One hell of an ending for these amazing characters! The heartbreak! The twists! It was perfect!

With all the different characters involved in this story, I was worried that one ends wouldn't get tied up nicely, but it all came together in the end. I really enjoyed the multiple POVs. They added a lot of depth to the characters and made it that much more heart wrenching. The spice level of this book was perfect for me- enough to feel like a spicy book but not at all overtaking the plot.

Highly recommend this entire series to anyone who loves fae, retellings, found family, and epic fantasy romance. I think readers of Carissa Broadbent and SJM would enjoy this!

Book Review: Knight of the Goddess by Briar Boleyn

The Blood of a Fae series stands out as a remarkable reimagining of Arthurian legend, and its final installment, *Knight of the Goddess*, is a thrilling conclusion that lives up to its predecessors. While prior familiarity with the Arthurian tales may enrich the experience, it is not a prerequisite for enjoying this dark fae fantasy romance. With its captivating blend of shadow wielders, magical creatures, and a vibrant found family, this series offers an adventure that has something for everyone.

In *Knight of the Goddess*, the emotional stakes reach new heights as Morgan and Draven confront their greatest challenges yet: not only must they face the formidable Gorlois le Fay, Morgan’s father, but they also embark on an epic quest to destroy dangerous artifacts that threaten their world. This thrilling journey is filled with heart-wrenching moments and intense revelations that kept me eagerly turning the pages. My emotions were a whirlwind as I experienced joy, sorrow, excitement, and fear for the characters I had come to love over the series.

The storytelling shines through a diverse range of perspectives. The reader gets intimate glimpses into the thoughts and struggles of not only Morgan and Draven but also other key characters, adding depth to the narrative and enhancing the reader's emotional investment. Their found family dynamic is beautifully portrayed, illustrating the strength of their bonds and highlighting moments of connection and reconciliation that add to the emotional weight of the story.

The romance between Morgan and Draven remains a central pillar of the series, and their steadfast love is illustrated amid turmoil and adventure. The inclusion of characters like Nightclaw, Sunstrike, and the complex Ursidaur enriches the narrative and underscores the importance of loyalty and friendship, both among fae and humans alike.

What truly sets *Knight of the Goddess* apart are the stunning twists and revelations that unfold throughout the story. Just when you think you have it all figured out, the plot takes unexpected turns, revealing hidden identities and truths that will leave you shocked and exhilarated.

In summary, *Knight of the Goddess* is a fitting conclusion to the Blood of a Fae series, filled with adventure, romance, and powerful revelations. If you're ready for a tale of love, sacrifice, and the enduring fight for a better world, this book will surely leave a lasting impression. Highly recommended for fans of dark fantasy and anyone who enjoys a masterful retelling steeped in magic and intrigue.

I'm so sad this story is over but the end was so satisfying. This was an amazing series and will probably re read it all over again once I come to terms with it being over. The romance had me giggling and kicking my feet. It felt like this was such a well planned ending and it was so fulfilling. I cannot wait for what you do next but this series will have a special place for me

This is the fourth and final installment of the Blood of Fae series, which is an Arthurian retelling with a Fae twist. At this point, most of the Arthurian retelling is behind us and we are mostly in the dark fantasy portion.

The characters have gone through so much development and growth throughly the previous books, but this book is where the entire cast of characters truly shine. We see the strengths and faults of each character as they face stressful situations. Morgan definitely went though the most change throughout the series all while staying true to herself. We get introduced to more of her family with quite a few surprises along the way. In the end, she's the same Morgan we came to love in the first book, just stronger and wiser. Briar Boleyn did a fantastic job with world building. I truly felt like I was on the journey with the characters as they traveled into Rheged.

If Briar Boleyn continues forward with any of the characters, I would love to see a spin-off tale focusing on Guinevere and Lancelet. We are left with a few unanswered questions regarding their story and I would love to see how the go forward in the future.

Overall, I really enjoyed this series. It was bittersweet to finish this book knowing it concludes the series, but I'm grateful for the experience of reading this story and living through Draven and Morgan.

I would highly recommend this series for anyone that are fans of SJM, Arthurian retellings, fantasy with a side of spice, or dark fantasy.

A huge thank you to Netgally, Briar Boleyn, and the publisher for allowing me the opportunity to read the ARCs to this series.

This was my favourite of the 4 books as the pacing felt better for me, we also don’t have so much miscommunication anymore and everyone is a team again. The authors descriptions of places and things was good and helped me picture their journey and how the landscape changes throughout on their way into Rheged.

What I liked: I liked the reveal about the goddesses and finding out who/what they were, from 85% in was where everything got really interesting. I also liked meeting some of Morgan’s other brothers and sisters and finding about their powers, whilst seeing Morgan become the badass I wanted her to be.

What I didn’t like so much: there are some mysteries left unexplained, like Gienevere’s shielding and why she was drained, that I’d have liked to learn more about. The side characters are also a bit lost in this book - it felt like we focused more on Hawl and his cooking whereas I wanted more chapters with Crescent and Medra than we get. The action at the very end felt a little lacking and short, I’d have liked less focus on the journey within the black mountain and more time in the cloud palace. Medra’s story felt anticlimactic as we only learn so can turn people to ash with a look and suddenly she just jumps on Gorlois and goes boom? A little underwhelming of an ending.

Overall a good conclusion to the series, the reveals at the end link back to Easter eggs left in the previous 3 books and it feels mostly rounded out. Some parts of the story were a little lacking or long for me so I did lose interest in some bits. I feel like it could have been a trilogy and then I’d have been more engaged as it felt like there was a lot of “middle section” in each of the books. Another 3.5⭐️ rounded up to 4 for NetGalley and Goodreads.

Knight of the Goddess by Briar Boleyn is a spellbinding conclusion to the Blood of a Fae series that left me both thrilled and emotional. The journey of Morgan le Fay and Draven reaches its peak in this final installment, as they face their greatest challenges yet.

The story picks up with Morgan and Draven on a desperate mission to stop the dark fae Morgana from unleashing an ancient evil that threatens to destroy their world. Their journey is fraught with danger, betrayal, and heart-wrenching choices. I was particularly captivated by the depth of Morgan’s character as she grapples with her dual nature, torn between her human heart and fae heritage.

One of the most gripping moments is when Morgan is forced to confront her past and the betrayal by her own sister, Morgana. This confrontation is intense and emotionally charged, as Morgan must choose between saving her sister or stopping her to save the world. The stakes feel incredibly high, and the tension is palpable.

Draven, ever the loyal and fierce warrior, stands by Morgan’s side through it all. His unwavering support and love for Morgan add a deeply romantic element to the story. Their relationship is tested to the limit, especially when Draven is mortally wounded in a battle against Morgana’s forces. Morgan’s desperate attempts to save him using her fae magic is a powerful scene that highlights their bond.

The climactic battle against Morgana is both epic and heartbreaking. Morgan’s ultimate decision to sacrifice her own life to bind the ancient evil and save the world is a poignant and heroic moment. The scene where she bids farewell to Draven, entrusting him with the future of their people, brought tears to my eyes.

The ending is bittersweet, with Draven mourning the loss of Morgan but also determined to honor her legacy. The epilogue hints at a future where Draven and their allies rebuild their world, inspired by Morgan’s sacrifice and strength.

Knight of the Goddess is a beautifully crafted tale of love, sacrifice, and redemption. Briar Boleyn delivers a satisfying conclusion that ties up the series' loose ends while leaving a lasting impact. This book is a must-read for fans of dark fantasy and romance, offering a perfect blend of magic, danger, and heartfelt emotion. If you’ve followed the Blood of a Fae series, this final installment will stay with you long after the last page.

Sadly for me, this is the weakest book of the series.

I didn't feel connected to any of the characters, even the ones we lost! Some of the decisions made did not make sense and it was a bit of a boring read with an underwhelming ending. There were a few threads that were never closed, some things that seemed important in the previous books never really came to anything and it just felt off. Which is a shame because I did enjoy the first two books.

There is definitely potential for other readers to absolutely adore this series, however, it's not one for me.

This was such a good series! I'm actually genuinely sad to be finished.

I don't want to say too much for fear of giving anything away, so I'll just say that if you're craving more romantasy in your life, you NEED to check out this series. The perfect blend of Arthurian legend & fae, this series has it all--spice, politics, magic, legends, friends, family, found family, snark, drama, adventure...you get the idea.

I will say that even though I think this book was the most moving and heartfelt of the series, it was probably my least favorite. I enjoyed seeing how the series ended, and Briar Boleyn's imagination clearly knows no bounds, but I wish she had explained a little more about the whole gods/goddesses thing with Morgan and her father. I felt like I was mostly grasping it, but I'll admit I had trouble wrapping my head around it.

Overall though, I really enjoyed this series, and I had a great time reading it. It provided a much-needed escape for me, and I actually think this series is what helped me out of my reading slump. I loved this series so much that I'm hoping to buy physical copies for my shelves so that I can dive back into this world whenever I'm in the mood. I cannot recommend this series enough for romantasy fans!

The story follows the journey of a brave knight who is sworn to protect a powerful goddess, navigating the complexities of duty, loyalty, and forbidden love. Boleyn's writing is rich and descriptive, bringing the fantastical setting to life with vivid imagery and intricate world-building. The characters are well-developed, each with their own motivations and secrets, making for a gripping and unpredictable narrative. The blend of action, political intrigue, and emotional depth ensures that "Knight of the Goddess" is a compelling read for fans of epic fantasy and romantic adventures.

Thank you to NetGalley, Starwater Press, and Briar Boleyn for an eARC of this book.

This was a great finale to this series. It had a little bit of everything - battles, romance, quests, and some great twists at the end! This world was complex without being overwhelming and I enjoyed this series a whole. Definitely would recommend for anyone who enjoys the romantasy genre.

NOW THIS is how you finish a series! Bravo! All of my questions answered, resolution on every part needed. And still incredible story! Often times a last book will either leave you with questions unanswered OR they answered them and finish it well but it’s boring.

This was a great ending to this series! I am so happy with how it ended and the growth the main characters had throughout. This series will always hold a special pace in my heart and I cannot wait to see what Briar writes next! She is an auto buy author for me now

This book wrapped up the series but unfortunately the ending and the big character deaths just didn’t do it for me. It felt like a bit of a cop out after such a huge build up over the first three books and for me, it just didn’t feel like the series was rounded off nicely in the way I expected.

My thoughts on this book are kind of all over the place because a lot happens. The first, and most pressing in my mind is that Crescent deserved better. The loss this poor man has to endure in this book is cruel for someone who is normally so bright of spirit. By the end, I just wanted to give him the biggest hug.

Draven, too. That man doesn't let himself love many people. And he shouldn't have to say goodbye to so many of them by the end of this. (Read: Be careful who you, as the reader, let yourself love. Because there's a good chance you'll be heartbroken by the end.)

As for Morgan. Her biological family can jump off a mountain. Nearly all of them were seriously awful. However, with that being the case, I did really enjoy watching her tear them down one by one. This queen has it all.

Now, I think the biggest hold up for me at this stage of the series was Medra. Her anger, I understood. And I get how she related to the prophecy. But the rapid growing... I almost would have preferred for the prophecy to be referring to Morgan through some twist or forgotten line. There just wasn't enough time for me to really connect with this new character in the fourth book and then care as much as I knew I should by time the prophecy comes to fruition. But thank god for Odessa. I've liked her and her bristly nature from the start. When she refused to let Medra push her away and continued to show her only patience and love, I truly adored her.

I hate to say this, but while the rest of the book, and series over all, was exciting and a fun twist on a retelling, the ending felt... less than what I hoped for? Though, I'm not entirely sure what that was. Morgan, Draven, and company had bigger fights against bandits. Then, when they get to the big, bad, this new person shows up, things go down, and poof. It's done. And then Morgan has to sacrifice more and do what she's never wanted, which I hate for her, even if I understand the motivations behind it.

I also desperately wanted an epilogue. Something where it shows Morgan and Draven free of those aforementioned obligations. Where they're free to live. To love. Maybe to create their own kind of family, however that may look.

I liked this book. And this series as a whole. There were some areas that left me wanting, but all the best bits were there.

Having been an ARC reader since book 1, I was not wanting to finish this book since it's the last of the series but l'm so glad I did! I have loved every single book, while this one may have been my least favorite because it just seemed rushed to me, it still exceeded my expectations and I will forever recommend the whole Blood of a Fae series. Briar Boleyn writes beautifully and I love her character and world building in every book. I cannot wait to read her next series!

Can’t believe I’ve finished the series! There’s so much that goes on in every book and tons to enjoy. I’ll try not to spoil but as this is the fourth book in the series, bit difficult not to. A lot of the overall plot points come together and are finalised and we also have some new ones being introduced. Boleyn shines in balancing the new and old plot points well, I wasn’t confused with any of them. She’s also quite strong in forging relationships and the characters that come with them. They’re well-written, likeable, I want to root for them to achieve their goals. The villains, too, are quite well-written and complex. I like having a good villain (not like good deeds/hearted good, you know what I mean).

Morgan and Draven have been though a lot and they still continue to go through a lot! Can’t they catch a break? Let them just relax, watch a play together, just sleep for most of the day rather than having to put our fires and swing swords constantly. But, even though they were hounded by literally everything and everyone against them they still managed to have their happy and sweet moments! I’ve loved them together from the first book (Enemies-to-lovers, need I say more?) I love that they rely on each other so easily. They’re connected to each other, know the others’ strengths and weaknesses. Able to step in and help wherever needs be.

Plus, I’m always up for a man who loves a strong woman. Draven’s been like that from the first book – oh, Morgan’s holding a sword? Draven’s basically got heart eyes. He’s more of an ‘alpha male’ type character (and mostly those don’t want their female love interests to be equal in strength, or even stronger) and he isn’t upset. Which made me like him more.

There’s a lot in this book, just like the rest of the series so while I want to recommend it to a lot of people; it definitely can get confusing quite often. But there are readers (me, most of the time) who like confusing books so it works!

A satisfying conclusion to the Blood of the Fae series. The confrontation readers have been awaiting arrives in the last fourth of this novel and it does not disappoint. It would be a shame to ruin this series by saying more.

Thank you Saltwater Press and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this arc in return for an honest review.
