I really enjoyed this book. This is the first in the series and I am definitely going to read the others.

I liked the character of Leigh Brody. Her backstory is heartbreaking but she is a very strong character and never gives up.

The case in this book that she is tasked with trying to solve was full of twists and turns. I definitely look forward to more cases.

Very good. Great characters. Sets the tone well with the small town vibe. Really enjoyed it. Hopefully this is the first in a series for Leigh. I'll be back for more

I had the opportunity to read this book which I received from Storm Publishing via Netgalley. As it is the first in a series I always hope for a great one so I have more books to look forward to. Luckily for me, that wasthe case with this one! And, I already received book 2 as well (which I'm currently reading 😎).

FBI agent Leigh Brody returns to her hometown after a body is marked with her name. Returning to her hometown brings back some bad memories. It’s been twenty years since Leigh found the murdered body of her twelve-year-old brother, Troy. Her father was arrested for the crime, but she never accepted that he did it. Her hunt for the real killer almost cost her everything. Can she focus on this case, which rapidly turns into a horror show, while fighting the demons from her past?

It was a great start to a series - an interesting background of the main protagonist with a great current case to work on. The struggle of the past is described well and makes it all the more captivating. All in all, a more than decent start to, hopefully, a long and interesting series.

I have really mixed feelings about this mystery. Overall, I really enjoyed reading about 85%. The last 15% though just didn't seem believable. It felt like a Hollywood ending with explosions and super-human strength in characters that wasn't rational. And the twist?...nah, not buying it. However, the rest was satisfying enough that I would try another title by this author! Thank you NetGalley and publishers for providing a digital ARC for review.

Wow, wow, WOW this was a rollercoaster of a read!!

Leigh Brody has come back to her hometown, the place where her whole world fell apart. Her little brother vanished there, her father was arrested and her mother committed suicide. The town does NOT want Leigh Brody to be there but she is a grown woman now and besides, she was asked to consult on a case that the local police had.

There is SO much going on in this book. A fast-paced thrill ride, tight writing, characters who provoke strong emotions and in amongst it all is a woman who is just trying to move on from the horrible events of her past.

I enjoyed the twist in the tale very much indeed and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. So happy to discover a new author, as well!

I am a sucker for a fast paced thriller especially when the good guys and gals are hunting down dangerous monsters. This book had it all!

This book was fast paced, and really gripped my attention from the start. Going "back home" can always be a challenge, but in Leigh's case, it was even harder when the majority of town was not on her side. I appreciated that Leigh kept fighting, and that her determination proved how much this case meant to her, especially given her history in the town and all that her family had gone through. All of the twists and turns really added to the story, and the small town setting really helped tie it all together.

This was my first book by this author! Can’t resist a good crime thriller with a twist. The first book of the series and i will happily be reading the second!

Leigh is on medical leave when she gets a message from her friend Elyse. When she gets there Elyse is missing and there's blood all over the floor. What happened to her? Her husband is acting strange and what about the daughter? Elyse is missing and girls are being kidnapped and murdered. Twists and turns, finding out the truth and some surprises. Can't wait for book 3.

This book was an absolute page-turner from start to finish. The gripping plot and expertly crafted suspense kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Each twist and turn was more thrilling than the last, and the author’s ability to build tension was unparalleled. The intricate storyline and unexpected developments made this a truly unforgettable read. I couldn’t recommend it more for anyone who loves a high-stakes thriller with plenty of surprises.

Book 1 in Leigh Brody FBI series and it's the start of a great new series. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the installment in this new series. I think it will keep up guessing with each new book. If you like suspense, give this one read.

I was enjoying this book a lot… the story of her father incarcerated for serial killings, and a copycat killer leading her to be sent to investigate in her home town. However, the twists at the end were terrible. It is not believable that she kept the survival,of her. Rather a secret for years, that her father was incarcerated for years for his death. That ruined it for me. Not believable.

Wow!! The twists and turns in this book were insane. All the mind games and anger and guilt kept me guessing who had done what. There were a couple of “Wow! I did NOT see that coming” moments. I am looking forward to hopefully more of this series.

I really enjoyed this book! So much, that I read it in one sitting! It held my interest and I would highly recommend this book.

This was a compelling thriller with many twists and turns which kept the story interesting and moving forward.

A well done and well written thriller, I was thoroughly enjoying it. However, the ending fell a little flat for me, so 3.5 stars.
