A great fast paced read. He falls first!! Based in New York and Mon is starting a new life. A lovely romance blossoms between the main characters.
I LOVED the big city setting in this book; especially that I started it while travelling in Manhattan it was really cool so read about all the places I’d been to!
AND there was spice from chapter 1!
It was interesting to read a romance story from the perspective of a minority race and some of the struggles that they go through. Overall the story was heartwarming although spicy. I would definitely be looking for more from this author as it was such a fascinating read.
I’m sure it was done on purpose in order to show proper development in their relationship, but that first scene was so cringe-inducing I couldn’t carry on - they had absolutely no chemistry!
This book fell a bit flat for me. I didn’t really ever buy into the chemistry of the two main characters and I didn’t really feel like the development of their relationship made it any more believable that they wanted to be a couple.
It was also very predicable that Olivia and Mon would just avoid the conversation about the future of their relationship what with them both living in different countries and that was just frustrating.
4.5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

✨ this book was an easy read for me.i got to admit I am a pinoy myself and I do understand some of the phrases in here and I can feel a nostalgic moment . No wonder I connect instantly with the author.
✨ Mon just arrived in New York. Starting a new life and achieving dream but all of a sudden saw a girl who then he got interested in instantly. Didn’t he know that they will work together😄
✨ I’m just lost with other pinoy random music in here which I’m not familiar with. Carla should’ve just added some credit on the end cover so it will be better to understand.
✨ worth to read.

I have never read a mills and boons book but I have some connections to Manila and I had just been to NY so I thought I would give it a go.
It was good fun. I don’t think I would read another but I like the Manila food references and falling for each other over pancit.
For all the film and music world bright brashness, this is a surprisingly cute and tender romance. Olivia and Mon are gentle and explore their world together slowly and tentatively. The book explores their emotions and how two totally different worlds and continents don’t help them try and find solid ground in a relationship. One world will need to give way to another and the book takes its time to look at this through Olivia and Mon’s eyes. The supporting friends are just the right level of endearing and support the plot. A solid read.
