This story is about viscount Louis and Princess Mervat. When Louis meets Mervat at the Louvre in Paris he is instantly taken by her looks but also her knowledge, he finds her facinating but fears he will never see her again. When he later travels to Egypt for his friend's wedding he finds out that Mervat is the bride. With neither Mervat or her betrothed wanting to marry they come up with a plan to hopefully mean that they can all marry who they truly want to.
I really wanted to enjoy this book, and there were parts i really liked, however there were also parts which felt very much like a history lesson and when I'm reading I just want a nice easy read which at times this did not feel like. However if you want a romance sprinkled with history then this is the book for you.
I've just finished this Mills and Boon historical romance set in Egypt. It was a great read, I felt I learnt more about the history of Egypt and also what it was like to be living there at that time.
The story follows Louis, a viscount from England and Princess Mervat, of Egypt, a chance meeting at the Louvre in Paris and then a further meeting in Egypt, where the viscount has come to stay with his best friend from his days at Eton, the Prince Hussam. And who should also be there, Princess Mervat who to the viscount was the nameless beautiful woman he met at the Louvre.
I enjoyed this book, the background of the story, Egypt in the late 1800's and it's interesting characters. I would recommend to romance affiliates and anyone wanting to read more about Egypt in that time period.
An enjoyable tale to delve into on a wet, miserable weekend. Escapism that captures your attention from the first few pages!
