've been working on submitting some older reviews of the titles on my reading list, and this one caught my attention. I no longer have access to the title and too much time has passed for me to recall precise details, but this is what stood out in my memory. Overall, I found it to be a decent read. The character development is well-executed, giving the story depth and making the characters relatable. The pacing of the narrative is steady, keeping me engaged without feeling rushed or drawn out. While it may not be a standout favorite, it's a solid book that I'm glad to add to my library

For those with a penchant for atmospheric Victorian crime, then this could well be for you. Could Jack the Ripper have escaped to New York City (escape to parts unknown was one theory) - with a series of strikingly similar murders taking place, the theory has been broached. Add in a dash of gang turf wars, a dogged policeman, an eccentric Englishman, and you have the makings of a new series.
Looking forward to the next instalment.
