So I took the gamble going in and reading this one as it was said to be a part of a series but could be read as a standalone novel if chosen to, Honestly, I really didn't think that was the case at all - previous readers would probably got a lot out of knowing past characters and the additional interactions, whereas I got nothing from it! It was a little bit of a muddle really that left me a bit confused about the world/the town/the people
HOWEVER, that being said that is totally on me for reading it without the books prior to it! The author IS good and the book IS cute, It's just not for me on the basis that I just didn't care about either characters, where I am sure others have 2 books before to want to know more about them.
Will in future avoid books mid series despite 'standalone' stances!!
It all started out really well and the romcom part of the book was great fun and it was sexy, but the sex eventually drowned out the story for me and got a bit boring.
Great if that’s what you’re after but I needed more of the romcom and story
A light-hearted, fun and joyous romance read that will leave readers smiling from earlier to ear. I really enjoyed this.
Very different from the first two books in the series but still so so good. It felt different but I love Ben so much as a character it was so nice to see him change in the series and particularly in this book. I wish there would be more books in the series, as it is such an open and welcoming world!
This was a just a great read. I was just all in the story.
Loved the MCs. Lovely written book. i enjoyed more than I expected I would
I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.
Ben Rosewood is happy with his life, but he knows that it could be better, and his wish for romance is made even more clear at his best friend's wedding, after which he drunkenly orders a plastic gemstone that happens to contain the imprisoned succubus Eleanora Bettencourt-Devereux, and boy is she angry. Imprisoned centuries ago by the Witch in the Woods, she vowed to get revenge as soon as she is freed, and she thinks that Ben is just weak enough to control, especially when she can sense his attraction to her. However, Eleanora soon sees that Ben is someone kind and caring, who runs himself ragged to help those he loves, and he's doing the same for her. It's time for her to give back, and save him from himself.
I've been looking forward to Ben's book for a while now, and his story was even better than I could expect it to be. Ben and Eleanora were such a great couple, but I loved how they started their relationship from a place of tenuous friendship, with Eleanora have walls greater than the Great Wall of China, that Ben slowly chipped at until he carved his name on her heart. The mystery element of this book wasn't as strong as in the previous books I would say, but nonetheless, the book was fantastic. I really liked seeing the Scooby Gang all together, and especially with the added input from Ben's sister, Gigi's, political campaign.
The male main character is a people-pleasing werewolf with anxiety who knits, wears sweater vests, and dislikes his werewolf identity. After a few drinks, he buys a magical item on eBay for a dollar, thinking it’s a joke, only to discover he now possesses a living, breathing vampire succubus bound to that item—and to him!
Written in third-person dual POV, the story lets us explore both characters' thoughts as they fall for each other. Our sweet werewolf, always the consent king, is mortified to realize he has the power to unintentionally control the succubus. He’s determined to be a good host, which gets spicy since she feeds on food, blood, and arousal. He even generously offers his blood straight from the source as they spend more time together.
The succubus, who is French and very old due to the magical object’s prolongation of her life, has been trapped for years. She has much to learn about modern technology, and I typically dislike pop culture references, but her constant comparisons to Star Trek were hilarious as she tried to understand the world around her. Though she had a dark past as an assassin for a witch, the Star Trek references added a delightful softness to her character, balancing out her talk of murder and disembowelment. It was such a fun read!

This was a different and fun read. Ben is a werewolf and one night he buys a crystal on ebay for 99c and inside is a vampire succubus who has been trapped in there for over 700 years. She had been forced to be a witches servant and for the 1st time in her life Elenora is free to do what she wants as Ben does not want her to serve him.
Together they set out to find the witch that trapped her and break her free from the curse forever.
I enjoyed this quite a lot, it was fun, silly, sexy, and i only found out that it was a series after i looked up the author. I dont feel i missed out on anything and will now read the 1st book about Callie.
This book was a little different from my usual read but I really enjoyed it. A cute story of a werewolf and vampire with different personalities falling in love. Great supporting characters too.
Another hilarious addition to the Glimmer Falls series, this book reverses the genders so the vicious character is the woman rather than the man.
I loved Eleanora’s character so much. She was the perfect Succubus/ Vampire assassin being equal parts sexy and murderous. Ben was also adorable, being a peaceful werewolf who likes sweater vests and knitting. Both characters meshed well together and made for a really good pairing.
Consent was important in this book, as it was in the first book. It was danced around for a bit, but they had some important conversations and made sure that there was enthusiastic consent on both sides before sex came into the picture. I think they handled it as well as they could for a book with this plot.
Overall, I enjoyed it a lot, though perhaps not as much as the other two. The second was by far my favourite.
"A Werewolf's Guide to Seducing a Vampire" by Sarah Hawley is a delightful and playful paranormal romance that blends humor, heat, and heart in an irresistible package. Hawley’s witty and engaging writing brings a fresh twist to the classic supernatural love story, offering readers a charming tale that is both steamy and laugh-out-loud funny.
The novel follows the unlikely romance between a werewolf and a vampire—two supernatural beings from traditionally opposing sides—who find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other. Hawley skillfully navigates the complexities of their relationship, from the initial sparks of attraction to the challenges they face as they attempt to bridge the gap between their worlds. The chemistry between the characters is electric, and their banter is as sharp as it is endearing.
Hawley enriches the story with vibrant characters and a well-crafted paranormal setting, complete with all the quirks and dynamics of supernatural society. The protagonist’s journey is not just about seduction but also about self-discovery and challenging preconceived notions, making the romance feel deeper and more satisfying.
"A Werewolf's Guide to Seducing a Vampire" is perfect for fans of paranormal romance who enjoy a story that doesn't take itself too seriously but still delivers on all the feels. Sarah Hawley has created a fun and imaginative world where the unexpected can happen, and love can bloom in the most unlikely of places. This novel is a must-read for anyone looking for a supernatural romance that's equal parts swoon-worthy and hilarious.
Werewolf Ben finds himself in the possession of a crystal that may be harbouring something. He soon leans the secret it holds and it changes his life. Eleanor has never wanted to be bonded to anything or anyone but maybe Ben can be the one to set her free.
Well this was a fun read. We meet all sorts of mythical creatures and they're lots of fun. This was an unusual read and not what I was expecting and yet I found myself enjoying the ride. The plot is crazy but the story develops and it doesnt get lost along the way. The characters have their own merits and I loved Ben so much. It was an interesting twist to give him anxiety and it just made him cuter. Eleanor is hilarious too. The ending was great and just how I wanted it to end. A fun read for anyone who likes a werewolf story that isnt too serious.
this book as not what I was expecting or what I wanted out of it. It was okay, but the werewolf didn't work out of me, the vampire character was good, funny, charming. It was a bit too long for what it was, felt like a lot of filler. I needed more from the romance, I didn't feel it really.
3.5 stars
I really enjoyed the romance between Ben and Eleanor. Eleanor was just the most fun character! I would love to know more of her backstory
This was a charming romance and I am obsessed with this small town full of wonderful characters. The griffin owned B&B and Lilith were my favourite parts of book 2, I was delighted to have them feature in book 3
This would have been a solid 4 star read if it weren't for Gigi's mayoral campaign which took up a good third of the book. I just felt it took me out of the moment
This was a very light and enjoyable read and I hope there will be more in the series because I will read them
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
Like the other books in this series, this one did not disappoint. I had so much fun being back in Glimmer Falls and these books are so good. I will read anything Hawley writes is what I have learned with this series.
‘A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire’ by Sarah Hawley is a spooky, spicy romance set in Glimmer Falls - a small town where magical beings and immortals congregate. Werewolf Ben is the proprietor of the town’s popular plant emporium, perpetually single and anxious every time a full moon beckons. When he drunkenly purchases a cut-price enchanted gem on eBay, he suddenly becomes the commander of Eleanora, a gorgeous 700-year old vampire. As the pair begin to bond and Eleanora realises that being with Ben isn’t like her previous enslavement, sparks begin to fly.
I loved both main characters in this book - especially Ben who was so sweet and relatable, but also super hot when described through Eleanora’s eyes! I wish I had read the previous books in the series (brb, adding to tbr) as I also enjoyed reading about his friendship circle including witches, pixies and demons. The town itself was very vivid and gorgeous, and I liked the various small businesses mentioned.
The chemistry between the leads was fantastic, and the supernatural elements certainly added to the spice level. Alongside the steaminess was a lot of deep conversation and opening up, which was just as great to read and made my heart flutter. The dark turns and adventure elements were well pitched and added tension in a very interesting way.
Overall, I found this to be an amazing read - good for any time of year, but especially perfect as spooky season begins to approach! It gets 4.5 stars from me.
I received an advance Digital Review Copy of this book from the publisher Orion Books via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.
A funny, delightful quirky romance. As with the others in the series there are nice nods to the other relationships and characters we meet, but it can absolutely be read as a standalone.
I loved the plot for this one was different to the others and took a path I wasn't expecting.
Our two characters are completely opposite of each at first, and slowly we begin to see the real them and what they like in each other as the story progresses. And their chemistry together is amazing, its hot and steamy yet tender all at once. And the guy is the cinnamon role, golden Labrador of adorableness and the girl is the sassy fun vampire. Loved that dynamic between them.
Theres a lovely element of found-family too, and its just really humorous and light-hearted all round.
Will definitely lift your spirits and I'd really recommend to read for spooky season!
Forced Proxemity. Slow Burn. A Curse to break together. Opposites attract.
This felt like such a unique read. An anxious introverted werewolf accidently ends up with a feisty vampire succubus dealing with the trauma of a lifetime of imprisonment.
I loved the juxtaposition element of Ben, he has always felt so different because he isn't like the other wolves and doesn't enjoy being a wolf. He lives a very safe and quiet life, until one drunken mistake brings the whirlwind of Eleanora into his life.
He grounds her and shows her what friendship and kindness looks like without expectation and she helps manage his people pleasing tendencies so he doesn't over do it.
A beautiful story to complete this series, though part of me hoped Themmie would get her story.
Gentle, sweet, never-able-to-say-no werewolf Ben Rosewood is mostly happy with his life. Of course, he wishes he has more time for himself, especially now that he’s opening a new activity and he is also helping his sister running for mayor of Glimmer Falls. Also, he hates turning into a werewolf and chasing animals. And, while his friends around him are all happily in love, he is still single.
One night, Ben returns home drunk and buys a crystal off eBay and then forgets about it. Until the crystal is delivered to his home and a very angry and beautiful vampire succubus named Eleonore Bettencourt-Devereux comes out from it.
A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire is such a fun read!!! I loved Ben and Eleanor. He is so adorable, genuine and shy, always ready to help others, even if that means staying up all night. Eleanor, on the other hand, is not at all gentle. Sassy, Star-Trek lover, and very very angry after being stuck for centuries inside the crystal, she is looking for revenge against the witch who trapped her there and Ben promises to help her break the curse so she can finally be free. Eleanor was such a fun and intriguing character and some of my favourite scenes were her attempts to adapt to the modern world.
I can’t recommend the Glimmer Falls series enough. Set in a town where magical creatures live mostly harmoniously, from witches to demons, from werewolves to pixies, it is such a fun and delightful series and A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire is my favourite story. Steamy, romantic, and hilarious, it will keep you quite entertained!
Take one cinnamon roll, people pleasing, plant loving werewolf with social anxiety. Add a cursed, vampire-succubus hybrid assassin. Sprinkle on some humour, some dreams of revenge and a smidge of Star Trek and you have a corker of a read!
Eleonore is a fast learner and a Trekker! Ben's social anxiety makes him feel like an outsider, even in his own pack and family. His people pleasing ways are running him ragged. They may be complete opposites but they are magic together! Eleonore steps in when Ben takes on too much and he attempts to talk her off her murderous, vengeance-filled ledge!
They have an unusual pact and when they finally accept their situation, the steam really builds! I thought the plot was well paced and I always enjoy getting to meet previous couples and seeing how they are faring.
Smexy, adventurous, quirky, witty banter and characters you'd happily have as friends for yourself!
