There was a bit of an Arabian Nights vibe about A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire only, instead of a genie in a lamp, after drunkenly participating in an online auction, werewolf Ben Rosewood finds himself in possession of a vampire succubus in a crystal and a very irate one at that who would like nothing more than to unalive him – the moral of the story here being don’t drink bid….. OK so we’ve all done that and regretted it but not almost dying as a result. Fortunately for Ben a binding spell stops her from putting her fervent desire into practice and ripping his head off, so they eventually find some middle ground and agree to help each other.

With quirky and engaging characters, this was a fun humour filled romance. The spice was sizzling and the banter well written and amusing throughout. I loved the role reversal with this book. Vampire Eleanore was definitely the alpha of the pair despite Ben’s tendencies to howl whenever there’s a full moon. She was crazy but then that’s understandable after being trapped by a witch for centuries. She was also very protective of Ben so instead of the usual ‘touch her and die’ it was more a case of ‘touch him and I’ll bite you and suck you dry’….and not in the way that Ben liked when she bit him. Ben was unlike any werewolf character I’ve read. He was lonely and let's face it, was a bit of a nerd but he managed to rein in some of Eleanore’s more excessive tendencies while guiding her through life in the twenty-first century, a lot has changed in the seven hundred years she’s been trapped and in return she calmed his anxieties and makes him feel worthy. With this series Sarah Hawley has created a fantastic world in Glimmer Falls and its one I’ll be happy to revisit.

I love the Glimmer Falls series and it was great to see Ben as the main character in this story. He’s such a cinnamon roll character and I can’t get enough of how much he loves a sweater vest, it’s the most endearing thing. Ben felt like the perfect fit for Eleanora, who’s been through some stuff, and is still going through it. She needs some tlc and someone 100% genuine, and that’s Ben. They have a rocky road as they get to know each other and build trust between them, especially with the unusual power dynamic, but it was fun to watch these two together and to see Eleanora settling into the town lifestyle. Both characters experience mental health issues, with Ben’s anxiety and Eleanora’s PTSD, and this was well written (at least in my opinion) and in a wonderfully accepting way. Something about this book didn’t hit the same as the others and I can’t put my finger on what it is, so there’s every chance it’s my current mood which has me restless. This sweet and spicy romance was a fun read and features cameos from all our favourite characters from Glimmer Falls, but can be read as a standalone book.

I received a free copy of this book. All views are my own.

This was a mixed bag for me. I liked Ben and Eleanora and the moments spent with them navigating their unexpected relationship and getting to know each other were good. I liked the reversal of Ben bing the softie and Eleanor being the stabby one in the relationship. I thought there was enough story between the two leads trying to figure out the curse, falling for each other and Eleanor acclimating to her new life and would have preferred more focus on these things. The subplot with Gigi and the mayoral race was not really needed imo and took away from developing the curse breaking plot more. I did like getting an update on the couples from books 1 and 2. Overall a low 3⭐️.

The third novel in this highly enjoyable series. I devoured Sarah's first two novels, attended an author talk she did in Edinburgh - I am a FAN.
This novel did not disappoint. I loved Eleanora and Ben's story. The beautiful small town setting of Glimmer Falls; the eccentric characters are always enjoyable.

This series is quickly becoming a firm favourite, there’s a great overall story arc and each book focuses on a new relationship.
This has to be the spiciest yet, with a fantastic dynamic between Ben and Eleanora. Ben is a mild mannered werewolf who doesn’t like to lose control and vampire Eleanora has a very unusual outlook on life, due to a very unique situation.
When they meet, let’s just say - sparks fly. So much fun.

This story is so much fun, I was giggling as I read it! Eleanore’s attempts to acclimate to the 21st century are simply hilarious. Ben is not your typical romance novel hero, being anxious, introverted and into plants and knitting, but somehow these two prove a perfect fit for each other. Of course, there are a lot of side plots and comic misunderstandings and misadventures along the way to removing the witch’s curse and finding their ‘happily ever after’, but the story rollicks along with unfailing energy and optimism. It’s a joy to read!

This review is for A Werewolf’s Guide to Seducing a Vampire by Sarah Hawley which will be released in the UK on the 15th August! Thanks so much to Netgalley and Gollancz for giving me an eArc copy for this book in exchange for my honest review.

Sarah is turning into a comfort author for me now, I love everything she has written and this book is no different. It’s one of those books that will make you giggle out loud while also wondering wtf am I reading.

It’s super fast paced and so easy to read, I had a great time throughout the whole book. It’s unabashedly strange, but in such the best way. It’s super imaginative and unique, and features the characters we have come to love from the previous books in the series as well. It’s honestly so funny, and cringe but in the best way.

The main characters in this were both so sweet and so spicy at the same time, I loved it! You have the badass, murdering FMC Eleanora who is a vampire such is who has finally been released from the crystal she’s been trapped in for years, and the anxious, soft spoken, cinnamon roll MMC Ben who you just want to squeeze into a hug. They’re both so different, but they both work perfectly with each other. They have such great chemistry, as well as good character development both showing them both becoming better people while together and learning from each other.

I would 100% recommend this to any romance readers out there, it’s honestly a breath of fresh air and you will not regret it (and also may pee a bit laughing so hard).

Ben Rosewood has barely enough hours in the day and quite frankly the monthly shift caused by the full moon is something he'd happily remove from his to-do list, given the option. So when he makes a drunken eBay purchase that drops a centuries-old vampire into his life - and under his control - it's absolutely the last thing he needs. Or is it?
This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. Ben and Eleanora are the epitome of opposites, and both are refreshingly original characters with compelling points of view. I didn't know I was waiting to read about a bloodthirsty French vampire/succubus cross whose only modern cultural references are old episodes of Star Trek, but apparently I was. As her counterpoint, Ben is an anxious, people-pleasing sweetheart and the way they learn to work together and fall for each other is beautifully done. With a wonderful blend of chemistry, friendships, action and hilarity, this is another excellent addition to this quirky and captivating series.

This book has a whimsical charm, with vibes of a mix between Halloweentown and The Good Witch. I think the characters are a little underdeveloped, there's a lot of the author just stating personality aspects of a character but their actions don't reflect that, and some parts of the narrative are repetitive.

A raunchy cosy read. While it may not stand the test of time for post-2020s readers due to some phrases that I can imagine will be stuck in this decade, it’s still a fun romp for those in the mood for a cosy supernatural romance.

Ben is a werewolf that longs for a relationship, after one too many weddings he gets very drunk and accidentally buys a magical rock that contains a vampire / succubus. The next morning he forgets all about that until he wins the eBay auction and the magical rock appears at his doorstep.

Eleonora has been imprisoned in a plastic rock for seven centuries and all this time her only connection to the world was the witch that trapped her inside and the times she send her to kill her enemies.

Ben can't believe that he actually bought a vampire through eBay but he wants to make it all right, he will help her break the curse but he has so many things on his plate that this might actually break him.

Eleonora doesn't believe that he is as harmless as he seems, he could command her to do anything ans she has no choice but to comply. But little by little she starts to trust him and blend in his world.

Ben was so sweet, he was actually a marshmallow, I liked how he took care of Eleonora and opened up to her. Eleonora has a lot to learn about the new world but she is quick to catch up and she even starts to feel more than she has even before.

The story had a lot going on, Ben's new shop opening, his sister's campaign for mayor and Eleonora's acting taking a very interesting turn that didn't leave a lot of space for the curse and the romance. I would have enjoyed it more if the romance was more in the center of the story.

I haven't read the previous books in the series, so I wasn't familiar with the side characters from the previous books which was a bit confusing at first but I was able to follow along.

* I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Sarah hawley has once again created characters you fall in love with immediately and a story you cannot stop reading. The anxiety rep for Ben was well handled and I absolutely loved Eleanora's character, she was fierce, but also kind of clueless in an endearing way, watching her discover modern technology and pop culture brought a lot of humour to the book, and didn't date the story or become too annoying.

The romance between them was tender and perfectly built up, I almost cried when she gave him flowers because she thought he deserved them too?? (She ripped them out of the ground and doesn't understand modern customs because she's been trapped in an ancient crystal for decades but come on, that's adorable.)

Whilst I really enjoyed the romance and the overall plot, it felt like there wasn't much focus on breaking the curse or finding the witch, even though that seemed like it would be the main purpose of the whole story. There were a lot of side plots that seemed to overshadow that, like the cafe and Ben's sister running for mayor, which made the resolution feel pretty rushed and under planned, but regardless, I loved the book and series a lot.

This is a hilarious and cosy fantasy romance with wholesome small town vibes due to its magical community. I laughed way more than I expected, particularly at the excellent characterization of Eleanora, Glimmer Falls’ new resident vampire succubus after being bought on eBay.

She threatens pretty much everyone in the novel and yet was fantastically easy to root for. The way the author wrote her violent and aggressive personality was bizarrely endearing. I would read a book with just Eleanora at its core. I liked Ben too but he was just far too mild for me to emotionally invest in him. I enjoyed the gender role reversals the author plays with; how Ben likes to knit and Eleanora would prefer to stab someone with knitting needles. The dynamic between them is captivating and definitely kept me going through the novel.

I also loved the smutty scenes. I need to read more books with succubi in them because that was super fun. And although this is part of a series, I actually read this as a standalone and didn’t feel like I was missing anything. In fact, it made me want to read the first two in the series because I really enjoyed the glimpses of their relationships.

Unfortunately, it just didn’t hold my attention as much as I hoped it would. Despite this, I loved its bizarre scenes, funny interactions, wholesome romance, and overall vibes.

This was a fun book! Like others by Sarah Hawley, this was a nice afternoon read with nothing too hard hitting or stressful. I liked the characters and the rom-com feel of the book.

I think what felt lacking however was distinction from her other books. Whilst I enjoyed them all in isolation, there is too much similarity between them.

A good time but nothing to write home about.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I adore this series so much - every book is just so FUN and entertaining to read. This could well be my favourite of the three - a werewolf with anxiety and a vampire-succubus who loves Star Trek? Be still my anxious, Trekkie heart! This book was made for me.

You're going to adore this book if you're a fan of paranormal romance with real heart - there are moments of vulnerability and tenderness amongst witty banter and ridiculous hijinks. Familiar faces from previous books round out a cast of side characters who add more hilarity to the story.

This is a popcorn read through and through, and I loved it.

This is such an adorable spicy paranormal romance with a splash of coziness 🐺🩸

We follow Ben who’s an adorable cinnamon roll of a werewolf that we’ve seen a little of in the previous books. He accidentally purchases a vampire succubus that’s trapped in a crystal online (it sounds a little strange I know, but stay with me here) which is cursed so that the being trapped inside has to obey the owner’s commands without question 🔮

Eleanor has been trapped away for 70 years and has a lot to learn about the modern world. She’s very much an “ask questions later”, grumpy, kick ass character and who was previously an assassin ⚔️

We follow them as they try to break the curse, set up a theatre/arts space, support Ben’s sister in her mayoral campaign and learn how the modern world works. It’s really entertaining and got some good laughs out of me 😂

This was such a great read to be snuggled up with on a rainy day, it’s like a hug in a book ☕️

This book was SO much fun, I didn't read the previous books in order so I was unsure if this would effect my experience when reading AWGTSAV but it didn't at all.

I enjoyed the chemistry between Ben and Eleonore, they were both relatable (despite Eleonore being a stabby FMC and Ben, well.. supernatural). The story flows very nicely, it has really good representation of anxiety and to top it all off, I had the best time reading my way through. This book made me burst out in laughter several times. I always get so much enjoyment out of reading Sarah Hawley's books, this one was no different.

If you're looking for a fun book full of curses, werewolves and spice - this one is for you.

So, you’ve heard of knotting but have you heard of vampires drinking blood from a very intimate place…? No. Are you intrigued? Probably more than likely.

This is a funny easy to read book. Our main characters are a sunshine werewolf who knits and a succubus/vampire who’s been trapped in a crystal for a very long time and has a lot of murderous tendencies.

When I say I LOVED this book I mean it. My favourite one so far

This was a fun ride and is everything you expect from Sarah Hawley and Glimmer Falls. There was lots of tension and I really loved all of Eleonore, the succubus' abilities which proved to be very entertaining,

Ben, a werewolf, always single and hating that he cannot find the one ends up bidding on a possessed crystal while drunk and when it arrives he soon finds out that it is in face possessed.

This was good fun, easy to read and gave me all the warm, fuzzy vibes. A perfect read for holiday or long train journeys (as long as you don't get flustered reading the spicy bits)

Thank you to netgalley for the opportunity to read this in advance in exchange for an honest review.
