Three stars because I'm glad this series has ended. If you look at my reviews for the last two books you'll know my feelings on this one. The ending seemed like it was fast forwarded and I was happy for it. Not a fan of this book or the two preceding ones. Loved the first book though and I still stand by my review of it. I wish Briar Boleyn all the best going forward!

THIS IS THE LAST BOOK !

As I’ve previously said it, I really enjoyed Briar Boleyn’s world building, and it went beyond the world of Camelot as I initially thought. A lot of plot twists (many, a little too many at the end ?) and I did feel as if some of them were rushed. Some plot twists were a little predictable, some of them not at all !

I’m usually critical of authors not ever killing off side characters, and it tends to annoy me, well brace yourself, this is not the case here.

I felt that after all this effort, Medra being the one to sacrifice herself was not it. I mean, it fits the storyline, and it would have been « weird » (don’t hate me please) to have a one-year-old being an adult amongst them. I felt that it was a little « easy » way out for her to be the one to make the ultimate sacrifice and to have Draven and Morgan live on. I would have liked Medra to be more fleshed out too, her POVs were too short, and we weren’t able to connect on an emotional level as much, especially due to all the anger issues.


I previously commented on enjoying Morgan’s growth, but I did feel like she regressed in this last book, when she was so caught up in her own grief that she was unable to see how much pain others were in.

I really enjoyed the series, but this last book sometimes felt too long and sometimes too short. I had a bit of a hard time finishing it compared to the previous books. Nonetheless, I would totally recommend this book, it’s different from the previous fantasy I’ve read, and I really enjoyed the retelling of Camelot even if we strayed from it quite a bit.

I would have loved to know more about the Fae and the Siabra, maybe for another book !

This is a fun “popcorn” read series. I’m interested in continuing on and seeing what else the author writes.

What can I say?
I had hoarded and kept the final book, as I just didn't want to leave the world behind.
With a final book in a series I had steeled myself for some heartbreak, but wow! It was a wild ride, fun, fast and bittersweet.

Morgans growth throughout the series was lovely to watch and it was nice to see a FMC who is initially sheltered grown into a woman who isn't expecting to be rescued and can stand toe to toe with the MMC.
The changing chapters really added depth to the story, enriching it with Medra and Dravens pov.
It was a book of intense battles, love and heartbreak.
I'm gutted I'm leaving Eskira behind, and I'm hoping the characters appear in some future books.

Absolute must read for any Romantasy readers, who doesn't love a complete Camelot retelling with Fae thrown in?

I just finished Knight of the Goddess, the final book in the Blood of a Fae series, and it was an amazing ending! The tension, the quests, and the character growth were all spot on.

Morgan, her mate, and their friends are on a mission to find important artifacts to stop a huge disaster. The journey is full of surprises and shocking truths about their pasts. Each twist kept me glued to the pages.

The characters have grown so much. Morgan especially found new strengths and really came into her own. The bond between her and Draven, along with their friends, added so much depth to the story.

The world-building is incredible, bringing even more detail and richness than before. The mix of action, emotion, and lore is perfect, making the story both exciting and touching.

While it’s sad to say goodbye to these characters and their world, this book left me completely satisfied. The themes of eternal love, found family, and true friendship were beautifully done.

Now this is a conclusion to an epic story! I must admit, there were many things in this book I did not see coming. And, to fit along with the other 3 books in the series, many deaths.

This series is a GREAT introduction for anyone wanting to get into fantasy!

🚨Spoilers throughout!🚨

The story begins in Camelot with Draven and Morgan caring for Orcades’ daughter, Medra, who is just an infant at the time. She develops at an unusual rate, which is our first clue from the start that she is not merely fae. Despite their wishes, Morgan and Draven must leave Medra in order to save Eskira from Gorlois le Fay (as we later learn, Perun).

The adventure the pair goes on brings a sweet reminder to the first book, and really ties everything together in my opinion. They travel with their close friends to the Black Mountain, and attacks and battles happen along the way, with Gawain being killed by one of Morgan’s sisters.

During this time, Medra is growing and getting into “trouble”, pushing everyone away but Odessa. When Perun sends one of his daughters to take Medra away, Odessa is slain, along with others in the castle.

Can we take a second to just grieve for Crescent, who lost both his sister and his husband? My heart 💔

When Morgan and Draven finally reach the mountain, they sneak off and leave the rest of the group, traveling for days in the mountain with no direction, other than the gauntlet. The gauntlet is destroyed by flame, and NIGHTCLAW DIES. I saw it coming and I still was not ready for it. Once again, my heart 💔

I must admit, the entire procession of events with Perun and Vela was very exciting, and there were many things I did not guess throughout the series. Gorlois le Fay is Perun, god of war. Morgan is Marzanna, goddess of death. Draven is Khor (what he does slips from me). I assumed they were gods with how much it is hinted in this book, but I wasn’t sure if they were the gods mentioned throughout the series or not. Also, can we just… Draven is the most powerful fae ever besides her father? Woooosh 🤭

BUT. The one element I truly never saw was that Medra is the spear. I never guessed it, and it was shocking to see. It was heartbreaking that a young woman had to sacrifice herself to keep the world from the wrath of a vengeful god.

And then the Nightclaw and Sunstrike cub at the end? Thanks for a little bit of hope, Ms. Boleyn.

This book really tied just about everything together. I am still saddened by the fact that the Siabra are unable to have children - I would’ve liked to see more mention of that in this story.

May we all take a moment for the many, many loved characters that our beloved author, Briar Boleyn, ruthlessly killed off throughout this series. RIP.

Knight of the Goddess is the final book in the Blood of a Fae series. It picks up after the ending of Empress of Fae, back in Pendrath, where Morgan is learning new things about her family and where she comes from. I think Knight of the Goddess was my least favourite of the series, unfortunately, A lot of the major plot twists were not very well explained or foreshadowed, leading to the feeling that it wasn't the same story I had started off reading. Medra's plotline sort of felt like Renesmee from Twilight in a bad way. However, I do think Briar Boleyn's storytelling ability manages to hold together a lot of elements I was less than thrilled with and make it into a coherent whole. I think if a reader enjoyed the series all along there is still a lot going for this book, lots of steamy scenes and found family. Worth checking out!

Want to know how much I’ve enjoyed this series? I read the books again twice. It’s not often I have a series that is dang near perfection page after page. I’m so happy to have experienced this entire world and watch everything unfold book after book.
This is 5 stars because I have personally recommended this series every time someone wants fantasy romance recommendations.

You won’t regret picking up this series! It’ll have you hooked from the first chapter. If you love fantasy and being immersed in a world then this is for you!

Right to the very end I was waiting on Nightclaw to appear, battered and worn but alive. It wasn’t meant to be though. I was so enthralled in this series that I had to take breaks from the intensity. I love the character development and suspense throughout. Each storyline was wrapped up nicely which gave us readers closure.

I truly did not want this series to end... I put off reading this last installment for as long as my curiosity would allow me to... about 3 days!
I am so glad that I read it, and it is not often that I leave a series happy with how and where everyone ended up, usually, there is at least 1 character I want justice for, but not in this case... it's perfection on a page! My only regret, the series is over!
Now to add the whole series to my kindle so I can relive it again and again and again... thank you Briar for this wonderful world you created for us to enjoy.

This took me so long to finish.... but not for any negative reasons.

You see, Briar's writing is so good that this series stole part of my soul and has kept it in its pages. I flatly refused to finish this book because I didnt want their story to end.

I'm obsesswd with Draven, and this unique Arthurian retelling had twists and turns, heartache and happiness, and most of all, the best romance adventure.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this series forever.

Oh this final book… It’s not often I finish a series really happy with where everyone ended up. Briar Boleyn’s writing flows through effortlessly and keeps the action and character building balanced really well. I loved that even the main characters kept growing through to the end. I also loved that even in the final battle there were plot twists that kept me guessing. There was a better balance in Draven and Morgan's relationship, which made me happy once it was clear they were end game. Over all this a solid way to finish out a lovely, readable series.

Briar Boleyn...you have my heart! I just finished the final book and I am still shooked of this amazinghas masterpiece! This series has everything a romantasy lover needs like bonded mates, a strong female protagonist, and a supportive male lead. I repeat myself, but it's a must read for fans of ACOTAR, Fourth Wing and Blood and Ash. The world building ist outstanding, the Plot twists are jaw dropping and kept me hooked! I don't know how many times I gasped out loud. I had to take a few minutes to take a deep breath after finishing. This series is now one of my all time favourites!

I first started reading this series before I knew it was on Netgalley and I was fully enthralled then. These characters have had a really nice character growth and I am so happy to have read them. This story ends with constant battles, definitions of love, and magic galore. This was such a journey and I truly had fun with it.

Was it perfect? No. But I found myself being okay with that and I overall enjoyed it and had fun. The ending had so many bittersweet moments. I am so curious to see if the author decides to do more with this world. There is a LOT of potential. This story has so many elements that Romantasy lovers will enjoy.

I look forward to reading more books by this author. If you like Sarah J Maas, Lady of Darkness, and Camelot retellings, this is the series for you! Now that I am done the series, I do plan to purchase in physical copies!

I’ve found it very difficult to find a book series that comes close to ACOTAR. But this series is up there for me. Character development was excellent from book 1, with spice that doesn’t sacrifice the story and the character building. Paced well so I never wanted to put it down!

This author is one on my to buy list now!
