Love the Dan Armstrong novels. Great writing and premise. Amazing characters. Page turner. Plenty of suspense to keep me guessing..Definitely looking forward to the next offering. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it
I can not get enough of Dan and Oscar series! Each one transports you to beautiful region in Italy with its delicious food, the stunning scenery and the friendly people along with a murder or two to keeps you intrigued!
This time Dan and Oscar have travelled to the Italian Riviera after a guest of a Naturist Retreat is found dead in the swimming pool.
There are many suspects and along with the local police, Dan is once again involved in helping to uncover the murder or murders, this time 'naked'!
Another great read ... can't wait for the next instalment!
In Which Dan Is Vulnerable..
Armstrong and Oscar are back in their seventh outing, this time a death at a private retreat on the Italian Riviera is calling them. With local police insisting that the death is accidental and his client insisting that it’s a murder, Dan has his work cut out - especially as his client is a former con he knows well. Dan is soon in for another shock, the last thing he expected the retreat to be was naturist, and is forced to reveal his….more vulnerable side! Another wholly enjoyable and entertaining instalment in this long running series with likeable and well crafted protagonists, a deftly drawn supporting cast, a perfect setting and a solid mystery at its heart.
I absolutely love this series featuring Dan Armstrong and his labrador, Oscar, and this latest instalment could well be my favourite. As the title suggests, Dan's next assignment takes him to the Italian Riviera, and although I've never been there myself, TA Williams’ descriptions did a wonderful job of taking me right there, allowing me to take in the scenery, taste the food and fully immerse myself in the life of the retreat.
We are now, unbelievably, at the seventh book in the series and I thought I'd seen everything that could possibly be thrown at Dan and Oscar, but alas no! Murder On The Italian Riviera is set in a naturist retreat. Initially, the requirement to “fit in” amongst the guests makes Dan feel a little self-conscious and I enjoyed seeing a more vulnerable side to him. The setting also means that we are introduced to a number of suspects, some of whom have quite colourful pasts. This gives the investigation a few different threads and I enjoyed following all the theories and trying to work out what had happened myself. I felt that there were more twists in this instalment than in previous ones and this helped me to stay on my toes until the very end.
I will end my review as I always do, by saying that I feel there is still much more to come from Dan and Oscar and I hope we will be back with them soon
Oooooohhh the food!!! Omg it sounds so yummy! Great read! I loved hearing about all the different cultures and of course the food! This book also had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, mystery, a fantastic who done it and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting!! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me! An ex-con… Private investigator Dan Armstrong is no stranger to working with criminals, but when he’s approached for help by Bianca Moretti, he’s on high alert. Bianca is intelligent and beautiful, and Dan likes her, but he also once sent her to prison… A suspicious death… Bianca explains that a guest has been found dead at her father’s luxurious and private retreat on the beautiful Italian Riviera. The police are sure the death is accidental, but Bianca is convinced the man’s been murdered. Dan’s sure he can get to the bottom of things…as long as Bianca is telling him the whole truth. A very revealing case! But when Dan arrives at the resort, he's in for a shock. He finds that the place is a naturist retreat, and everybody is walking around stark naked! Dan is determined to discover the truth, but this is going to mean revealing a whole lot more of himself than he expected!
I really enjoyed this one . I love the coziness of it and the setting was gorgeous and who doesn’t like a book with a dog on the cover . It was a good quick read
Another great addition to this series by TA Williams. Dan is called to the Italian Riviera to investigate the death of a resort guest at the request of someone Dan knew from his police days. The local police have done a preliminary investigation and ruled the death an accident. But, when Dan begins poking around, things just don't add up, especially when another body is discovered. Love the characters, especially Dan's special friend Oscar. As always, the setting sounds amazing and makes the story even more enjoyable.
Great series, and book. Recommend to all cozy mystery readers.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
