I have previously reviewed this book in Nov. 2022. The cover has changed and unfortunately my previous digital copy was for a limited time so I can’t compare editions. Having recently visited Antartica I was more interested in the section of the beautiful fjords and glaciers this time around. My original review is below.
Norway is a stunning country and the color photographs show off its natural beauty. The sections include; Glaciers and Fjords, The Islands, Provinces and Towns, and Oslo. I've spent a few days in Oslo and was excited to see parks, buildings, sites and statues I visited. But this book makes me want to return and get further out of the capital city. This is a great souvenir for someone who has been to Norway and I can see it as something I would check out from a library.
If you have been lucky to visit Norway on your travels this book will bring you amazing reminders of the beautiful and extreme landscapes that cover this amazing country. From ice to green green grass this country has it all and this is a perfect coffee table book to have along with your holiday photos. If you have never been to Norway I challenge you to look at this book and not book a trip as it’s just a gorgeous place to visit and I will be going back soon.
Norway is becoming a more popular tourist destination. I can see why after seeing the photos and reading the captions in Claudia Martin’s Norway book. Yes, there is lots of ice and cold, but the ice is layers of blues and whites with texture…and that seems to describe everything. Norway is full of color and texture, from fascinating architecture to the landscape and northern lights. Norway has over 6000 rock carvings that date between 4200 BCE and 300 BCE!
Do I want to visit now? Yes, absolutely. First, this Texas will need a much better winter coat.
Thank you, Netgalley and Amber Books (Hi, y’all!), for the ARC!
I've already reviewed this book. This is my review: Norway is a jaw dropping beautiful masterpiece of a book. If you were not in love with Norway before you will be after reading this book. The photography is simply stunning. The different features of Norway from cities, to fjords, wildlife, mountains, culture, history and so much more jump from the pages. The book is full of colour and life, and I could almost touch the snow. This is an inspiring book and will definitely leave you wanting to visit Norway. It would make a beautiful gift but would also be a book I would want to keep on my coffee table for dreaming and inspiration.
