am not going to say this book was bad, it just wasn't as good at most of her books. I feel like this could have been a first copy and then the real story will come with the editing and changing. It was still good and had a lot of suspense, but did feel kind of choppy. I didn't really care for any of the characters, but definitely enjoyed getting to know all the secrets behind all of them! Just didn't find myself really caring what happened to most of them. The ending was a shock. I would still recommend it. but just know it doesn't seem like her normal writing.
I think there was a really good novel in here somewhere however I think the constant jumping between characters and timelines made it all a bit confusing and tough to get lost in the story.
The twists towards the end and the final few chapters were excellent though so I am happy to have read it.
Complex thriller with many twists and turns. A diverse bunch of characters with various reasons for their behaviour. A good, keep you guessing read.
Saffy was about to go in for a job interview when she received a message from her best friend 'don't call, come." The message was deleted but Saffy took no chances. Everything was fine until saffy best friend and her family go missing.
Why?
I really enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down. The twists were very good and not expected. I did feel a lot for Saffy though she went through a lot and Mt heart went out to her.
Saffy and leona have been friends for years and saffy is godmother to leonas daughter.
When saffy gets a message from leona which is quickly deleted saffy races round to see her.
When leona later goes missing saffy is person of interest as the last person to see her.
What happened to leona and her daughter?
I loved this book and kept reading to find out where Leona went
Thanks to net galley and the publishers for this arc

K.L Slater has done it again with another fantastic psychological thriller. Be warned, once you start this book, you won’t be able to put it down. It’s well written, fast paced and has plenty of twists throughout.
I loved it and will recommend to all.
Saffy’s outlook on life has been overshadowed by traumatic events in her past. Her ex-husband now has full custody of their toddler son whilst the younger sister she has brought up is happy living in student digs instead of with her. Even her best friend Leona doesn’t really spend much time with her now that she is married with a daughter. But when Leona sends her three texts in quick succession, asking Saffy to go to her house, then deletes them just as quickly leaving Saffy without a choice but to get to Leona. But Leona is fine, her house looks great and even her obnoxious husband seems chatty. Leona denies any knowledge of the messages so Saffy goes home, only to hear later that Leona and her family are missing without a trace. There’s blood in the house, a blaring smoke alarm and a front door left open. And Saffy was the last person there. The last one to see them. The prime suspect.
I really enjoy books by this author and find myself saying, I’ll just read one more chapter…..always dangerous! A great read that kept me guessing.
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review.
