Another amazing story. I absolutely loved this story from beginning to end. The whole concept was a delight and the descriptions were fabulous. I wish there was an 'Ever After Street' in real life because I'd be visiting it in a heartbeat. Just like every other Jaimie Admans book I have read, this left me with a smile on my face when I turned the last page.
This is a series that keeps on giving and at book three, Admans delivers another fabulous read that I could immerse myself into from the very beginning. I am absolutely loving how each story has such a different plot and characters, as well as the magic of the setting itself, Ever After Street.
We have had Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and this time it is the turn of Alice in her Wonderland Teapot café where Cleo is turning her hand to fulfilling her dream. I’ve always got a sweet tooth for a café-based, baking-based story so was delighted to see this was the direction Admans takes this plot. However, for Cleo, the baking side is a bit of a problem: since losing her mother, grandmother and fiancé, she has a “baking block” where everything she tries to cook is inedible and just worthy of the bin. How can she run a café with homemade goods if she can’t product the baked goodies?
I was really curious to see how Cleo would be able to keep the business running. Bram’s character is delightful and I loved how he and Cleo make a great team of Alice and the Mad Hatter. The décor of the café was on point and you felt like you were entering Wonderland with Cleo and Bram’s ideas. When homemade cakes start being whipped up, I could not help but get itchy hands, wanting to turn to my own mixer and recipe book. I definitely felt inspired to bake as we saw Cleo’s journey to baking, kitchen goddess eventually come together.
Like the rest of the books in the series, the male lead has a hidden side and I liked how Admans gradually reveals Bram’s layers. Whilst he might seem an absolute nutjob for a Mad Hatter (and therefore a perfect fit for the role), it is evident that this is just a mask to his true character. And when the Queen of Hearts also starts working with Cleo and Bram, this adds an additional strain to the “dream team”, particularly when bakes appear to be spoiled by mysterious gremlins, keen on destroying Cleo’s business before it has even begun.
I liked seeing the community of Ever After Street once again come together in times of a crisis. You definitely don’t need to have read the other books in the series to appreciate the background characters, but I did enjoy seeing some familiar faces, as well as trying to pick who will be the main feature of the next book. (Which is absolutely near the top of my teetering book pile!)
Picking up this series, you can guarantee feelings of warmth, community and good cheer. It was a delight to read and I think this is certainly a series that keeps on giving. Bring on the next one!
With thanks to Boldwood books and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
What a wonderful story so warm and inviting I just devoured this in one sitting. Perfect for a winter's day curled up in the warm. Lovely characters. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
Jaimie Admans writes the most romantic stories I have ever read and I find myself always falling in love with the characters as well, they are so lovely!
Cleo talks her way into opening a tea shop - not mentioning that she seems to have lost her ability to bake! Whether she likes it or not, she is given an employee, the Mad Hatter, aka Bram, who lights up any room with his magical abilities. However, there are hidden depths to Bram and as the two of them get to know each other better, it is clear that they need each other.
Very romantic tale, but in a realistic way, which I always appreciate.
5 stars from me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books.
I am a big fan of this author. I love her feel good romances and this one with a touch of fairytale magic didn't dissapoint. There is some repetitive elements with the history of how the 2 main characters have grown up but I don't feel this distracted from the storyline and I liked hearing more about Ever after street. Another great easy ajd heart warming read.
As always Jaimie’s book was food for the soul. What a wonderful pair to follow through such a heartwarming plot. I adored the elements of magic, of the loss of a beloved skill which needed to be recovered, and the street once again banding together to support one of their own. I hope this series long continues.
Another enjoyable read from the Ever After Street series. I have to be honest and say it’s not my favourite of the books so far; I found all the self pity a little tedious at times. I’m also a bit confused as to where Tabby just disappeared to about halfway through to book. Hopefully I’ll find the next instalment, a Christmassy one, more enjoyable.
I found the book quite repetitive at times, so much so that I had to skip through quite a bit of it. A lot of it is about how they’ve been treated in life, which whilst I understand that it just seemed to go on a bit.
However having said that it was an enjoyable book, I liked the Wonderland themed teashop and again loved the community feel of Ever After Street.
Hope there’s more to come in the series!
Such a delightful instalment to the Ever After Series.
Cleo is opening her dream cafe, and Bram offers her some much needed help.
Of course it’s not going to run smoothly! But I have a hunch there’ll be a happy ending!
I always love books by this author as they are always so warmhearted but whimsical at the same time. Great book, great characters and great to be back in Ever after Street what more can I say!
I just adored A Wonderland Wish on Ever After Street by Jaimie Admans I was once again hooked by returning to Ever After Street. Read in one sitting I could not put it down. This book is a fairy tale for grown ups, where dreams come true and a fantastic read. You will struggle to put this book down.
Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.
Another great book from the ever after street series.
Perfection!
Following the story of Cleo's Alice in wonderland inspired cafe, we are once again brought back into a delightful world of familiar characters and heart-warming moments.
A gorgeous read.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publishing houise and the author for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of this book in return for a review based upon my honest opinion.
Another lovely romp through Ever After Street; it's like meeting up with old firends. On this amazing street, based on fairy tales, what could be better than the newest addition, the Wonderland Teapot. Cleo needs a win, she is lost and wonders if she will ever get her life together. Her friend, Marnie convinces her to apply to take over the local tearoom, which is Cleo's dream, as her grandmother had a tearoom when she was a girl. Cleo wants to have an Alice in Wonderland theme and shows up to the interview with cupcakes that she bought at a bakery onthe way. Cleo would love to have baked something herself but since she lives in a caravan in Marnie's driveway, she doesn't have access to an actual kitchen and also she has lost the ability to bake somehow. The interviewers love her idea and are mistakenly led to believe Cleo made the cupcakes, so they offer her a trial run.
On Cleo's first day of business the Mad Hatter shows up, apparently hired by management to assist her. Cleo and Bram almost instantly hit it off and as they get closer, Cleo is starting to see her dream come to fruition. Bram is helping Cleo find her love of baking again. Suddenly there are some acts of sabotage and Cleo doesn't know who to blame, could it be Tabby her newest unwanted employee or is iot actually Bram.
I love the way this author writes her books, they always leave you with a smile and are a great break from the usual books that I read.
Jaimie Admans’ A Wonderland Wish on Ever After Street is pure enchantment from beginning to end!
Opening her own teashop in memory of her beloved gran is Cleo Jordan’s greatest wish. When she accidentally fools the interview board into thinking that she’s a brilliant baker, Cleo is offered a prime spot in Ever After Street and although she is delighted, she is apprehensive because she has completely lost her love of baking. Is her dream over before it’s even begun? Stepping into The Wonderland Teapot is everything she has always wanted, but will she find her love of baking again? Or is her dream about to go up in smoke?
A chance encounter with local magician Bram changes everything for Cleo. Loved by everyone, he injects a little bit of magic and sparkle into the teashop – and into her life as well. A friendship between the two of them quickly develops yet Cleo isn’t sure whether she should put all of her trust in him – especially as things have started going awry at the teashop! Who is sabotaging Cleo? And could the culprit be even closer than Cleo initially thought?
As Cleo’s dreams look set to disintegrate, can she heal from her past and learn to trust again? Or has she lost her heart already only to have it broken again in a million tiny pieces?
A magical romantic read that is a joy to curl up with, A Wonderland Wish on Ever After Street by Jaimie Admans is a delightful, charming and tender tale about letting go of the past, making your dreams come true and falling in love that will make you smile and tug at your heartstrings. With lovely characters that leap off the pages, sparkling humour and touching romance, escape between the pages of A Wonderland Wish on Ever After Street by Jaimie Admans – you will certainly not regret it!
This is book 3 in the Ever After Street series which can be read as stand alone but does have recurring characters from the previous 2 books.
I love the way the author writes. She is so descriptive and the images of Cleo's tearoom are amazing. Her characters are warm, funny and really relatable. I adored Bram and my heart went out to him.
As with the last book, I thought this would be a lighthearted read, which it was, but it also had much more depth.
Both Cleo and Bram have issues from their past (and present) which need addressed if their relationship is to succeed. I felt this was dealt with well and made for a few emotional moments.
Another great read and I'm definitely looking forward to the next in the series.
Thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Books for my copy in exchange for my honest opinion which I'm leaving voluntarily.
This was another fantastic book by Jaimie Admans. Cleo want to open a Wonderland cafe on Ever After Street and takes bakery made cakes to her interview! Once she gets the j0b, she starts to worry that she'll be able to cope with everythimg and make the cafe a success. Bram turns up on her first day as a fully fledged Mad Hatter who delights the customers. The later arrival of the Queen of Hearts is not such a big hit. She wonders why these characters have arrived and whether any of the mishaps in the shop are anything to do with them and just who she can trust.
I've been to a wonderful Alice in Wonderland cafe in Redruth and it just added to my enjoyment of this book. I had the complete visual experience and could just 'taste' the wonderful creations they made. I loved the idea of an Alice afternoon tea and would love to be able to visit
A fabulous, well written story following the adventures of Cleo and her "Alice in Wonderland" themed cafe. lots of familiar characters from the previous books, however this book is also a stand alone story. This book will bring you joy!!
I really enjoyed revisiting Ever After Street. Like the other two books in this series this book has some brilliant one liners, some wonderful characters and is of course set in such an amazing made up place that anyone who reads these books will be ready to pack an overnight bag and visit tomorrow.
This book concentrates on the story of Cleo who has had a difficult few years. She wants her own teashop but, has currently lost the ability to bake! Not ideal when she manages to convince the interview board at that council that she has a perfect concept for the tearoom on ever after street and delights them with home made cupcakes - which are home made but, not home made by her.
Having a budget of 37p to renovate the café she uses her crafting skills and lots of imagination. Feeling ready to open the Alice in Wonderland Tea room the only thing missing now is cake... On the morning of the opening another surprise appears Bram - her very own Ma Hatter who quite literally makes her feel like she is falling down the rabbit hole.
As a lover of Alice in Wonderland I thought it was very clever how many quotes and references were made to the original book and the attention to detail in describing the tea room and it's menu are an absolute joy. A wonderfully uplifting read I am sur all lovers of fairy tale will love as much as I did.
This is such a delightful series. Each book can be read as a standalone. This book will be especially poignant for anyone who has ever been told they are “too much”. Looking forward to more from Ever After Street!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Boldwood Books through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, Boldwood Books.
