This was a short and sweet manga about classmates Miyazen and Matsubayashi trying to draw closer to each other. At times they were pretty awkward, but those moments were cute and wholesome.
This is a really cute rom com manga. The characters are lovable and the chapters are really short. However, because the chapters are so short, you don't really get to know the characters and how they change and evolve. The scenes they have together are really cute but there's not a lot to them. The scenes are very simple. It may be what the author is going for and it may change in the next few volumes, but for now the characters relationship is very on the surface. Overall, it was still enjoyable.
This is reallly super cuteeee and quick to read. But it’s a really slow burn not a whole lot happened but my library has all 4 books so I will read them ^.^ for sure.
Miyazen and Matsubayashi are total opposites but they'd love to get to know each other! The story follows Miyazen, a upperclass girl, and Matsubayashi, a guy who has a bad reputation despite being a decent dude, and how they try to interact with each other to become friends. The teens constantly miscommunicate their intentions toward each other but start to become closer as they get to know one another.
The manga was super cute and would be great for teens. I thought the artwork was great; clean, easy to understand each panel, and appealing to the reader. I definitely would pick up more volumes of this in the future. 5/5 stars
Thank you so much to netgalley and kodansha comics for providing an arc in exchange for an honest review!
I loved this. Was so good.
As soon as I started reading I had a smile on my face.
It was so fun.
They make efforts for each other, but they don't always understand the other, which makes it real, but they still get closer. It's so sweet.
The chapters are short and super adorable, and the drawings are wonderful, expressing the characters' personalities and letting the reader understand their feelings.
And I just need to read the next volume. It was a blast.

This story is a very cute and fluffy high school romance! Matsubayashi is a former delinquent and Miyazen is the class "Princess". They appear as if they are total opposites, but actually have overlapping shared interests. This volume is very episodic. Each chapter is a short event or interaction between the main characters. It's all very cute, but it feels a little like I'm reading a manga version of newspaper short comics. There isn't really a plot except for both of the leads wanting to get closer to one another. The art style is very good. It's simplistic, but those few pages when the author goes out, their art style really shines.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!
This was absolutely adorable ❤️ I can't wait to continue reading their story and find out what happens.

Miss Miyazen Would Love to Get Closer to You 1 by Akitaka is one of my very favorite manga reads of last year. The story follows two high school classmates, one a rough and tumble looking delinquent, and the other a classy young lady. Both want to be friends with the other, but with such a large communication gap, will they ever see eye to eye?
This was such a charming, adorable, lovable, maddening, cavity-inducing story, and it is just the purest form of happiness. It is perfection. NO NOTES. Take my advice and read this quick, 4-volume series. You'll be glad you did.

It was a cute, fun and quick read, which I think I needed. The characters stole my heart within the first few pages. It was a new record for lovable characters. I loved seeing them get closer, even though it was a slow burn. I would love to see how their relationship develops!
We follow a boy and a girl who are viewed in two different lights. The girl is viewed as a princess because she is rich while the boy is viewed as a delinquent because of what school he came from. They both have one thing in common, they want to get to know the other better! As we watch these two interact each day and awkwardly get to know each other it is a very cute story with cute art. I can't wait to see where the story goes from here!
Super cute short manga read. Cute characters. Not an original plot and pacing was slow but still enjoyable.
This was such a sweet and cute manga that I really enjoyed it. I also really liked the characters.
I'm now very curious to see what happens next!
I give it 4 stars

Likes:
The table of content looked really nice. It was also good organised, so one could read easily where the next chapter will be and so on.
The characters are relatable as they are all-time nervous and can't thing that one actually has the same interest as the other.
The drawings are all beautiful, specially the ones who cover the whole page. The blush is on point, the eyes have so much expression and the hands all look perfect.
Dislikes:
Slow pacing + no originality. It was more character driven the story than plot driven, but even with that it was kinda slow. If I consider the whole book from the beginning to the end it would be an average book that everyone already knows of as there wasn't anything special that let this book stand out.
The ending. It wasn't anything for a reader to want to read more. Nothing like a cliffhanger or the climax of a plot. It wasn't exciting enough.

What to do for a higher rating:
A bit faster pace, more needs to happen; Not just them start talking more freely to eachother. The story also needs more originality, something which lets it stand out, from so many other romance manga that are character driven. The ending should definitely also have something more to it. Something that makes a reader think about the book longer, therefore wanting them to read the next one.
End note/Final thoughts:
Thank you for the advanced reader copy of Miss Miyazen Would Love to Get Closer to You 1 by Akitaka.

The art is cute, the characters are cute, but the plot is glacial slow. It's not quite the vignette style I dislike, but it is perilously close.

UDHDJDKSKZ WHAT A SWEET SHORT READ???
Please I'm so obsessed with this couple 😭 they are so adorable ,like this is the definition of a wholesome manga 😭😭💓
The shyness of the fmc AND the mmc regarding their feelings for each other??? The slow burn relationship arc as they go from crushes that awkwardly stare at each other to friends who STILL have OBVIOUS crushes??? I'm obsessed. Slice of life comics featuring cutesy couples like this will always be a (non guilty nor secret) pleasure of mine <3
Thank you so much to Kodansha comics and netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this manga! The reason I got this first volume was because of all the hype that the manga internet community brought, and I can definitely believe the hype here! I truly enjoy the slow burn friendship that is occurring in this and the artstyle is also adorable. I think my only issue is the panel style seems too much like a 4koma for me personally and it makes things difficult to follow sometimes. Because of these points, I have to give this manga a 4 out of 5 stars
