this is such a perfect summer read!! i’ve been following cameron capello for a while now and was so happy to see that she was releasing a book and even more happy when i got the arc!
and my expectations were not too high! once i started reading i couldn’t put the book down and was immediately captivated by the story. this book is written for romance girlies!!!! the characters felt very relatable and were so fun (sometimes also devastating) to read about! this is a great debut novel!!

A slow dreamy meandering start that merges into a white hot burn. Sad, uplifting and sassy how this panders out leaves you thinking and wanting more. Watch it this summer bound to be a big hit. Loved it.

Excuse me, Cameron, but what did you put in this book??? 😭
.
I know all the reviews on goodreads are gushing about the romance in this novel and trust me, the romance and the spice and everything are there (!!!), but why did no one mention Magdalen’s dad so far (utterly parent goals) - ‘Half of your pain is felt by my whole heart’. And also Anika is the fierce friend everyone deserves in life.
.
I don’t believe this is a debut, the writing is too good and I read it in one sitting, which is the biggest compliment I could ever give a book, so I’ll leave you with that.
.
Also, I really want to be in Italy right now 💔
.
Thanks @bookbreakuk for the copy and @thechamberofsecretbooks - we need to have a chat! 💗

Thank you NetGalley that I could read the book as an arc!

The first 100 pages are particularly engaging, filled with beautiful quotes

The story follows two characters, each struggling with their own family issues. Theo is portrayed as the kind of bad boy with daddy issues, while Magdalen grapples with mommy issues but has a loving father. Set against the backdrop of a summer setting, their journey unfolds as they spend time together.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the novel, I must admit that it felt a bit rough around the edges for me. The dynamic between the characters, filled with love and romance but lacking in gentleness, made it difficult for me to fully connect with them. However, this is purely a personal preference, and I believe many readers will still find immense enjoyment in the book. It reminds me of Magnolia Parks, so any lover of that book series will enjoy this! Despite my own reservations, I believe it has the potential to resonate deeply with readers who appreciate complex characters and compelling narratives.

first thanks to NetGalley for the arc. now i've been following cameron for a few years now and when she announced this book i knew it would slap. and lowkey it did not dissapoint. this is by far the best debut book i have read, and as far as debuts go this aint bad. now the most expected smut, well. . . it was at the far end, when you meet the characters you'll know why. the characters are complex with some trauma, it's like both never heard of a therapist but hey who am i to judge. cameron you do owe me some tissues. the ending!!! the ending excuse me. . . what do you mean it ended like that. why, what was the reason. my little egyptian mythology obsessed heart jumped.
if you love banging in italy, some major dirty language (eyes emoij), if you love some italian (duolingo did not prepare me for those lines but thanks for the italian lessons), compex characters with baggage, trauma, over all brothers best-friend, best-friend's brother, a hunk, and mister wanna-be mysterious and miss wanna-be mysterious, best friend that understands you and lets you be, sibling dynamics that are complex (this is a point that could've been used more in the story), and did i mention banging in italy? this is for you.

Right off the bat - I’m not the biggest romance girlie BUT I started following Cameron online years ago and followed the journey of her writing this book so I felt so excited to read it!!! And with good reason!!

This is SUCH a good book full of tension, yearning, desire, tragedies, everything. I couldn’t get enough of the characters so quite frankly I was really happy when I realised this book was over 400 pages long. I mean, over 400 pages and I read it in a day soooo 👀

The only reason I knocked off a star was because many of the Italian dialogues were incorrect, and as an Italian speaker this kind of bothered me lol, but I’m sure it literally wouldn’t matter to anyone else, it’s just that I know what the translation is actually meant to be. For example, in the very beginning Theo Says “tornerò su quell’aereo se non smetti di parlare” and then it translates to “I’m going to go back to that airport if you don’t stop talking” but the actual translation is “I’ll get back on that plane if you don’t stop talking.” This goes on to happen in many other scenarios, hence my rating.

Nonetheless, this was such a great ride and I would highly recommend!!!

Read it in one day, couldn’t put it down. The girlies will love to read this sipping a cold drink at the beach this summer

Just received an arc from Netgalley (thank you Netgalley and Pan Macmillan) and I am absolutely devouring it 😭 the Call me by your name vibe is there, you can feel the sizzling spark and summer heat pulsing between Theo and Maggie without being disgusted (which is usually what i feel when i read contemporary romances). Will update once I finish🥹

What a book! From the very early on, I started to care so so much for Magdalen and Theo and continued rooting for them the whole way, individually and as a pair. The writing style was so vivid and engaging, I ended up reading the whole thing in two days and was truly left in awe by the end. I cannot recommend enough - the perfect read for fans of Sally Rooney and Emily Henry. Big 5/5 !!!

What a gorgeous gorgeous book! I absolutely cannot wait to share my full thoughts and review on this one! I think the cover is absolutely breathtaking. I also love that it’s a love story between people that spans quite a bit of time. I love a good Love Rosie/One Day vibe and this book is definitely giving it! I apologize I’m slowly catching up on reviews due to a current health issue, but I’m getting there and reading/reviewing exceptional books like this one is the best medicine
