Knight of the Goddess is the last book in the Blood of a fae series by Briar Boleyn. It follows Morgan and Draven and friends on one last quest to destroy the holy grail, as well as Excalibur, and end the war between fae once and for all.

I loved this series and was so excited to read the conclusion but this book fell a bit flat for me. It felt like the big battle scenes and character deaths were all a little rushed and less impactful as they could have been, and scenes like their journey and travel felt like they dragged. There just seemed to be a major pacing issue throughout.

On the other hand, this book was full of plot twists and cleanly wrapped up the end of this story in such a beautiful and bittersweet way. I’m thrilled with the ending, but sad to be leaving this world behind.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys
- dark fantasy
- Magic
- Retellings
- Badass FMC
- Mythical creatures

And I can’t wait to read what the author comes out with next

I received a copy of Knight of the Goddess by Briar Boleyn from NetGalley. Knight of the Goddess is the fourth and final book of the Blood of the Fae Series by Briar Boleyn. This dark fantasy romance series with an Arthurian retelling twist with Fae has been an amazing ride so far. I loved reading the first three books – Queen of Roses, Court of Claws, and Empress of Fae and I couldn’t wait to delve into the final book. Knight of the Goddess picks up a few days after the events of the third book.
Morgan and Draven are together in Camelot after defeating Arthur. They have taken the responsibility of Medra, Morgan’s niece. Draven has immediately taken to her and that is given considering his past. There is finally peace in Pendrath because the final battle is looming. They know they need to destroy the Excalibur, the grail, and the spear to defeat their ultimate enemy, Morgan’s father. This book kind of reminds me of the first book as Morgan and Draven with a few of their friends set off on a quest to defeat the enemy. I can't discuss much about the plot because it has a lot of spoilers.
Briar Boleyn has given us a lot of happy and together Draven and Morgan in this book. This is the strongest Draven and Morgan’s relationship has been in the series. Their characters are at their peak with their physical capabilities too. We get to see Draven’s magic in its full form during the action scenes. Morgan has started to accept her powers but still is a little unsure about them. Morgan constantly feels guilty about the suffering of her people and her loved ones because of her father, who wants her to come back with him. The fae mythology of the series is also expanded in this book, giving many answers.
Knight of the Goddess by Briar Boleyn is a fitting end to the Blood of the Fae series. I have enjoyed reading this series. Blood of the Fae series is the first Fae book series I have read and I loved reading it.

Briar boleyn does it again! The third book in the series left us with (yet another) clif hanger and Knight of the goddess takes up the story with the same can't put down energy.

I can't say too much without giving away spoilers but if you liked the other books in this series you will not be disappointed!

Thank you starwater press and netgalley for the gifted arc.

Unfortunately, I dnfed the first book and will not be continuing the series at this time. I was so excited for this series after seeing the Goodreads ratings, but it’s not for me.

Great ending to a romantasy series that I have come to adore! I loved the angst, steam, banter, and flow between the characters to finish up the series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️

It’s bittersweet beginning a book you know is the last one of a series that you love. One part of you is ready for the characters to get their HEA (hopefully), while the other part wants the journey to continue forever and be a part of their world. Briar does not disappoint by bringing all the feelings into this book and keeping us hooked until the last word.

Ready to finally bring the evil to an end, Morgan, Draven, and their friends embark on the final part of their journey. The character development and word building in this book keeps the bar high from Briar. Immersed into this world, Briar writes beautiful details, gorgeous descriptions, and creates a world that just gets better and better.

Morgan has fully embraced the type of person and leader she wants to be. She wishes to be the exact opposite of those raised with and is determined to bring brighter days to Camelot and the surrounding lands. As her magical power grows, she is steadfast in using them for good only.
Her and Draven are amazing in this book as well! The spice is still perfection and the way they love each other is extraordinary. Draven is supportive of Morgan, fiercely proud of her, but knows when to step in to be a voice of reason or take control if needed.

Our beloved side characters continue to hold up their leaders and stand unwavering by their side. There was some plot twist with them I didn't see coming and was not ready for. I may have cried harder for our side characters than I did the leads. Happy endings were found, while heartbreaking endings were had too.

It is easy to see that Briar poured her soul into the final book, ensuring her characters and readers had the ending they all deserved. She had outdone herself in her writing book 4 and excited for the next chapter of her writing journey. She has grown as an author throughout this series and I am so glad I discovered her through this series.

As always review trigger warnings before reading.

Tropes:
🥀 True slow burn enemies to lovers romance with 🔥🔥🔥
🥀 Camelot but fae
🥀 A stabby, abused heroine coming into her powers
🥀 A dark and broody, protective, morally grey MMC

🥀 All the “touch her and die” / “who did this to you?”
🥀 Lancelot and Guinevere subplot... but make them queer!

This is the final book in this fantastic fantasy series. I’ve tried to make this review spoiler free!
I really enjoyed the authors writing style and found it flowed really well.
The world building is fantastic as with the other three books and it’s so descriptive I felt like I could see what was being described. The plot had so many twists and turns and I loved it! I love it when the plot twists are unexpected and i loved that we finally got some truths.
There were a few tears at the conclusion of this book and some of the deaths really hurt to read even when they needed to happened for the story.

Overall I definitely recommend this series, it’s so beautifully written and just an amazing read.
I’ll definitely be reading more from this author in the future!

Thank you to the Publisher, Author and Netgalley for an eARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I'm obsessed with everything Briar writes. I enjoyed her alter ego's historical romances, but Briar has turned me into a fan of the fantasy genre, or, more specifically, dark fantasy.

Book review 📚
Knight Of The Goddess by Briar Boleyn
⭐⭐⭐⭐

The final book in a 4-book series and was just as good as the rest. Although book 2 has my heart and nothing can beat it, the series overall was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed reading them all.

Briar has such a talent in her writing. Her prose, her descriptions and world building are absolutely breathtaking. I am in awe of anyone who gets to read this series for the first time.

The Blood of a Fae series is a great read for fans of Sarah J Maas- accessible for romantasy novices and pacing is easy to move through. Plenty of spice, romance, action, and high stakes. We'll written characters and chemistry. Overall an entertaining easy to read series with an intriguing world build and enough momentum to keep you reading

I DNF'd book 2 in this series as it wasn't holding my interest. I was given the whole series on netgalley so will leave reviews for all stating this now & I hope to return to the series at some point in the future & try again as there are some brilliant reviews for it on here & social media.

4 Stars
So much happens in this book! Wow what a wild ride this series has been. I have loved it all. I think books 1 and 2 were my favs but overall a 5 star series.

Thank you to Net Galley and Starwater press for the opportunity to read this book.

An interesting end to a decent romantasy series. I don't feel like this final book lived up to the three previous and it felt like it needed more. More development, less action packed maybe?
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this book in exchange for my honest option.

Thank you Netgalley & Starwater Press for the ARC of the final book in the retelling of Camelot.

I wasn't too sure what to anticipate of the last book as I found the second instalment somewhat of a lag to get through, but was pleasantly surprised that the third instalment was back to Book One in pace and development, so I definitely suggest anyone who feels similar with book two to not give up and read the final instalment, because you will not be disappointed by the plot or overall character growth...

Couldn't get into this one. I thought that since books 2 & 3 had such major writing improvements and growth, that book 4 would be the same.

This was a lot of fluff, and then when something plot wise happened it was brushed over. Just wasn't really feeling this one.

Thank you NetGalley and Starwater Press Publishing for my DRC.

I can’t believe this series is over! It was a fun journey
This book might be my least favorite but still I loved it and I loved the ending. I think I will be adding a new favorite author to my list.

Thanks again NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this series

The final book in the Blood of a Fae series delivers an epic and emotional journey, centering on Morgan Le Fay and Draven as they face an ancient evil threatening Camelot. Their quest to destroy three powerful artifacts—the grail, the sword, and the spear—is filled with magic, romance, and high-stakes adventure. While the story is compelling and the relationship between the main characters remains strong, this installment feels slightly less impactful than the previous books, with some moments lacking depth. Overall, it's a satisfying and fitting conclusion to the series, earning 4 out of 5 stars.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC! I was so glad I got to finish the series! This book was my least favorite of the series, but it focused more on the fighting and resulting climax of the impending war more than the character relationships which have been my favorite. Overall a satisfying ending to the series.

The start was pretty slow. Lots of court politics and whatnot right off the bat. Generally speaking, that is personally my least favorite part of stories, so to start out with so much was tough to get through. I also wasn’t sure about the introduction of a baby that Drayven is like obsessed with - though that came back to play way at the end, so I get it.

Around 25% in the action started to pick up, but in a war and battles way (another of my least favorite fantasy tropes in series - can’t I have a full fantasy book without an entire war needing to take place?)

I actually found Medra's chapters to be the most interesting. Morgan and crew spend a lot of time getting into battle after battle and fighting her siblings. I definitely just prefer the will they won't they tension between MCs and not the battle/war tension.

I really enjoyed the last 20% again when it was Morgan and Drayven alone in the Black Mountain. I understand that some time needed to pass to age Medra, but honestly everything else that happened in the beginning of the book did not do much to drive the plot. So much happened and was sort of explained in the final 20% that it easily could have been stretched out and a lot of the early stuff gone. I didn't care about the love story of Lancelet and Guinevere, or the random battles protecting a bunch of people we didn't know or care for. I get building character (Morgan is a just, kind person who takes care of those “beneath” her), but I feel like we already knew that.

If you are someone who loves a good fight sequence, you'd probably enjoy this, I just know that battles and war planning are my least favorite part of fantasy series and so this wasn't set up to be that successful for me.
