Ashley and her team are on a race to figure out what’s going on before more bodies turn up.
Death In Bacton Wood is book 3 in the DS Ashley Knight and Wow what a fab book this is. This is a gritty twisty thriller, but the storyline flowed easily, and I couldn’t put this down. At first thought that this was quite a long book. But it was so good I didn’t feel it so as I read this is 24 hours. I can’t wait for more of this fab series. 5 stars.
Really enjoyed this book. The characters are all well rounded and have their own issues. Characters likeable and story well written. It was a bit more gruesome than previous books in the series. Still had the who Dunnet and kept you guessing throughout. Looking forward to next in series
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion
There were lots of twists and turns in this novel and I wasn’t really sure who to trust – everyone seemed to be keeping secrets and lying about what they were up to. There were several red herrings and some misdirection that had me suspecting all kinds of things! I was trying to guess what was happening and kept changing my mind.
This book, part of Norfolk Murder series, is an engaging stand-alone mystery, which begins with a man who was buried alive managing to free himself. Before his assailant is discovered, more bodies turn up along the way. A complex plot keeps the reader guessing, though I would have enjoyed the book more if were about 25% shorter.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
Ashley Knight was just promoted and her next case is a man who was buried alive with no recollection of how or why he is buried. With gory details, murder, and tons of twists this was a great thriller that I couldn't put down. This is a series however it is the first book I've read in the series and I didn't feel lost or lacking information to make the story make sense.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC**
What an absolutely brilliant read! Gritty, gruesome and tense with so many twists this had me totally gripped from page one. It starts with a man finding himself buried in Bacton Wood with no idea of how he got there, who put him there and why. What follows is an investigation lead by DS Ashley Knight that definitely keeps them on their toes, especially when more bodies turn up. On top of this there appears to be a mole within the team….. Just as you think it’s all wrapped up there is another twist and then another one. This is a must read if you like a thriller that keeps you guessing until the end. I only wish I’d read Ross Greenwood’s books before!
For me this had the added bonus of knowing the area so well that I had no trouble at all of visualising where it was all happening. My daily journey to work featured more than once!!
Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.
A taut and gripping thriller about revenge the old fashioned way, when a family is brutally punished for its hidden criminal activities.
I liked the relationships and character development of the police team - very natural and realistic.
The deaths are a bit gruesome but had historic relevance.
What's next for the newly promoted Ashley Knight?
A man wakes up to find himself buried but thankfully manages to escape. His friend is then found missing. DS Ashleigh Knight and her team are left scratching their heads rather, and how did the father know about the man in hospital when he had no phone? The man is part of a powerful family something Hector knows all about but will his career now take a new direction? When there are more murders it is clear there is something big going on, but who is against these people and why?
This is a terrific series. They do stand alone but why miss out on other brilliant reads (all 5* from me). They are all wonderful easy reads and very much kept me between the pages each and every time. There are numerous plot twists and turns and the characters come across well. I learned something (thank you Ross)- what Pathetic Fallacy is, as well as some Roman and Greek mythology. It's an exciting read with lots of intrigue about family feuds , organised crime gangs and long fingers. A brilliant, highly entertaining read I highly recommend.
