I have never read anything by Helen Rolfe before but I really enjoyed this book.
I was hooked from the first chapter, I loved the setting of the story and the details of the air ambulance call outs were really interesting and added to the story.
Maya is a pilot for the air ambulance and I found her a likeable character and i loved how her relationship with Noah progressed.
I enjoyed the majority of the characters in this book and how we began to see more of their back stories such as Mayas father and how Noah grew as a father.
The ending was perfect and this book was much more than just a bog standard romance book.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Thanks to NetGalley , Helen Rolfe and Boldwood Books for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
I didn’t think I’d enjoy this novel as much as I did but I absolutely loved it. It took me a little while to get into it but after that I was completely hooked.
I loved reading the story from both Maya and Noah’s point of view and was so happy with how things turned out for them in the end. Especially with Noah and Eva.
It was a heartwarming, infectious story and I enjoyed every page. Will definitely be looking out for more by this author in future.
I loved reading Maya and Noah’s story! I was rooting for Maya the entire time. This book was written so well and I couldn’t put it down. I know a paramedic helicopter pilot in real life so it was fun to read more about what that experience is like. Fabulous read!
From the very first moment I saw this on the authors page I knew I had to read it even without reading the outline so to get access to it early I was thrilled.
I love anything medical but I've never read anything with a air ambulance crew involved but I challenge you not to love The Skylarks. Book one in this will be fab series tells the story of Maya and Noah. Maya she's a girl who isn't scared of going after her dreams but with a jerk of a ex husband who the words emotional blackmailer seems to sum this jerk up. Can she finally find her happy ever after?
Noah on the other hand world has been turned upside down. I loved how Noah changes and grows in this book and how he is a great dad to little Eva. But when trouble comes calling, can he keep the little girl he loves and win the heart of a certain helicopter pilot?
This is a new series I'll be keeping an eye out for additional books but also Helen has a brand new fan in me.
Wow! What a book! I couldn't read it fast enough. The story telling and pace were absolute magic! There's something about the way the author writes that makes the words flow easily, and the pages turn themselves!
Helen Rolfe is a brilliant writer, her books are so descriptive they pull you in and you become part of all the characters story.
This book follows the story of Maya and the team she works with, who are also like family. Maya works as a pilot with The Skylarks, Air Ambulance. Maya has a secret in her past she is hiding, and has complicated relationships with her ex husband and Father. Can she share her secret and move on to start the life she deserves? Maya is a wonderful character who you root for throughout the book.
A great read
A great read. Could not put it down. I loved following Maya who worked for the air ambulance. Her X was a piece of work. So many twists to the story and Noah oh my . He joined Maya’s team and I loved his porch. I would loved to have sat on it on a summers evening His story was amazing and there were so many stories in one book. Kept you gripped and I read in one go. Read it, no spoilers from me.
