Hooked from the very start. This book is full of suspense. The characters are very believable and connect well with each other. I thought I had guessed who the murderer was half way through the book, but I was so wrong!!!! What a brilliant ending to a fantastic book. Can’t wait for the next book in the Leigh Brody F.B.I

Great read, thoroughly enjoyed the quest taken by Leigh Brody to discover who is behind the copycat killings of her brother and his friends years ago. The book takes Leigh back to her childhood town where she left after the horrific murders rocked the community. Although there are a lot of characters and you do need to concentrate, it's a compelling read. Thanks to Net Galley for the advanced copy

"The Girl Who Survived" kicks off a riveting new crime thriller series with a compelling storyline that hooks readers from the start. FBI Agent Leigh Brody returns to her hometown in New Hampshire when a body is discovered with a disturbing clue linking back to her past. Driven to uncover the truth behind her brother's murder and her father's imprisonment, Leigh embarks on a relentless quest for justice, unravelling a complex web of mystery and danger.

Despite the familiar trope of a protagonist returning to their hometown to solve a personal case, the novel excels in building tension and intrigue. The atmospheric setting, the protagonist's dogged determination, and the well-paced narrative keep the reader engaged throughout.

With a gripping plot, unexpected twists, and palpable suspense, "The Girl Who Survived" lays a strong foundation for the series ahead. A promising start that captivates and leaves readers eager for more.

Special thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC copy.

This book didn't sustain my attention and I had to push myself to continue. I felt there was a lot of "telling and not showing," and I found the dialogue to be a bit hokey. What you would see on daytime television and not realistic.

Thank you Nicole Severn for this THRILLING turn in your writing. The Girl Who Survived was a great read from start to finish and I had trouble putting it down. I had some doubts about the perp, but kept silencing my doubts, so the ending was a surprise. I can't wait to read more Leigh Brody, FBI books.

Twenty years ago Leigh's family was struck by tragedy which caused her to leave town. A copycat murder forces her to come back, but no one is happy she is back. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat. I finished this book in a day because I couldn't put it down. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

I received this book for free for an honest review.

This is my first book by Nichole Severn and it certainly won't be my last, I really enjoyed the writing style and execution of the plot. A

This is book one in the Leigh Brody FBI series and it's makes quite an impression in a positive way.

It was fast paced, intense, suspenseful, emotive read well deserving on its five stars excited to see how this series develops.

A very well written book with very interesting characters lots of whom have a back story so plenty of angles to hold your interest throughout. There is plenty of tension and it’s gory in parts but never goes overboard. I so wanted to give five stars but for me there was a twist too many and whilst it was a complete shock I didn’t feel it added anything and rather the opposite as it was too hard to believe and the plot would have been just as good without it. However the book is great so happy to recommend.

This is the first book I have read by this author, and it will not be the last! I really enjoyed following the character of Leigh Brody as she returns to her hometown to investigate a series of murders. I found the plot interesting and engaging, although I did feel as though the reactions to Leigh's return seemed a bit much. The last quarter of the book was fast-paced, and full of surprise twists and turns. I look forward to continuing to follow the journey of Leigh in the upcoming books.

Thank you to Netgalley and Storm Publishinf for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the ARC of The Girl Who Survived by Nichole Severn in return for my honest review.
I really wasn’t sure whether to give this book three or four stars but decided on four as i really liked the story and it kept me captivated till the end. My uncertainty about how many stars was I felt the twist at the end ( no spoilers) was a little to far fetched for me, apart from that is was a good read and I would recommend.

Thank you Netgalley and Storm Publishing for the chance to read The girl who survived (Leigh Brody FBI mystery #1) by Nichole Severn. When I started reading, it appeared that this would be the usual police procedural/thriller; FBI agent goes back to her hometown after 20 years, where her brother had been killed and her Father convicted of the crime. Leigh knew her Father hadn't committed the crime, but the police would not listen to her back then. Now she is back home because there have been several murders which seem to copy those murders years ago.
I was hooked right away to this story and the twists and turns in the story makes this a must read! I was blown away by the ending! I am definitely going to read the next book in the series.

The Girl Who Survived by Nichole Severn is the first book in the new Leigh Brody FBI Mystery series and what a cracking start this was, especially as it grips you from the start till the very end.

It’s now been twenty years since Leigh found the murdered body of her twelve-year-old brother, Troy. Her father was arrested for the crime, but she never accepted that he did and her hunt for the real killer almost cost her everything….....
But nothing will stop her finding out who the killer was.

Now Leigh is working for the FBI, and she is called back to New Hampshire when a series of copycat crimes are committed. Only the killer has left a very specific calling card, "a plastic army figurine", this is the same as the one she found on Troy’s body, and carved into its base: Is Leigh’s name.

This case is as personal as it gets, and this time, Leigh is determined to make the right person pay. But when another child goes missing, she needs to dig deeper onto her past! It's going to be painful, But she needs to do this, to find out the truth on what really happened to her brother Troy and to find out who the true killer was/is and put them
behind bars for good?

This was excellent and a great holiday read, I highly recommend this new book.

Big thank you to NetGalley & Storm Publishing for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

"An addictive, edge-of-your-seat crime thriller, with a twist you will not see coming." ~~~ Well they certainly had this one right!

Normally I take notes of what I'm reading but this book was so captivating that I read it in one sitting! I could not put it down!

FBI Agent Leigh Brody has a tough job ahead of her returning to the town that shunned her from events 20 years earlier that they believed her father was guilty of.... And boy is it a tough job! She is such a raw, real character that you feel empathy for her, and you cheer her on through every trial and tribulation she faces in this book. Twist after twist after twist! You think you have it figured out and BAM, another twist punches you in the face! I absolutely loved this book (I mean obviously right? You know, since I read it in one sitting and didn't even get up at all for the last 40% of the book)

Seriously, just read it! I think this may have taken the place of the best thriller I have read this year!

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing!
